I have stayed in a couple different budget hotels in Canon City, and this one (American Inn) was the best. It was clean, the room was cute, and the staff were so polite. We booked a 1 queen room, and there was also a little sofa, desk, and mini fridge in our room. The hotel office even had a few snacks and a Keurig available for guests, which I thought was a nice touch considering it's not the kind of place with a lobby and a daily breakfast.

There was nothing I felt could be improved upon for the type of hotel it is! American Inn is not trying to be a Hampton, it is a budget friendly stop and it performs perfectly in that role. It exceeded my expectations!

That was the nicest room I’ve ever had in a motel! It looked like u were in your own home. Pictures on the wall, even a vase of roses on the desk. The two tone walls were very pretty and they had a flora design around the top of the walls. Very, very pretty and comfortable. The staff was very helpful and would accommodate any request.

U can’t help it if the motel is on a busy street but the noise level was low in spite of that.

The motel used to be run down, but the current owner has turned it around and made it so nice. Friendly service, willing to go out of the way to meet reasonable requests. No fancy frills, super clean, comfy room, walk-in shower, firm rules about troublemakers- NOT tolerated- decent, simple breakfast of coffee, muffins and yogurt. Great, affordable, basic motel.

The bed was a bit mushy.

The property is old. I have been stuck in 3 low budgets in the past 4 weeks… which I don’t enjoy! This one we actually stayed three days. it’s old but clean.The owners do everything, clean, laundry and office staff. They are wonderful owners, who bend over backward to accommodate their guests. I would stay here again.

Parking is tight. We have a truck, it’s tough in some spaces and we want to be in front, or near the front, of our room. But, there is a second floor and it was first come first served.

This is an older motor inn style. This is someone's American Dream. They bought an old motel and fixed it up best to their abilities. It's a good stay at a fair for the area price.

I was not disappointed. It wasn't my fanciest stay ever but for the type of older motel it was. The Owners need to be Commended for their hard work reviving it. Bravo!

The Value is Beyond Excellent for High Season. The Inn keeper is very accommodating, even offered Coffee, muffins and yogurt in the AM. He gave me a Frozen bottle of water for my trip on one of the hottest Days in History. Nice. I’ll be back and only live 95 miles Away.

Although obviously an older facility, it did not smell musty like most older hotels and was EXTREMELY clean. The owner was very professional and polite and provided us cold waters before we left for the day. Would definitely recommend.

A little dated but again, worth overlooking.

the room was very comfortable! It was like being in a home instead of a cookie cutter motel/hotel. Loved it.

The first room they put me in had a lot of bugs in it. They moved me after I insisted. I was NOT going to sleep in a room full of bugs. The other room was perfect!

Really nice little motel with friendly staff. Our room had a comfy bed and plenty of hot water in the shower. Free Wi-Fi worked well. I appreciate rooms like these where you can park in front of your door. The location is handy—there is a Starbucks 50 yards away and several restaurants within walking distance. Would definitely stay here again.

No ice machine but that’s not a big deal.

Extremely clean room. Fresh coffee in the morning. USB ports in the room. Bed was firm yet comfortable.

Carpet looked worn/dirty. TV was so small laying in bed I couldn’t read anything at the bottom of the TV without squinting. While I did not have any visitors I didn’t appreciate the no visitors policy listed on the door like I was in some sort of dormitory room.
