the room was a good size, location of the hotel was great. it did however seem to be a little understaffed with it being right after and right before another holiday. the lady doing the checking in and out was very polite and professional as she was being pulled here and there and there were customers behind us that were being impatient as she was doing her very best being the only employee up front checking customers in. I felt sorry for her.

I feel as though it could have been cleaner in the rooms. it wasn't terrible by any means, but it could use some improvements. it seems to be slightly outdated.

I thought the breakfast was wonderful. It was even better than places that cost me three times more. The variety of food, the waffle fixings bar, and quality was exceptional. I also loved the warm chocolate chip cookies at check in. Location was great. We were just passing through so didn't get to see the ocean because it was dark when we checked in and dark when we checked out but I definitely want to try this again when I can enjoy the ocean views too,

The only thing I can remember that I didn't like was the smell of the halls and room. It could use some airing out or new flooring to help.

The Beach was across a two lane street. One of the exits was steps away from the crosswalk. Several restuarants with bars and live music were also a few yards away. Parking was in the back and it was plentiful. The entrance doors were automatic. There was an outdoor pool (it rained the entire time) and a workout room that I didn't use. My room was looked out over the hotel across the street and I had a great view of the beach. The mattress was comfortable and 4 fluffy pillows were great. The breakfast bar had everything you would find at a restuarant. Great price and value for the money especially for the area.

One women behind the check in counter was not very friendly. The other man was friendly as was the person taking care of the breakfast bar.

ok so if you get a room with a ba to cost you i think there might be only one room with a balcony that would have a total beach view. but being parked across the street from the beach makes life so much easier than trying to find a spot anywhere near the beach without getting your car towed for parking in the wrong spot. the room is all tile flooring no carpet which i love cause let' face it if you're going to the beach you' going to bring in sand whether it's in your shoes your feet your gear clothes what it doesn't get stuck or grinded into the carpet cause it' not there. this hotel is about 2 blocks away from downtown where we needed to be for the festival we attended. the little balcony i call it a grotto has two chairs which are decent to sit in. the restaurant across the street offers sunrise breakfast where you can sit on their second story deck which has a complete view of the horizon and a sunrise. the food there is not that great but the experience of being able to catch a sunrise on the beach while eating well i liked it. there is another restaurant called the sand bar that has this amazing seafood pizza I highly recommend it! super good RIGHT on the beach! literally you have a roof to block the sun from beating down on you, but it is just amazing then if you need regular food there is a dairy queen just right across the street you can walk there. room was clean bathroom was super clean which i like. it has a jacuzzi tub which me and my best friend took advantage of. enough hot water to fill it twice back-to-back. beach was clean with lots of shells to pick from and the folks that run the hotel are great too if you have questions about where to go for something they can tell you the best way to get there and where not to park or which route is not the best. everything about this hotel was amazing and since i only stay here once a year for the Charles dickens dickens on Centre street 2nd weekend in December every year. just...

nothing everything was great!

The room, breakfast area, lobby, pool area and grounds were exceptionally clean and well cared for and looked after. Breakfast food was a little above the norm and the breakfast attendant was superb. Housekeeping staff were pleasant and accommodating. Maintenance guys were cordial. Bed, bathroom, TV, fridge , microwave and A/C were all above average. Liked that they had hardwood floors and not room carpet. They honored my request for a high floor room. Loved the shape of their luggage carts! Luggage carts also seemed newer. Loved the rocking chairs out front.

All but one front desk clerk seemed unhappy to be there and doing their job. Very few smiles and definitely not a welcoming attitude. Woman working the morning shift with long dark hair was the exception to the aforementioned. Wifi was spotty in the room but I've noticed that happens a lot at Florida Beach Hotels/Motels. Jacksonville Beach and St. Augustine Beach has the same problem.

We really enjoyed the location and the convenience of where it was in reference to the beach and to the historical downtown park of the city island. We also loved the hotel has breakfast. It's a very hearty, and delicious breakfast. The bed was very comfortable and the room was spacious. On Saturday night of our stay we end up having to move rooms because the smoke detector fire alarm kept chirping and beeping and they were so gracious to put us in another room because they couldn't change it out. So that was very professional and courteous of them.

Probably the one thing I would say they can improve on is the staff members that work there. They were helpful if you asked something but they were not overly friendly. Didn't seem to enjoy being there and just did what they had to and no extra conversation.

The location was awesome. We also enjoyed the daily breakfast. My kids loved the cookies every afternoon!

Shower tub faucet leaking, apparently a lot of the rooms have the same problem waiting to be fixed. They didn’t tell us that when we checked in. I have to go down & tell them of what I heard immediately as soon as I entered the room. So we have to wrap the faucet the whole time (except during shower time) with a big towel to dampen the noise of water dripping!

The hotel property was surprisingly chic and well-appointed. The decor was appropriate (beach-casual, and southern charm) to make you feel comfortable and like you're on vacation, but wasn't done in a cheap or run-down way. The location is great. There's a very lively (but not too rowdy) restaurant/bar across the street, along with other restaurants and places nearby. It truly is a gem and well worth the price. They provided complimentary refreshments for certain meals and a free shuttle to and from the annual Shrimp Festival.

We went for the Shrimp Festival, and truly appreciated the free shuttle to and from that location, but the shuttle times didn't match the main event times. If you wanted to catch some of the main events you'd have to leave early independent of the shuttle. If you wanted to use the shuttle to come back, the hotel staff couldn't tell you the exact location to go to get the shuttle. I thought that was odd (and honestly a liability).

One half block from the beautiful beach. Hot breakfast every morning, with a smiling attendant keeping all the items filled. Nice sunny dining room to eat it in. Store across the street for beach supplies. Bar/ restaurant across the street - otherwise was like a quiet, residential spot. Great downtown with plenty of shopping and restaurants. Comfortable rooms and beds, very clean, good air conditioning. The small pool looked very clean.

Wish the room had carpeting instead of the Pergo flooring.

Jacuzzi was nice, liked the hard floors (carpets get gross), nice to have two TV's, plenty of counterspace, comfy bed, balcony was a nice size with tables, breakfast was very good (especially the coffee), breakfast attendant was great but check in staff was miserable, having two A/C's in our suite was nice as well, large bathroom and great size room for a family

Pack n play was bent and broken, but we made it work with some extra blankets, moldy shower head, shower door leaked and wouldn't close all the way
