Loved the theme. The room was super clean, well decorated, and comfortable. The soap/lotion smelled amazing (we bought some), and the coffee in the morning was exceptional (way better quality than standard hotel coffee).

Our only complaint was that our toilet stopped working properly (not able to flush). The woman came by and thought she fixed it, but when we came back from dinner it wasn't working again, and there was no one to help. We used the common restroom in the morning, but she should have offered us a different room or ensured the toilet was fixed properly the night before. There were also a lot of large mosquitos that got into our room when we went to dinner (doors and windows were closed).

I've read a whole bunch of reviews complaining about the fact that this motel is basic, but I can't help but feel that's the point. The room was basic but charming. The toiletries of great quality, water pressure brilliant, wifi solid. Parking super easy. Check in experience and staff faultless. No TV in the room but I kind of think that's nice.

Knew it ahead of time, but would probably have liked breakfast. That said - the coffee was great and there's a restaurant next door.

The location is 10/10! Next to the western movie set and next to pappy and Harriet’s which is a great restaurant. The room was clean, spacious and had a beautiful bathroom and ac. We wanted an extra bed and it was in our room already and big and comfy for our daughter. The sunset view with the joshua trees was beautiful and the stargazing in a hammock at night was truely amazing!

It’s kinda pricier but totally worth it.

The most wonderful place that we stayed in our 20 night California road trip!!! I would recommend a stay in Pioneertown motel to everyone who is wonderful about it. Before we visited I wondered if we would feel safe, or if there might be spiders or anything in the room. I can assure you that we felt relaxed, completely at ease, and that the room was clean and free from any bugs. Don’t hesitate, just go and soak up the amazing desert atmosphere!!

Would happily live here. Cool historic motel right next to Pappy and Harriets. Really beautiful room / bathroom. Easy to park and access room. Great coffee in the morning in a lovely cafe part of the motel.

I think it’s pretty much perfect for what it is. I mean a fireplace in the room and a hot tub under the desert sky would probably mean I would never ever leave, but their absence is definitely not a deal breaker for a truly rad place.

Very unique place.

Although it wasn’t the properties fault, our flight to Las Vegas was over 10 hours delayed, causing us to miss our first night’s stay. I called and explained it to them. They said they would speak to the manager about a refund, but we were charged for both nights; no discount. That was a little bit of a bummer.

This is the most incredible motel we have ever stayed in. The location is out of this world, right up in the hills and away from the town so it feels super remote but not too far away from civilisation (but far enough!). The room itself was luxury, the bed was amazing, the air con was perfect and the bathroom was great! The free to use toiletries were a little luxury we didn’t expect! The welcome we received was great, the little shop was very cute and it was so nice to have hammocks outside the room. The western town film set was really cool and unique to walk around and great for photos. We loved it here.

Nothing to dislike. The restaurant nearby wasn’t open all week but that really wasn’t an issue!

This is an amazing, unique hotel which is exceptionally clean and furnished with bespoke pieces. We loved the setting and found the hammocks outside and seating area a lovely addition. The bathroom had lovely products and the bed was super comfy!!

We really enjoyed the coffee/tea room as there is no kettle or coffee machines in the room. However this did mean leaving the room if you needed anything. Also, we stayed on a Wednesday which meant that both the pub, pappy and Harriet’s (and all the shops in Pioneertown) were closed. This is something to keep in mind as there is no food available in Pioneertown on those days.

Great location if Pioneertown is on your list or even Joshua Tree for that matter..Dont be put off my the Motel suffix. The rooms here are spacious, easy on the eye and quite plush too like any other good hotel. The views from the sitout and gorgeous and the sky view at night is brilliant too for stargazing. Staff are great abd helpful too. Walking distance to Pappy and Harriet's.

Nothing.

The hotel is in the middle of the historic and funky Pioneertown (read up on it on your own). And the town has quite a bit to offer in the way of sights. The hotel rooms are huge for what is typical now. The route to the hotel is clear enough and the star gazing at night is amazing. The hotel provides seating outside your room to gaze on the stars. The hotel is in the middle of town and make sure to explore during operating hours. Hotel was clean. Hotel is also fairly close to Joshua Tree National Park without being within the "kitchy" touristy trappy areas just outside.

Little bit off the beaten path and the night drive to the hotel was a bit stressful in the dark. Hotel is clearly signed from road, but the roads are dirt roads typical to a pioneer town of the era (it's a movie set, I know).
