No breakfast

It's weird that they try to get you to sign up for time shares through the concierge service.. they offer you money to go to a informational seminar on the top floor at 8am.. this is not a good thing. Also they call you at 10am on your room phone. I had to tell the person twice that I wasn't interested. There is no such thing as free money. Be careful with time shares.. there are a ton of hidden fees.. You will have to get a lawyer to get out of the contract. Also they put people with toddler's above us and they were running back and forth for hours.. people with children should be put on the bottom floor.. to avoid this noise. We were not mad at the parents or children.. just the hotel for not doing this simple calculation.

The hotel is in the perfect location - walking distance to Balboa park. The stuff is very kind and professional. We had a king studio (a big room) with the small kitchen which includes everything we needed. We were there during a huge uncommon wave of heat and were forced to run A/C 24 hours. Unfortunately the A/C in our room stopped working on the next day of our arrival. We found it in the morning when we got up and informed the front desk about this issue. They promised to take care of this issue. We spent the day in the city. When we returned to the hotel in the evening, they told us, that they could not fix our A/C, but they are moving us to another available room with working A/C. They helped us with the move and I was really impressed how quickly and effectively they resolved this issue. We are really grateful to the entire stuff. It was a very pleasant and convenient stay (especially considering the weather condition).

The location was really incredible. Being right across the street from the park was extremely convenient. The hotel was within walking distance to some great restaurants. The room and bathroom were incredibly clean and the kitchen was an added bonus as well as the rooftop deck.

We did not like the permanent window covering in our room. It made the room very dark. Also, we were pressured into sitting in on a timeshare presentation. As soon as we walked into the hotel the concierge scheduled us for the morning that we were leaving. That took up precious vacation time.

The room was like a small apartment with a separate kitchen and all cooking materials. I never imagined that it would be so nice. and complete. BUT the concierge kept trying to get me to go to a "presentation" aimed at getting me to buy into the Shell Vacation Club. I had to keep avoiding him in order not to be hassled. Nowhere was it stated upfront that the presentation hassle would be part of staying there

The presentation hassle.

Comfortable and beautiful 1 bedroom suite with balcony/kitchenette. Very friendly staff including the valets (be sure to tip them). Location: central and across from Balboa Park. Only $20 to park each day (bargain in comparison).

The sales pitch for a time share in the building! Bombarded. First with the concierge and then 3 cards/flyers left outside or inside our door. Don't fall for it! Almost contacted the manager to tell them to stop bothering us.

The suite was beautiful and comfortable. The kitchenette was perfect for the nights we wanted to stay in. Having access to laundry was a great addition.

Some of the appliances / outlets could be updated. TV didn’t have a streaming option, and it took forever to charge my electronics. The street outside was also loud with construction and since the building is old, the noise came through quite a bit in the night.

First off, the service is beyond exceptional. The staff is very attentive and and punctual. The room had an amazing blue/purple hue on the walls and a full kitchen. I definitely could have stayed longer if I had the time. The location was exceptional. Most restaurants were walking distance and if you didn’t want to drive a 3-5 min Uber ride would suffice. The roof top view and dining area is is jaw dropping. The closest hotel to the SD zoo as well! Can’t wait to go back!

No dine restaurant but they give you discount coupons for some great spots to make up for it!

the room was very spacious and comfortable.

I didn’t like the “timeshare talk” offer as we checked in. The representative was friendly, but after a long drive I wanted to get to my room.

Location, location, location. Spacious room. Small but well-stocked kitchen.

it’s a city, so it’s noisy for someone from a quiet neighborhood.

Location is perfect - next to Balboa Park and good value overall. Staff friendly and responsive. We had a two bedroom unit which gave us (3) plenty of space. We had a west view looking out across Mission Bay and Point Loma. Excellent!! Kitchen was adequate for our needs. The valet service ($20/day) was well worth it. Every time we needed our car it was brought around to the front entrance in less than one minute!! And the valet apologized for taking so much time!

The living room, which is very large, is poorly furnished. The sofa is uncomfortable and the high back chair is ridiculous. The light switch for the living room is complicated and you need a flashlight to see the controls. The coffee maker is stuck under the microwave making it inaccessible for adding water and coffee. We're not crazy about the 1920's decor. Not having coffee service in the lobby.
