The hotel is situated about 4 minutes drive from the coastline. The room was comfy. Our bed provided great sleep. Two blocks from the main drag. Next door to a Denny's.

The staff uses a funky check-in system. Initially, they texted saying we could check in without assistance. But when we arrived, we had to go through a 10-15 minute check over the phone before we could access our room. The parking lot is too small for all guests to park. The people who arrived after us on a Sunday night had to park on the street, which has few available spots. The checkout is 10am, which is earlier than most hotels.

1. Location is excellent! Up to 30 min walk to the main Monterey places. 2. Hotel style is impressive. Especially in common areas. 3. Free parking is a plus 4. Reasonable price 5. 3 rooms for price of one

1. Extremely narrow parking spots. Why you need additional parking spot if nobody risks to park there and parks outside unstead?! 2. Phone check in is weird. Use lockers instead if you can't provide greeting person. 3. No kitchen amenities in the room. Even with enough space. At least, microwave. 4. Not working AC with plug in heaters instead. Really? With 67F inside? 5. Noisy squeeky beds. Not for romantic couples for sure.

It's a great old house that is very well taken care of and in a beautiful town boot.

The check-in process. I personally like having someone on site who works for the property in case there are any issues. Also, the location that I needed to call to get checked sounded like they were on the other side of the moon.. so it was hard to understand what they were saying. It wasn't a difficult check-in, but after a long day of traveling, the last thing I wanted to do was have a conversation on the phone with someone I couldn't understand, so we could finally get into our room.

The location was absolutely beautiful and with good walking distance from a lot of gorgeous places. The room itself was stunning, everything looked incredibly well kept, especially with it being a historic building. The bed was also very comfortable, and the balcony felt like being transported into your own little world.

During the booking process, I wish I was able to know what house on the property I was staying at before I booked the room. I would have loved to stay at the front house, but both homes are beautiful.

I've never before stayed anywhere that had no human being on the premises. But the phone connection worked out fine, though the fast speech and strong accent of the person I spoke with to get my room code number made that connection challenging. The rooms were lovely. The bed was excellent. The location was handy. I wish I could have stayed longer.

Really only slept here as had friends living nearby. But communication was great, and check-in was easy, room was very clean and comfortable.

Appreciated non-contact check-in and check-out but was a little uncomfortable giving my credit card number for incidentals over the phone... (Phone connections were poor, for some reason...)

Love the historic nature of this inn and how it makes you travel back in time. Rooms have pretty wallpaper and cute ambience.

I stayed here last year and we got a big room with space on the first floor. This time around we got an attic-y room on the third floor with a tiny bathroom. It was very cute but a little more room would have been nice -- or charge less for smaller rooms and maybe make it clear when we are booking that we will get a room on the smaller side (not sure if you use standard pricing across rooms tbh). Preferred the first floor room.

The electrical outlets should probably be updated plugs didnt stay plugged in too well.There was no breakfast, the room smelt a little musty but otherwise was very nice.

I liked the old time decorations and the history of the home.

I did not like that we had no eye to eye contact with an employee. I had to give my CC card info over the phone to someone I could hardly understand. It was not welcoming.

everything was so extremely clean, the attention to detail was wonderful (heaters and fans in the closets along with coffee/tea, extra blankets, a towel warmer in the bathroom etc) and the buildings have tons of character so rooms are very cozy

the parking spaces are a little bit narrow, everything else was perfect though. I had to think hard about something I would change.
