Spectacular harbor views from every room with a nice balcony. It is in a quiet area away from the bustle of Bar Harbor, but still close by. The room was quite large with plenty of space and very clean. Ample parking was available for free. Easy access to Acadia and local sites. A nice breakfast is included which is a plus. I would definitely stay here again when visiting Acadia and Bar Harbor. During the tourist season, check the cruise schedule for BH to try to avoid larger crowds in town and at Acadia.

PROS: Views were top tier. Every room but the mountainside rooms had a balcony that gave you sunrise views of the bay. The pool was well maintained and the outdoor space was pleasant to sit and eat breakfast. The location was amazing. We were able to take breaks between activities in the park and in town, and the free town shuttle pulls right up to the hotel. The staff was also super helpful.

CONS: Breakfast was below standards, even for free hotel breakfast. They do not offer daily room cleaning, only on the 4th day on request, so if that's a deal breaker you may need to reconsider. There is stair access to all floors but if you have small children or mobility issues it can feel like a bit of a walk to the one central elevator or to reach the parking levels. Our stay in room 212 was manageable for our 2 year old since it was only one flight of stairs down and a short walk to the elevator.

I liked the room size and the view of the ocean. The room was clean and beds were comfortable with extra pillows. I liked that even though the building was of an older design, everything was new and redone. it was cool seeing the small glimpses of the older style hotel rooms like ceiling fixtures in the rooms, the marble steps in the doorways, and the small windows in the bathrooms, because they gave it a nostalgic touch since it was updated so successfully. Liked the cookies in the lobby in the afternoon, and the warm pool. Close to both Acadia entrance and downtown, and the town shuttle has a stop at the hotel.

The breakfast hot items were not as warm or fresh as other hotels, but it is a free breakfast. If you want excellence you should expect to pay for it. There is only one elevator, and when it is busy expect a longer wait, or use the old style outside stairs to the building. Neither item should be a show stopper from booking the place.

I liked everything about this place. The room was large, view was amazing, shower was hot with great water pressure. Carpet was new. Beds were ok, but the pillows made up for it. It was quiet at night, and there was a screen door so you could leave the balcony open at night for fresh Maine air. Bar Harbor also offers a free shuttle every 30 minutes into town that picks up out front.

The only two things that I was a little disappointed. They do not provide bottle water or a water refill station. There was no full length mirror in the room.

Hotel itself was very clean and quiet. Room was great! We had a second floor ocean view, which was awesome. Love the dispensers for shampoo/soap/etc. Very eco-friendly! The room had a smart TV, Keurig, etc which was awesome considering the second hotel we went to was "fancier" and more expensive and it did not have these. Room service was only provided if you stayed an x amount of days, but that was no issue at all!

The only issue we had was in the bathroom. The window was open during our stay which allowed some sound to filter in and out. We were unable to close it but it was not a huge issue so we just ignored that.

The breakfast buffet was quite good. The scrambled eggs did not have that powdery state. Sausage and bacon were cooked just right. Liked the juice selection.

Probably a little better signage coming in after the first turn and the road coming into the home area is in desperate need of resurfacing. Wish the hotel had maps with references to the local area. We got lost more than once coming back. The attendant at the desk told us a restaurant in town was open until 10 but in fact the kitchen closed at 9. A list of local restaurants with closing times would have been very helpful as well as directions.

The location was perfect to access Acadia National Park and get to downtown Bar Harbor in the evening for dinner. Parking was plentiful and available. The balcony view of Frenchman Bay was wonderful. Breakfast was freshly cooked and delicious. There were options available for everyone in our group and we all enjoyed it.

I cannot think of anything I didn't like about the hotel. Not a dislike but you might consider putting a list of TV channels in the room so it is easier to see what is on offer. Not that we watched TV very much after a day of hiking around. :)

We had no idea how beautiful this place was going to be until we arrived! The room, the balcony, the staff, the view, the free shuttle service were all exceptional. We fell in love with the hotel and the Island so much that we actually canceled our trip to Boston and stayed at the Atlanta Eyrie for the remainder of our honeymoon instead. All of the receptionists were incredibly accommodating and made our stay that much more enjoyable. We would highly recommend this venue to anyone that wants to experience the beauty of Bar Harbor!!!

Nothing!

Location was close to DT Bar harbor shopping and restaurants/bars/ etc. the harbor whale watching etc., and the Cat ferry to Nova scotia and the entrance to Acadia National park and a golf course we did not play but was close by. The pool area was clean and a deer and her baby had breakfast in the yard every morning. The view over the harbor and town is spectacular. Would definitely stay there again.

Breakfast was good, I think eggs were powdered so that could be better.

Views were lovely, free parking, baked cookies in the afternoon, replaced towels, lovely soap, shampoo and especially nice lotion in wall dispensers, 2 sinks, hot breakfast, eggs, sausages/bacon, breads, the lodge was on a free bus route! Little table, with 2 chairs, 2 chairs on balcony and sofa in room with 2 queen beds.

The toliet seat had slight scars, the sheets were micro fiber or other soft, polyester=ish fabric and the beds were not comfy, too mushy
