Well kept property; nice and quiet; in a great location. Plenty of parking. Easy access to everything we wanted to see. Rooms were clean and staff was great. Breakfasts every morning were wonderful. There was wine and cheese available nightly and the cookies every evening were heavenly!

We were in the Iris room. It was very small but would have been adequate except for the fact that there was no closet or dresser for our clothes. It would have been ok for one night but living out of your suitcase for four nights was not very pleasant. The bathroom (also very tiny) had no shelves / drawers to put toiletries. Made it difficult to get ready every day .

Parking is plentiful and free. Homey atmosphere! The staff is soooo accommodating, caring, the charm of an older house, located on a beautiful street lined with trees, the surprise yummy cookies left at our door, the wine and cheese. The fact that our family sat comfortably in the living room, as if we were in our own home, to converse, sipping our coffee and tea. Amazing!!!

Nothing that I did not like...Just a suggestion: bathroom faucet is somewhat outdated and the tub itself, while clean and beautiful, could be updated. Breakfast food is "just" enough - for me that was fine, but probably not enough for the 3 men in our group.

Staff were very welcoming, friendly, and helpful. Amalie (spelling?) was fantastic. Afternoon wine and cheese a bonus, and appreciated. Breakfast was great and service very accommodating. Furnishings and bed are comfortable and lovely. The room had a shared porch which was great as well. Large free parking lot. Walking distance to the Historic District.

I’m a light sleeper, and the house has wooden floors which are a bit creaky at night. Had I thought to request a room on the top (third) floor, I would have done so.

Breakfast was always delicious. Eggs in some form were a daily choice, as well as meat/potato/fruit choices, too. Room was very quiet and the veranda was large with several chairs and a table.

Directions for the TV/remote were lacking. We were never able to find local channels or CNN or other ones common to our home city. The directions don't mention that there are TWO remotes. It would be nice to have a hard copy list of channels.

The breakfast was very nice! The location puts you at a walking distance to the Lincoln house and other places of interest for many tourists. The charm of the old house was a treat as well as the historical materials about the renovation etc that we enjoyed reading as we came in.

The lighting: we like dim indirect light in the room so in hotels we usually leave the door slightly open to the bathroom and leave the light on in there but that was impossible as the fan was on the same switch with an exhaust fan which as most fans was audible. The shower worked well eventually but it took some fidgeting. We could hear people talking loudly in some room nearby so we did our best to stay quiet to avoid disturbing others - the old house does suffer from poor soundproofing.

We loved this hotel as it was very different in style. The room was clean and comfortable, the hot breakfast was good and they served complimentary cheese and wine in the evening and cookies in the morning. It is situated close to all the Lincoln attractions and the Dana-Thomas house. We had no problem n parking on the street adjacent to the hotel.

The room was quite small and dark. There was no parking onsite possibly because there were marquees for a function erected in the grounds. There are quite a few steps up to the front door/ reception area..

The breakfast was very good and served to us in the dining area. I wish I would have stayed another day to see what we would have had the second day! The location was good. We walked in the evening but made the drive to the museum. It would have been a bit of a walk but definitely possible. The parking for the museum was free and we were too early for check in.

Couldn’t have asked for more. The room was spacious and had quite a personality. The chocolate chip cookies were a really nice touch. The only change would be to not have a whirlpool tub and to have a walk in tub. This was a little challenge for us older folks.

Breakfasts were very tasty, although on the small side. Afternoon wine and cheese were great, as were the fresh cookies we found hanging in a basket on our doorknob two of the nights. The building is beautiful and the rooms are very nice.

The A/C in our room couldn't keep up and it got warm during the night even with the overhead fan going. There is a train close by that woke us up during the night.

The free breakfast was good, substantial, and with convenient serving times. Especially appreciated the availability on check out morning. Really liked the daily early evening wine and cheese. Very convenient to the Lincoln Library which is what brought us from out of town to Springfield. The new Innkeeper, Theresa?, was a delight. Tom Heeney

So much space in our suite! The bed was comfortable, the breakfast homemade. Nice change from the generic chain hotels. We enjoyed the downtown location. The staff we spoke with were welcoming and warm.

The Keurig in our room didn’t work. We could get the streaming to work on the living room TV. Neither was a big deal to us. We let staff know upon checkout and they seemed responsive.
