Had a lovely stay at The Olde Town Inn. Our room was lovely, clean and very comfortable and the location good, but the 10 rating really goes to the overall experience we enjoyed there. We stayed for two nights at New Year, so was able to enjoy both a comedy evening and on New Years Eve itself an excellent blues band in the Fox's Lair - the basement bar of the Inn. The Fox's Lair is a really welcoming and friendly bar - in fact we felt as if we had been invited to a friends party! It has a reputation for attracting good musicians and it certainly lived up to the billing. Many basement music bars have an unkempt and grubby feel but this is certainly not the case here. The host Melinda is really nice and extremely helpful. We would definitly recommend.

The bar and bartender were excellent, as was the selection of liquors and beers. The owner was quite charming, and the bar patrons were friendly. The room was quiet, and parking was free. The outdoor area was quite nice. The live music was great!

I had a hard time getting food delivered, thought it might be due to the fact that I rarely use food delivery services. One pizza place said they don't deliver to that neighborhood. The air conditioning/heating control wasn't clear on whether it was on or off, and the text on the buttons was too small to read.

A nice lady who works the downstairs bar helped us. This is a self-lock property, so you’re responsible for getting yourself in and out. I liked the four-poster bed. It has a B&B feel without there being a chatty B&B lady who forces you to socialize. Much better than the Holiday Inn Express. Beware that the front gate locks by itself, so you need to keep it open as you put the keys in the mailbox when you check out.

The property could use renovation, as some of the wallpaper and fixtures are getting a little old. The price is a little steep for Augusta, but it’s the only decent place in the neighborhood. That said, everything was nice and clean.

Amazing revived older home right near the heart of Downtown Augusta--each room was decorated uniquely and comfortably, and named after important women in Augusta's history. One of the owners, Melinda, greeted me personally and was so cordial and friendly. The downstairs pub is a treat and I was so sorry I was too tired to enjoy the live music in person. I absolutely plan on coming back to enjoy this "Bed & Bar" !! Great value for the location, and you get to experience a piece of Augusta history!

Honestly--I enjoyed every bit, but I am a seasoned traveller that has a special love for historical homes and independently run inns. Please remember that this is a "b&b" type experience, and if you're looking for the bright white, modern dentist-office style stay--then this won't be for you (your loss!)

We were lucky to visit on open mic night. The eclectic mix of very talented musicians was so enjoyable! The staff is down to earth & always makes us feel like old friends. Being able to just walk upstairs to bed after visiting such a cool bar is the best idea ever!

We didn't like that we had to go to bed before the music ended. The musicians were all jamming together & creating magic. But, we had an appointment the next morning & we're not as young as we used to be.

Historic and charming inn - great location - warm, welcoming hosts. The bar downstairs has an authentic Irish Pub vibe. Will stay here again!

Accurately marketed as not a bed and breakfast; however, coffee service could be a little upgraded for those of us that need an early cup of joe to start the day. (Old Keurig downstairs does not work properly and cheap in-room single servers could be replaced with better working options.) Also, some shelving in the bathroom so toiletries do not have to be placed on back of toilet would also be a huge plus.

Completely laid back atmosphere - so friendly. The atmosphere was welcoming. The staff is wonderfully friendly. I really appreciate how flexible they were when my arrival time had to be adjusted so much from my original ETA.

Check-out protocol was unclear. I should have asked for clarification, but it was so late when I finally checked in that I didn't ask the questions I needed to. Since they are a small establishment, it isn't like checking out from a hotel at all.

I rarely write reviews anymore because they take time and frankly most venues we go to are overpriced and underwhelming. This inn - bar - music venue is however an exception. Our host Melinda was awesome. Such a nice welcoming and informative person. The inn is quaint and charming and gives you a sense of what life was like years ago. The room was comfortable, clean, and filled with little artifacts that made it feel like home and on an adventure simultaneously. We went to dinner, came back to the inn, relaxed for a while then headed to the bar downstairs, had a few drinks and listened to live music with a crowd that was happy and friendly. The gal that works the bar had been there for a very long time was so nice and really knew exactly what to get us to drink when we were ready. A waitress at one place we went to earlier in the day told us the inn was a hidden gem and that locals all knew that. Now we know it and will definitely go back when we are back in Augusta.

The location was great, within about a mile or so of most of the downtown area. The bar in the basement, the Fox's Lair, was absolutely incredible and felt like a well-kept secret. The room was comfortable and well-appointed, and it was great hanging out in the room and hearing the live music filter up through the floor (although it was definitely not loud enough to disturb you if you wanted to sleep instead). The guidebook that Chuck, the host, provided was probably the most comprehensive and enjoyable guidebook I've ever seen, with great restaurant reviews, info about local attractions, and was written with a great sense of humor by someone who clearly had spent a lot of time at all the places that were recommended. It also included some fascinating info about the property itself, its background, and its historical significance. The room itself was clean and well put together, and the decor felt like it went with the room. The TV was a smart TV with streaming capability, which is always a nice feature to have at the end of the night. The property feels very safe, with multiple keyed entrances to get to the room, so even if the bar is hopping you still feel secure. All in all, it was a great stay at a great property, and we absolutely will be back!

I really can't think of anything to put here, I can't stress enough how great of a stay this was.

The best thing was the proprietor, who was so accommodating and fair-minded. We greatly appreciated his help when we needed it. In the basement of the Inn is a much loved "Fox's Lair" lounge and bar where they sing Irish tunes on Tuesday evenings. Augustans are the nicest people in the world. Southern hospitality is not a euphemism. It's real. The Inn is on older house located in an older district of Augusta . The rooms were spacious with many thoughtful amenities, like fridge and coffee maker. A fun bakery in a pink-painted house is across the street.

At first we were surprised at the house and location, but as we got to see more of Augusta, I appreciated the "Olde Towne" where we were. It was perfect for our needs. We had an event at the Gertrude Herbert Institute of Art literally two blocks away.
