The welcome from the staff was incredible. They were so kind and friendly and treated us like royalty! Cannot say enough good things about them. The room was large, clean and comfortable with a lovely big bathroom. Shower was wonderful - hot, hot water with lots of pressure. The gym was quite large and well kitted out. Also, the location was brilliant within an easy walk of the Old Town and Downtown Sacramento.
I wish they had double glazing just to keep out the noise from the street below. On a Saturday night, the movies in the park can be heard which is a bit of a problem. Thankfully it didn’t go on too late.

Friendly and helpful staff valet is great as well as room service. Awesome location with great view of capital building. Walking distance to great bars and restaurants such as ella.
The shower head was crazy wide spray, its a nice shower but the wild water made it a disappointment. My girl wasn't super hungry so for room service she ordered and kids burger, I got the full. Her burger was the same as mine in size it just didn't have the vegetables, just basic plane. The food was delicious, just portion size on the kids menu is huge.

The front desk staff seemed tepid. The bell hop/valet staff was amazing & very friendly. The restaurant staff for bar menu were more helpful & attentive than the breakfast staff who didn't quite understand my order & once we received our food never checked on us again even though it was not busy and there were at least two servers working 4 tables. There was no butter on my toast & no butter or jam offered. The coffee/fruit was very good, but the eggs had no salt & I wasn't able to get any out of the shaker on the table.
The breakfast staff.

This was an unexpected last minute stay as our car got locked in a parking garage downtown. I booked on booking.com and even though it took awhile to come through on the hotels end, they got us in quickly. We had a rough night and the receptionist took it upon herself to give us a bottle of champagne on the hotel while we waited. They were super friendly and accommodating. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable.
The breakfast was super expensive so we didn't try it but it looked amazing.

Very friendly staff. Check-in person gave me a glass of champagne. I must’ve looked like I’d had a long day! Room was very clean and the bed super-comfortable. Dog friendly!
No parking available except valet for $37. Room cost was already over $300 (with taxes). That’s too high for a nice but not super luxe hotel. Location is good in that it’s walking distance to the capitol but it’s a sketchy neighborhood. I definitely wouldn’t walk around there at night.

When I first tried to check in, my card was declined because my bank marked it as suspicious activity, however, I went outside and corrected it within 5 minutes. When I came back to check in again, the second desk clerk charged me a significantly cheaper price and once we checked into the room I realized it was downgraded. I’m not sure why two separate people charged me a $175 difference if my room was not downgraded and if so, what is the reason for the price difference? This trip was supposed to be a special occasion for my husband’s birthday and we were extremely underwhelmed. The windows were not sound proof either so you could hear all the homeless people screaming throughout the night. The small room we got was clean however. We probably will not be staying here again.

We evacuated from home due to the caldor fire and needed a place ASAP. Citizen was here for us in our time of need. Room was clean, door/valet staff was AMAZING AND TOP TIER. My service dog was welcomed and we are so impressed. We travel a lot and this hotel would easily compete with places we’ve stayed priced much higher. The decor is politically themed and it’s super funny seeing all the art from the sacbee political cartoons. Our view was kinda lame but I’m from sac and this was not a vacation. We were just thankful there was a room and all things considered, I’ve walked/bikes/driven past this hotel for a decade and never set foot in it. Due to the evacuation we got a chance to stay here and really did love it. Restaurant attached. Corner store across the street. Touristy crap all over cuz Its central downtown location. If you are looking for a different vibe and something guaranteed to be clean and proper, this is the hotel to stay at. Great work! Literally everyone here was amazing. I would stay here again and highly recommend it. It’s worth mentioning I am a neurotic clean freak and hate dirty hotels so much I’ll leave and raise hell until I’m refunded and made whole. This hotel is my definition of clean. Stayed on the fourth floor in a king room. Better than I expected.
Not your fault at all, but the park across the street is terrifying after hours. Other thing, the breakfast is very over priced for what it is. Was not expecting a $36ish bill for a basic continental (for two). That was a huge shock. Aside of that, absolutely love this hotel. Nothing to complain about at all. Valet seems expensive but is a great value if you are aware of the local rates and the crap street parking. Car was a call away. Meter maids / parking cops can go to hell.

The staff is very friendly. Every time you enter and leave the staff greats you with a smile.
Nothing to do with the Hotel. Definitely worth it. The cities homeless population is unmanaged.

The area it located is not so great but the hotel staff make up for that!
