Beautiful, serene setting, comfortable, spacious room. I got room #5 which is a queen suite and it was great. Just not as light and airy as I would have liked but it's a perfect room if you don't mind shade. :) It's a great location if you want to be closer to the southernmost end of Duval but a ways out from where everything is at. It's a quieter location. Just need a bike or scooter to get around.

I didn't like that the maid service came into my room without me putting the tag for service on the door. I had all my valuables laid out and thankfully, they were trustworthy but still didn't like that. It was only me so I really didn't need service.

staff was awesome especially Carlos - he was very much a pleasure to speak with and he was very informative on the area! would come back again especially if he is there.

Absolutely loved the location, the gardens, & the pool. It was essential to keeping cool in the summer months. Suite was nice and spacious. The no children policy for this hotel was also nice as we were able to enjoy a relaxing stay without the noise of kids.

The only real challenges we had were 1- the wifi was spotty and slow to load even searches on our phones. Also, our last 2 days there was a group of Bachelorettes staying above us that were loud at 4am. I know the hotel does not allow these but almost impossible to police a situation like this when other guests do not follow the rules. Tough when you have to be up at 7am for your flight home.

Douglas House is located in an excellent position and made it very easy to walk to all the "touristy" parts of town. Including the Southernmost Point, (5 mins walk) and Mallory Square (20 min walk). There is a very convenient free parking space for Douglas House residents at the end of the street (1 min walk). The apartment that we had, No. 8 was right above the main office and was nice and was very spacious. Situated less than 50 yards from one of the main streets, Duval Street. Making it very easy to reach. The swimming pool was located right next to our apartment, with sunbeds and a nice decking area. This included free tea and coffee, which was available all day long for all guests. Guests can also borrow towels from the pool to take to any of the nearby beaches. We went to the nearby Higgs Memorial Beach, which was only a 5 minute drive from the apartment. This had free parking, which was an added bonus.

The A/C in the bedroom was a bit noisy, but we got used to it. Also, the bedroom could have done with a few accessible charge points. There was only one USB outlet, next to the bed.

The Douglas House is a beautiful property just a few steps off of the “Main Street” and a few blocks from the noisier part. We were upstairs in the building across the street from the office and it had that “Key West” style we were looking for with a huge wrap around porch with chairs. The interior of the unit was very cute with high ceilings and wood floors. There is a pretty swimming pool behind the office with coffee & such for guests.

The railing for the stairs could be a bit sturdier but it works. The deck chairs were all dirty, It would be nice if they could wipe them down when they have guests coming.

Great location, friendly staff, good price and a lovely setting. The pool was never busy during our stay and was perfect to relax and cool off in the afternoon before heading out for the evening. Free off street car parking was provided approximately 100 yards from the property. Short walk from the Southernmost point (10 mins) and about 20 mins to Mallory Square via Duval Street which is full of nice shops, bars and restaurants. The hotel does not have a restaurant but does provide tea and coffee etc in the pool area. This was not a problem as there are lots of restaurants within a short walk. I would recommend this hotel.

The Location of the Douglas House is great! Residing directly at Duval Street where a lot of bars and restaurants located. Also two really cool sightseeing points with the Southernmost Point and also The Key West Butterfly and Nature Conservatory are in really close proximity. The inner courtyard of Douglas House including the Pool are very beautiful and invite to relax over the day. We also often have issues with American Beds. They are mostly too soft and lets not talk about the bed sheets. No Problem here at the Douglas House! Perfect Sleep in a great environment.

This is a small, quaint boutique sort of place. It wasn't too difficult to find and, on arrival I parked in a space to the side of the property and went to check in. By the way, the proper place to park is at the bottom of Amelia Road where space had been reserved for hotel guests. We had arrived just after 13:00 but nonetheless our room was already available (at no extra cost!) which was nice. It was tastefully furnished. The room itself was hidden towards the back of the property. We found it to be quite cosy. There was a smallish double bed, two arm chairs, a high bar room type table and a couple of tall chairs. There was a bathroom with a good sized walk in shower. There was also a small kitchen area with a sink and fridge and coffee/tea making facilities. There is a tiny pool in the petite garden area. If anyone has a routine of swimming 50 lengths of a pool before breakfast then they'd manage that quite easily here. I liked grabbing a hot coffee by the pool and supping it quietly on a sun lounger by the pool as the day slowly got going. The guys at the reception area were all warm and friendly. They kindly joined in with my banter which was nice. We should have stayed longer but we were on a tight itinerary. Pity.

We struggled with the WiFi which was a bit hit and miss. Admittedly we had special requirements as we were trying to watch live an important soccer match 6 hours ahead of us in Germany. Eventually we managed on my laptop. Oh, and the aircon was quite loud - we just switched it off so that we could sleep properly. They lacked the usual toiletries in the bathroom but that wasn't a problem as we had brought our own.

The whole experience at The Douglas House was really fantastic. Carlos was so knowledgeable when we checked in, he gave us so many pointers to make the most of our stay and pinpointed these on a map for us. The room was just amazing, so spacious, super clean and the bed was unbelievably comfortable! The pool was a nice touch, a little on the small side but actually fits with the design and feel of the hotel. We also liked that it was adult only after spending lots of time on the road we were looking for relaxation. We absolutely loved our stay and if we ever visit Key West again we will be staying here.

The facilities in the room were really good, there was what could have been an excellent coffee machine but there was no coffee / milk / sugar and there was no one on reception until 7.30am. We were up early and had to walk to the shop around the corner for a coffee - which just doesnt make much sense when there is a coffee machine in the room
