Great location

They need to spend more time cleaning the rooms. Very dusty. Had beautiful furniture and floors, but we’re very dusty. The baseboards probably have not been dusted in three or four years. They pretty well. Just do a once over on the cleaning. Your main items were clean like your toilet shower sink and the top of the dresser, but everything else Needed a major dusting. Pretty sad to see a beautiful hotel room and then have that much dirt/dust on everything.

The Inn sits above town with a view of the lake. There is a very nice bar and deck with plenty of seating. The facility is decorated in rustic furnishings and is tastefully done. The room was spacious and had a nice walk-in shower. Good blackout shades made sleeping in easy. Close to a quaint village-like town.

Noisy guests above our room, but not bad enough to complain. Not the Inn's problem. Just bad luck. No real complaints. We stayed during off-season and it was quiet. Summers may be different.

Room was comfortable, the bathroom in particular was very nice. Location is outstanding, both Grand Lake and easy accessibility to highways, main street, and backroads to trailheads. Garden area was great, we didn't take advantage of the hot tub but pickleball, bags, etc. were a lot of fun. Having a breakfast restaurant on site was nice and prices were reasonable.

Pricey but I understand the location and time of year for my visit makes that normal. It would be nice if they would sacrifice one room to make a small gym.

Loved the location, view, room furnishings, cleanliness, and the check-in staff on Sunday evening.

The gentleman at the front desk on Monday morning was busy on his phone, and did the least possible in answering our questions as to the restaurant which was not serving that morning for some reason, and later for checkout. He didn’t bother to put his phone down to offer me a receipt. It seemed that he may have forgotten that he was paid to be a customer service representative for the motel.

The property is set up as a cute little lodge with a log cabin feel. The furniture in the room was gorgeous - all natural wood with a beautiful bed frame and cabin themed bedding. The bathroom was very spacious and had a beautiful copper sink. The location was perfect, right by the entrance to RMNP and the views of grand lake right next to the property were stunning. My husband and I were extremely impressed by this stay and would definitely stay here again.

Breakfast isn’t included, but there is a cute cafe downstairs which was very nice! We knew the breakfast wasn’t included when we booked so this was not a big deal at all. Definitely still worth the stay!

Way exceeded my expectations. Large comfortable room nicely decorated. Comfortable bed, nice balcony overlooking the town. The dining room and bar were a super plus, wonderful deck, live music at night, and food offering limited but adequate. Other plus was the ground level patio which we hung out at after a long day of hiking. Hot tub and shaded lounge chairs to just chill. Will stay again when we revisit the area.

That we didn't stay longer.

A lot of times mountain properties are worn down a bit, but you overlook it because of the scenery. Not Gateway. Clean, clean, clean!. Good sized rooms. Perfectly located. Can see Grand Lake from your room(not lake front), incredible views of the mountains. Easy check in. The bar and happy hour was great. Didn't try the restaurant downstairs, because the bar had a similar menu and didn't feel the need. Bar is spacious, very clean, view of Grand Lake and some of the wait staff were exchange students . Ours was from Romania. Very nice person. Just can't say enough about this very nice property. We were there to see the leaf change and it was spectacular, as well. We've been to Grand Lake a number of times and never stayed here. Bad move on our part. We've found the place. It won't disappoint!

The only thing we didn't like is that we should have stayed longer. No negatives on Gateway....sorry.

Finally a place with local character. The big room had all it needed for comfort and was furnished with country pine furniture including the bathroom counter with its copper sink. Wildlife décor including the bed spreads. In a lovely location overlooking mountains and a lake and very close to the entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park I would have liked to stay longer. The entrance has a clerestory with a taxidermic selection of local wildlife. The historic nearby village provides lovely shopping and eating. For the cognoscenti: Bob Scott’s store has a marvelous selection of authentic Navajo and other jewelry/weavings, and Pueblo pottery. The bakery/ coffee store is a winner. The lake offers water sports and fishing. Bring warm clothes though as it got chilly at night in June. The hotel has a lovely outdoor terrace attached to the restaurant.

The restaurant attached to the hotel (but under different ownership) was terribly understaffed. We were told there was only one server, also responsible for the bar, but were not aware there was only one staff person in the kitchen. Otherwise we would have gone elsewhere. After a 45 minute wait we had food slightly resembling the menu offer. Also, the hotel did not have breakfast included.

I liked that it had a balcony that you could use if you wanted to. Also, the room wasn't too small or too big just the right size for 2 people. It was also a great location for people like me visiting Rocky Mountain National Park. Just a couple of minutes away from the entrance.

I didn't like when the band was playing.

The location is perfect and with a large car park easy to find a spot to park. The staff were exceptional and helpful. The food was great and the wait staff very friendly. The room was clean and comfy and the lift helpful with suitcases.

There is nothing I was unhappy with as the team answered all my questions and made sure I had a quiet room which felt safe (so important as a solo female traveller).
