Bar/restaurant on property

Was told about car break in problem at check in. Someone tried to break in my vehicle. If management knows about problem they need to take preventive action to solve problem. More lights needed in back parking lot.

The location was great, price excellent & room comfortable. The motel staff were very pleasant. The bar staff for the most part were very good. One evening the wait staff were not so good.

We had visited before for meals & drinks w/local family. The food & service were super. On one visit this staff we sat for about 15min before we were approached for drink orders. When meals were served no silverware was provided. The tables were not all full & the servers had time to stand together & chat. It was a totally different experience then any previous.

This place was exactly what we didn’t know we were looking for!! I was looking for 2 cheap rooms for our family to stay in the night before we embarked on our first cruise. I found The Beach Surf Motel at an unbeatable price. We ended up staying in there 3 bedroom “room” (more like house… it includes 3 seperate bedrooms, bathroom, living room, dining room and kitchen!!) We got in earlier than expected and the room was ready and we were allowed to check in early, so we were able to change and spend more time at the beach. The beds were super comfortable, we had plenty of space for everyone in our family, and the kitchen and dining room was an added bonus for a stay in dinner!! It is right across the street from the beach which made it the perfect location!!

Only slight issue we had is that when we got back from the beach and the kids showered, the tub wouldn’t drain. It was the tiniest inconvenience and we didn’t even bother the wonderful staff. I do know they would have fixed it if we had requested though!!

We didn't have breakfast. The restaurant was closed when we arrived a little after 8pm. And it didn't look like it was open yet the next morning. We did have drinks and food the following evening and enjoyed the friendliness of the staff and the other guests. We especially were happy to have our room there so we didn't have to drive any where. The beds were super comfortable and the whole place was very clean.

The parking was a little far for us to carry our belongings. When we checked in it was dark and we were a little apprehensive about the looks of our room location but as it turned out it was very quiet there and in the light of day it appeared much brighter and inviting.

This would seem to be your typical 60s Beach hotel, and it pretty much looks like it from the outside - but the rooms have been wonderfully redone on the inside, awesome. I stayed here a couple years ago - it was great then, and great now as well. Room was good sized, everything in the room worked well and it was comfortable. Great lighting Will definitely stay here again on my next trip to Fernandina / Amelia

personal preference I guess - but the bed was high for my taste. wifi was not so strong

This place is excellent! The room was very clean and well maintained! It’s just steps away from the beach! Has restaurant/bar on site that is very reasonably priced and the food and drink are outstanding! The staff are all very friendly and helpful! I have already booked 2 more trips to stay at this motel for 2024! You will not be disappointed and it’s very affordable! They have a 3 bedroom suite with 3 queen beds, full living room, kitchen and dining room that would be perfect for a family stay! Although I didn’t use it I did inquire about it and the rates for it are extremely affordable for a family stay!

No dislikes at ALL

It was a great hotel to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and just relax without breaking the bank to stay. The food and music at the bar and grill were awesome the 3 times that we went.

There needs to be a way to wash off bodies before entering the room when you return from the beach. Ended us with sand on the floor of our room and we had to sweep just to be able to walk in the room without dragging sand everywhere

Our room had a big shower, and the restaurant was only a few feet away in case we wanted to grab a bite. Very affordable. Plenty of parking. Adorable decor.

I wish there could have been a few beach convenience type items available for purchase from the bar or office maybe. Even if they were over priced. No biggie, but I lost my sunscreen and was hoping I could buy some without having to get in my car and go somewhere. Definitely not complaining. Just an idea. I baked like a lobster lol. My fault

Our double room was larger than expected, great for holding all our beach gear. Big walk in shower with lots of hot water. The location is super convenient, right at beach access 31 in a quiet more residential area. Staff was great, parking decent, food at The Surf restaurant was good.

The exhaust fan in the bathroom didn’t work and there was evidence of mold. The carpet looked like it needed replaced, but overall the place looked charming, with tons of character and clean.

It was right across the street from the beach. The mini fridge had a separate very good freezer not just a separate compartment like many other mini fridges we've seen in other motels. I love the little touch lamps with built in USB outlets on them for your phone or tablet. The touch lamps also had a plug outlet. We didn't use that, but it's a great feature. We did use the USB outlet though. We only stayed one night, but it was perfect for one night. The view coming over the bridge to our room was very nice. The beach was great! The room was super cute and it wasn't too far from the airport. It was even stocked with dishes. The place was very clean and very comfortable. Also I love the posters and old advertisements and stuff in the corridors and in the public restroom. Stuff like different types of sharks and surf stuff. So much I can't mention it all. Just a must see motel.

No pool, but for the price it was perfect. I really can't say anything bad about the place. There's no balcony with a view, but for the price you can't beat it.
