The Catbird is a design hotel at the edge of the River North arts district. It offers big, comfortable rooms and a terrific breakfast. I especially liked that with my jetlag I could get up at 5 a.m. and find coffee waiting down in the lobby. The hot breakfast is creative, and they make an excellent latte (extra charge, but worth it). The staff was friendly, if a bit overworked. The neighborhood is interesting, with lots of great restaurants and shops. When we were there it was cold, which meant there weren't so many people on the streets, but I can imagine that it's very lively once the weather warms up. Great connections by train or bus to downtown.

The check-in is automated, but if there's any problem it still takes two people to fix it. The automation seems unnecessary. Why not just have someone check in the guests? The lobby area is also a bit confusing, since it looks like someone's living area but for that reason has too few tables for guests to eat breakfast.

Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Facilities were great with free laundry and gym. The layout of the rooms was extremely thoughtful (including weights and bands for working out, convection oven etc) using space creatively. The breakfast is included and was warm and made to order, as well as fresh coffee all day.

There was an event at the rooftop bar that was intensely loud (bass you could feel, couldn't be blocked with earplugs or noise cancelling headphones)the first night. Only 'til 10 which isn't bad and if I was on a different trip it wouldn't be a problem. I had to ask for quite a few things that were meant to be included (sponges, dishwasher tabs, dishtowel etc), but it honestly such a thoughtful place that I imagine this was probably an oversight that doesn't regularly happen.

Love the complimentary breakfast every morning as well as their coffee. The interior design feels very sleek and modern, with a cozy touch in the work/play room. We absolutely love the room layout + amenities they offered, especially the dishwasher. The staff was friendly and helpful.

The area around the hotel are under a few construction so there was not much to look at unless you walk/travel to other neighborhoods. There isn’t a desk in our room even though there was in the photo, so we had to eat at the low coffee table. Also our window view is straight across from another the room; luckily that room is vacant but I guess you can ask them to switch if you want.

Very clean and modern. We loved having a good breakfast included each morning. Parking in the area around the hotel is free on the weekends. The rooms are very cool with lots of nice features, including a large projector and mini fridge. We felt safe both in the area and in the hotel. Walking distance to the train from the airport was great.

There are a lot of perks to this hotel, but no directions on how to utilize them. For instance, we felt awkward asking for directions on ordering breakfast the first day, and only figured out we could order orange juice for free the last day. We never got instructions on how to acquire items from the playroom. The lobby had a cool bespoke vibe, but the lack of useable eating height tables was frustrating when trying to find a spot for breakfast. The staff in the lobby were very busy, and we felt like we were inconveniencing them to ask for clarification or help.

Loved the decor in the lobby, self check-in, hallway decor, beautiful, efficient rooms with full amenities for the kitchen- even a dishwasher! Fridge, full freezer, wardrobe, all tucked away in beautiful storage space. Loved the lofted bed. Super comfy bed and bedding. Did the rooftop hot tubs in the morning with were excellent! The included breakfast was made to order and the right size portions. Yummy banana bread pudding French toast.

The bathroom door slides and leaves a little gap- would prefer a sealed door for privacy! And there’s a window from the high bed to the bath😄 Also the rooftop- which was quirky and fun- missed just a little as we came in hungry and they only had bar food bites, mostly booze. I thought from pictures it would be full menu, so we went across the street instead.

Awesome staff, great breakfast, area is close to many shops and restaurants and breweries within walking/scooting/biking distance. Also, within walking distance of the train that is one stop from downtown (union station). Highly recommend this funky and fun hotel! And great rooftop bar!

We got in late and went right to bed and didn't figure out the blackout curtain until the next day... it's controlled by an electric panel on the wall and we didn't see it/realize it on the first night. Not a complain, just a warning to everyone else - put the blackout shade down before you go to bed unless you want to wake up at 6 a.m. :)

They made fresh breakfast to order every morning, and served you at your table. Jen at the breakfast counter and Kelly the chef were very efficient and friendly and tried their best to accommodate us. Very pleased with the breakfast and service. Nancy who checked us in was super helpful, both with the online check-in process, and later, as we had selected a room that was inconvenient to our age and needs, in helping us move immediately to a different room with no extra charge. All was handled with a cheerful attitude and our needs and comfort in mind. We had an issue with the TV channels and the building engineer came and fixed it. The valets were always polite and had our car out in minutes every time.

No complaints.

The designers of this hotel seem to have implemented all the great ideas about what a hotel should be. As a well-traveled couple, we've never seen a suite with so many thoughtful touches. Lights and outlets were exactly where you thought they should be. What little noise we heard from other rooms was blissfully muffled. I appreciated the clothes steamer instead of the usual ironing board ordeal. The room's kitchen was well stocked with high quality cookware, flatware, silverware, and appliances (discreet dishwasher and the most quiet refrigerator ever). Most people don't live this well! The hallways were a joy to walk through with original art to enjoy on the way to the notable purified water stations. The common areas, customer service, and fellow clientele were all a cut above. The neighborhood is a pleasure with fantastic places to visit within walking distance. The hotel is an easy 10-minute walk to the $10 train that runs to the airport. The Catbird was such a flagship experience of our vacation that we found ourselves considering making Denver home. Note: we chose to spend our week in an ADA Suite for the simpler room setup.

The room HVAC was loud. It was so loud we thought it was a maintenance issue; we were informed all rooms were like ours. Our time in Denver wasn't particularly hot, but the A/C was necessary to maintain a cool temperature for sleeping. We slept adequately - but only through the use of earplugs. While awake we used the A/C as little as possible to enjoy either quiet time or our own music. Despite this glaring flaw, we would consider staying at the Catbird again.

Amazing place to stay! Super cute and comfortable. Staff was absolutely wonderful and helped make us feel welcome. I love the check in/check out process in that it’s self check in/out. Loved the design of the space and how there are water stations to fill up your water. We will definitely book this place again if we return!

Only thing I’m not a fan of is the location - there are some things close by that are very convenient, but a lot of things are a 2-3 mile trip that you have to Uber for. It wasn’t a deal breaker but just an observation!

I live the location and the style/design of this hotel. We lived the breakfast included with the room - so yummy!

Our blinds automatically opened on their own at 7:45 AM. We were out late the previous night and didn’t plan on waking up that early. I’m a light sleeper - so I couldn’t fall back to sleep. The blinds continued to adjust them selves every 15-30 minutes. It’s probably a setting for rooms that are not occupied - bec when we stayed here before this didn’t happen. I wish that this was disabled if the room is occupied. I should be able to control when my blinds open and want the blinding sun to come into the room.
