The location is perfect: in the middle of Sonora, with easy access to restaurants, shops and everything else, including line dancing at The Armory. The actual room was recently upgraded and is very modern, well-equipped with plenty of electrical outlets and excellent connectivity options, including USB, USB-C, and HDMI ports, and option to connect personal devices (phone, laptop, tablet) to the 50" screen. It was super convenient for charging devices, connecting electronics and entertainment. Hard, easy to clean floor (no carpet), sliding restroom door.
A bit small for 4 people (2 queen beds) in terms of surface and drawers for clothes. Breakfast is not great, but it's exactly as described and expected (continental; the only cooked items were the boiled eggs).

Love the motel layout in general (if I can be on the ground floor). For security and convenience, I like having the car right outside my door. But most motels are old and dingy. This place is not. The room itself is more like a Hilton or HI property. And the staff was very friendly, going above and beyond: We had our zero gravity chairs stolen at Calaveras Big Trees a few days before, so we sent the replacements (a set of 2) to Lumberjack. When only 1 box arrived (containing 2 chairs), Kristine CALLED US, since they were expecting 2 boxes. And, not only did they invite my wife to use one of their conference rooms for her zoom meeting, the staff brought her a yogurt as the meeting ran through dinner!
Breakfast was "continental". If that's all your expecting, it will impress you. They even had a waffle machine. But no hot entrees as are so often found at hotels these days.

My daughter and I used the Lumberjack Hotel as a starting point to visit Yosemite Park. It is about a 45-minute drive from the park entrance, making the drive to the park very pleasant. The hotel is excellent, with friendly staff, parking in front of the hotel, and an ideal room equipped with all possible amenities such as toiletries, towels, etc. The air conditioning works great. The internet is fantastic; we even used it also in a nearby Korean restaurant. The hotel is located in the old part of Sonora, so there are many restaurants and bars around it. The breakfast is good. Everything from the rooms to the common areas is extremely clean. The hotel is an ideal place, and the pool is also very well-maintained and clean.
Everything was perfect

The value of this place was incredibly good. Also the location is perfect; at downtown Sonora close to Yosemite and Stanislaus National Forest. It is sharing resources with a hotel, for instance breakfast was at the hotel and so was the pool. Both were OK.
The Wi-fi was down and we had to report it several times before it started to work. Also we had too few towels when we arrived and one day our dirty towels were removed and not replaced. We had no access to the safe when we arrived and we needed to report it twice before it was fixed. The staff was nice and corrected these issues when we reported, but it was a bit odd to have to report these so many times during a relatively short stay.

The location was very central to downtown making it easy to walk to and from restaurants, etc. The room was clean and the staff were all very friendly & helpful, but the one thing I was most impressed with was the pre-visit information. I travel frequently and it is rare to get a heads up on local attractions, places to eat or visit, and valuable information that makes the trip that much more user friendly. Thanks for taking the extra step to reach out ahead of time!
While the stay was pleasant, the mini fridge in our room did not work, the light that shone in around the window made it difficult to sleep, the ice bucket was uniquely small, parking after hours was very limited, and for a King bed room I expect more then 2 standard size pillows. It was also unnerving when the automatic light in the bathroom turned off while I was bathing as well as on my husband while he was using the facilities. That is a safety hazard in my opinion, especially since it did not turn back on by simply waving my arm. In addition, the bathroom door was so heavy and cumbersome that it was difficulty to move it with a distinct lack of handle on the inside of the sliding door.

Good location to explore the town and then easily travel out to the snow/foothills area. We thought the room set up and furniture was one of the best set-ups we've ever seen in a hotel room. We were curious when we saw how small the square footage was going to be but they made great use of it and everything was very clean and new. Breakfast was decent overall and it was really nice to be able to take it to go back to the room.
Two things are what keeps us from giving it higher marks -- only 2 sleeping pillows total for the whole king bed with 2 people and they were not the greatest pillows. We looked high and low in the closets/storage for a few more but nothing found. It really did not make it comfortable for watching tv at night or first thing in the morning. Second, we could hear people out around 2 AM sitting in the outside common area right down below the rooms socializing for at least an hour. There should be signs up that quiet hours are from 12-7 or something like that, those outdoor sitting areas should not be used in the middle of the night.

Everyone was very friendly and helpful. I had my grandsons wedding to go to at Mount Brow Vineyards. This hotel was convenient, and very clean. The person that went was the me, was disabled and they arranged for a ground floor for us. The whole staff was just amazing!!! I will definitely stay there again and I hope that if u need a place to stay in Sonora, this is where to be. Nicholas was super nice. And the girls..thank u
The office is just across a small street, but it didn't hurt at all to walk over for my reservation. Very nice place to stay.

We really liked Lumberjack! As Europeans, we were excited to stay in classic American motel but renovated and with a twist. Room was new, nice and clean. It could be a little bit bigger but we stayed for one night only so we were fine. Location is also great, in the middle of city, and you have breakfast included in the hotel on the other side of the road, which is apparently affiliated/or owns Lumberjack. Also, if you love a superb ramen, it's right around the corner - Yoshoku was the best!!

The location was excellent and was right in the centre of the town, a block away from the main street and next to the police station which added even more to the safety of the place. It was a beautiful room, well equipped with a comfortable bed, lovely bathroom, desk and fridge. The staff were brilliant and helpful when we needed advise or help about our trip. It was a perfect stop off for our trip to Yosemite.

High quality and stylish! Nice design touches give this place the edge over similar motels. The rooms feel fresh, clean, modern with cute retro touches. Bed was just a bit soft for us but everything else was perfect. Love the pool (at sister hotel across the street)--super clean too. Breakfast is better than average--HB eggs, self-made waffles, yogurt, ccereals, muffins, bagels, fruit. Staff are super!
