We lucked out and got the room with the balcony. It was MAGICAL!!! The staff was friendly and sweet—they gave awesome advice for food and hot spots and places to avoid! It was an old house. It permitted the idyllic experience of traveling back in time in a classic New Orleans home where everything is within walking distance. Literally parked the first day and never needed to drive anywhere! The house is right by the beautiful Congo Square & Louis Armstrong park. We could walk to the French Quarter, French Market, Canal St., and Marigny within 30mins. Shout out to the closest local coffee shops for helping me perk up for more fun—Treme Coffeehouse and Fatma’s Cozy Corner!

Location was great. Still able to access the entirety of bourbon street and next to a gas station with everything you could need. Room was cozy and able to get cold. Access was easy. They are expanding I believe so it’ll be nice to see what they do. I do plan on staying again

It is expected with the age of the place but the back room did have a bit of a smell to it but nothing I can’t get past. Construction was ongoing. The sheets had rust on them. The patio could use some landscaping and cleanup.

Read the reviews ahead of time. They were mixed. Either really really good or people with complaints. It was funny how the owner/manager answered the complainers. Instead of worrying about, "The customer is always right," he replied to the complainers not with an apology but with a snappy comeback. We decided this made him real. Before we got there, our flight was changed and delayed and we weren't going to make it in during front desk hours. Don called me and gave me a code to get in. We met him the next morning chatting about his background as we checked in. We hung out in the courtyard in the morning before venturing out and he and his staff would be out there with the washing (separate shed like building). They would chat with us and were very personable. We loved that the location was at the edge of the French Quarter so we could go into the quarter on foot amd come back to sleep in a quieter atmosphere. Wasn't far from Louis Armstrong park and restaurant/bars on N..Rampart. Quick walk to Royal St and to Cafe DuMonde and French Toast. Will definitely stay here on the next visit. The only issue was when I was trying to open a Groupon on my phone and had to walk around the hall a bit to get good reception. No big deal. It was only a few feet from my room. We went as a family: my cousin and I plus her adult son and girlfriend and shared a room with 2 double beds. Plenty of room for us all. We are among those who are the happy pleased reviewers. Thanks Don!

Wifi wasn't always available in room. Had to walk into the quarter for good coffee (not really a complaint because it got me out early mornings to see the Quarter waking up and all my walking kept off the potential weight gain from eating amd drinking in the Quarter all day-long long)

The location was perfect. I could walk to everything and it was still a quiet street. The staff were amiable and helpful. There is also a place right next door open 24 hours for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. If you want to get something quick to bring back to the room. They also have beer and wine.

The Temperature was kind of hard to control but I was out most of the time anyway.

Unique spot right on the edge of the French Quarter. We were extremely grateful to be able to park our small motorcycles in the back courtyard for added security. Staff were exceedingly friendly and helpful. A super place to stay if it's your first time in New Orleans! Thanks again!

A bit of a bummer that our room didn't have a window to let in daylight, but perhaps this is a security feature as we were on the ground level. It would be nice to have the option to choose, perhaps with slightly different rates for window/non-window rooms.

To stay there is to get trapped by the spirit of New Orleans. It's an antique house, but renewed enough to be comfortably lodged. A very good bathroom, fridge in the room, excellent beds, the parking (U$S 25 a day) is a plus. They give you the codes for front door and parking padlock.

The floor was dirty, with dust from days, couldn't get out of the shower without slippers. There was no breakfast. The internet for first floor rooms is very slow. The price too high for a room without breakfast.

The bed was the most comfortable bed I've ever been in! The front desk Lady Tisha is AMAZING! She greets you with a smile and it feels like home when you are there.

There were other guest checking out in the middle of the night that were rather loud however that has nothing to do with the guesthouse itself. Other than that maybe a pastry, coffee and hot chocolate in the morning would be nice.

It was peaceful there and the staff Tisha was great! Very upbeat and nice lady!

An elevator to go up or down, smoking in the room, a bigger room, a door that was not cracked (off frame). Then when others shut their doors it was loud because they are older regular doors not like other hotels but it was very relaxing peaceful and quiet other than that. Also would have loved to of had breakfast

The staff were beyond friendly! So nice and helpful and gave great local recommendations. They were happy to provide extra bottles of water and toiletries. Can't stress how nice everyone was. I liked the cats lingering about and the outdoor space to relax in. It felt like an oasis away from the city, even though you're right in the middle of it! It was the perfect walking distance into the French Quarter and convenient access right off the big avenue and to the gator tour bus.

While the room itself and all of the amenities (sheets, towels, shower) were clean, things were noticeably dingey. Many parts of the room could have used a good deep clean or new lick of paint. Also, it was frustrating the window was nailed shut as we couldn't get any natural light in.

LOCATION WAS PERFECT!! everything on our to do list was within 2 miles! Staff was amazing! Love the old feel to the place, loved the high ceilings!

Room was smaller than expected, had cosmetic stuff that needed to be done but didnt ruin my trip. Our room was near the entrance so we could hear the door shut every time, heavy sleeper here but light sleepers wont be happy
