Your booking did not provide a dollar value for fees and taxes, just a list of percentages of additional fees and taxes. This is manipulative and extremely poor customer service regarding truth in booking a reservation. The other two resorts we stayed at in Kauai listed the percentages and dollar value for these fees. No excuse for you not doing the same other than to try to hide the actual dollar value of fees and taxes from the otherwise very hefty overprice you charge . Not impressed with the booking process and the overly high prices for your rooms.

The staff were warm, friendly and accommodating. There were classes for all kinds of things every day. I did yoga. The pool was fabulous and you could rent snorkel gear. The location is on a very good swimming beach. ( not snorkel though).

The fine dining restaurant Rumfire only open Thursday-Sunday. Perhaps staffing shortages? Wish it had more than one hot tub.

Great view of ocean and sunsets from room. Large room with full amenities including a large balcony on edge of property away from noisy pools and screaming children. Nice beachfront and acceptable pool. Parking was free which we appreciated as we rented a car for our entire stay. This allowed us to visit Waimea Canyon which we highly recommend.

They suspended room service, so we had to pick up food despite offering large tip. Hotel feels Understaffed. Two of the service staff were very unfriendly, bordering on rude. A waitress in Lava was rude and a retail clerk in the pickup take away breakfast restaurant was rude. Also, tipping expectations are really out of hand. Why tip a person behind a counter who hands me food and drink? Also, the fine dining on site had limited days/hours and was not open when we wanted to go. Also, day one we witnessed a wedding ceremony directly in front of our unit, felt like we were guests of the wedding..

The hotel is right on the beach and everything is conveniently located. There’s a shopping village nearby if you need something. We have the ocean view room and the view is quite spectacular. We can watch the sunset every afternoon from our balcony.

The restaurant closes early. We arrived at the hotel at around 10pm from the airport and there’s no more open restaurant.

Room was fabulous. Loved the views.

Oceanfront king room was spacious with large lanai for easy viewing of whales and ocean activities. Food at Lava’s was delicious and food was delivered in a prompt manner. There was daily housekeeping, which was rare at our other accommodations during this trip.

Three areas for improvement: Emails sent from the hotel up to 11 days before our stay listed daily snorkel gear and beach chairs for two were included in daily Resort Fee. Upon arrival, we were informed by the Beach Activities staff that these items hadn’t been included for months in the daily Resort Fee. Daily cost to rent these items: $50.00! Phone in room didn’t work at all. Staff at Lava’s Hostess desk were unfriendly and were frequently seen chatting among themselves instead of giving their attention to growing lines of customers waiting to be seated.

Nice room, great view. Check-in staff very friendly and helpful. Room cleaning and evening turndown of bed great and beautiful greeting message on bed on arrival.

Hotel was excellent. Only down side wish balcony doors had screens so could leave open at night to listen to ocean without worry of insects being able to get in. A very minor point however as otherwise all excellent.

Overlooking a stunning black rock beach, large comfortable rooms, wonderful location. Spacious pool with lounges just steps from a sandy swimming beach. Free self-parking and an excellent luau on site (separate cost). A really wonderful place to stay in Kauai.

Excellent views. Great staff who stayed unseen, but were there if you needed anything. Starbucks coffee in room. The bed, pillows and vie were wonderful! The housekeeping staff were polite and non intrusive. We always felt comfortable and didn’t have to fight for beach or pool chairs.

The cafe only was open in the morning. The Lava restaurant was just ok. No nondairy options, such as creamers. The RumFire restaurant is not open every night and it’s dinner only. Charging $70 for a covered beach chair, not cabana-chair. The beach was nice, but short.

Great room with a fantastic view of the sunsets and ocean. Really made our trip! l Loved the cleanliness of the entire resort. Would love to shout out the following team members who went above and beyond with service levels and kindness: Sheryl, Lonnie and Betty at checkin and also Jenny in RumFire and Jez from Lava. All so lovely!
