Compared to hotels along the highway, for around the same price, this place puts you in a beautiful location with nature, a beach, a bonfire at night, and a building with history. Surrounded by trails. Free EV charging.

Compared to hotels along the highway, around the same price, the rooms can be a lot smaller, the historic building feels and looks pretty dated, and there was no desk in my room. As well, you have to pay to get into the State Park before you can get to the hotel. For me, out of state, that was $9. That is not included on booking.com because the Inn itself cannot combine their rate with the state park because they are run by "different jurisdictions," as I was told by a state park employee.

Breakfast was great! There weren’t a lot of guests while we were there, so it felt like we had the place to ourselves, which may have presented some problems with staffing, as a number of our waitstaff seemed young and a little inexperienced. (They weren’t able to serve alcohol on Monday night because no one on staff had their liquor license. They ran out of their special on Tuesday before 6, and their dessert selections were limited.) The water was good and hot, and water pressure was good.

The bath towels were some of the smallest we ever used, and their toiletries were limited: shampoo, no conditioner, no lotion.

Awesome location. And if in season, the toboggan run is fun for all ages. Neat historic inn with friendly staff and all the basics you may need. Parking is ample and views are great. Makes for a good weekend trip.

Price is high for what is offered, compared to other locations. Still a very cool historic place to stay, but they are historically basic accommodations as opposed to historically classy. No problem with that if the price tag was just a bit less. Also at the time of the stay, only buffet was offered at the main restaurant; a bit more choice would be good, particularly as a member of our family has some dietary restrictions. Would still consider returning in the future.

Loved the history and preservation in the building, the grounds, the displays and the decor. Lots to do-we (unfortunately) were there less than 24 hours, but we ate in the dining room, walked the grounds, took a hike, and visited the Nature Center and the Old Gatehouse. Staff was friendly, helpful, and efficient especially front dedk and dining room. We're not fisher folk but still liked the "fish theme" and the emphasis on Native American and natural decor.

Need better signage to the stairs in the Inn, and clearer guidance to the door opening button for the front doors. Recommend grab bars in the shower.

I liked the view to the south from our "historic" room which included a window to the east as well. The room and linens were very clean. I like the historic memorabilia and photos located throughout the lodge.

I did not like the extremely overdone fried chicken at the evening buffet; it was so burnt that it shattered when bitten into and you had to pick up the broken particles scattered around your plate as a result. I did not like that our room key/card barely worked.

I liked everything, I used to camp there alot as a teenager and have many great memories there. I enjoyed telling my daughters about all the great times I had there.

The food in the restaurant was a little disappointing this time. My one daughter and I ordered fish and it was delicious on the ends put a couple bites in it was watery and mushy like it still had water in it from being frozen. I should have said something but I work with the public and I know what it's like. Didn't want to be one of those people that complain .And my other daughters corn was hard kinda like they tried to cook cattle corn. Not what I expected for $64.00 ☹ Also kinda disappointed that the fireplace wasn't working, it was a beautiful snowy night and we wanted to sit by the fire and play cards but it wasn't working. And the other one had a family of people by it and it was only working on one side. The one in the restaurant was only half working too 😟

Very cute Inn on the lake. I like the indoor pool, sauna, library and game room. Pokagon State Park has much to offer.

They should look into renovating the historical section if possible. The bathrooms have no fans for exhaust, so showering is very steamy. The walls are thin and you can hear every noise in the morning and the mattresses are firm, which some people might like. Our waitress at the morning breakfast was slow, food took over an hour to come out.

Great location, nice facilities, well maintained grounds ! I booked a cabin and while somewhat pricey, it was fun ! The cabin was clean and comfortable. Good luck with Wi-Fi on the entire property, it was spotty at best. Dinner was okay and service was marginal. Breakfast was great with terrific service ! The pontoon rental while pricey was very enjoyable. The boats were like new and the dock staff were great ! I’m looking forward to going back at least once again this season !

The front desk was a little lethargic. They weren’t sure about the pontoon rental procedure. They sent us down to the boat dock. The boat dock people ( who were marvelous, very helpful and energetic) sent us back up to the front desk. If you only wanted a half day rental you had to wait until mid day to book the boat. Very confusing. When asked about restaurants or bars nearby, the lady at the desk informed us the “she didn’t go to bars” and didn’t respond further.

The location was great. The Inn and the grounds are beautiful to look at. Loved the recreation room, hot tub and sauna. Those are great perks

Handicapped parking a long way from the main entrance. No fridge in rooms. Being charged to enter park when i am staying at the Inn. Prices in the dining hall way too high. Vending machine prices were way to high.

Staff was amazing and so accommodating. Hotels amenities were amazing. The grounds with all the trails, Views, and state park atmosphere were amazing. We’ll definitely stay here again except the hotel rooms are a little pricey.

Historical room too small. No room for a refrigerator which was extra, microwave, or even a place to move around. Yes we didn’t stay in the room much. Barely held a chair. Needed more options for restaurants. Only one and only opened during certain hours. Yes there was a small café but that was closed on Sunday. Internet very shoddy If at all at times.
