The Farrington Inn is exactly what you need for a very readable price. Don’t expect a 5 star resort but if you’re traveling on a budget and look for a clean inn with a friendly staff, The Farrington Inn is the place for you. Within walking distance to restaurants, bars and the train that provides easy transportation to downtown! I would recommend to my friends who don’t have $400-$800 a night to stay in a Marriott or Hilton. The check in process was easy, the parking was a very reasonable $10/night! Especially when hotel parking prices can be $40+/night. The Farrington Inn allowed me to visit Boston when I didn’t have the financial means to do so! Boston needs more inns like this one, especially being able to book through Booking.com and not having to go through the hassle of AirBnB!
If you can’t handle not having a private bathroom, this might be the correct accommodations for you. (The staff and fellow guests that I interacted with kept the space very clean. Would recommend shower sandals). Make sure to bring your own towels/wash cloths. Not a 5 star resort but the staff keeps the place up and clean! Just what you need for a reasonably priced stay!

The room was small, but large enough for one person. Two people would have been quite cramped. The bed, pillows and blankets were good. Everything was clean.
There was one towel that was pretty ugly with bleach stains. I was able to get an additional bath towel and hand towel by making a request. The house is old enough that the stairs and floors creak when people walk on them. That was pretty loud. The first night there were some very rude and loud people above me, but that is not the fault of the establishment. There was one cup in the room, but no other dishes or silverware. If you wanted to heat up some water in the microwave to make some instant coffee or tea that you brought, you could do that.

We showed up sorta late, we had a bit of a "Karen" moment, and yet the staff was exceptional! Ended up staying an extra night, and they were more than accommodating. They have no problems with my fur baby, the house is awesome looking, the neighborhood is amazingly walkable, and the people are friendly. I can see why this place books!
The ONLY sorta teeny problem I have is the temp and pressure of the shower. It's just warm enough to take out any chill, and the pressure is kinda weak....BUT that's such a first world problem. We did have an issue with a missing bag, but it was resolved quickly, and I apologize for my "Karen" moment.

THe Farrington Inn is exactly what a single person would want. It is very affordable, decently clean and to be honest, whocares about the rest of the people who live there? The rooms are secure and you are getting a perfect place for a very good price. Located in the dead middle of Boston, that place is great and I will definitely be coming back so many more times.
The paid parking is a bit uncomfortable because you pay but the parking spaces are limited so if you return late be ready that the lot will be full. But again, $10 per night is amazing considering anywhere in Boston you will pay at least $12 an hour.

I thought that the room with a common area had a lot of ammenities, like a washer/dryer, a kitchen, and the bathroom was satisfactory. There was plenty of privacy and the front desk person walked me to the building and got me set up well. Very hospitable staff and it was a solid place. With the fan in the room, the temperature was fine.
The bed was a little creaky. But other than that there weren't too many things I didn't like.**************************** **********************************************************************************************************

Everything about my stay went well as usual. I always enjoy my stay at the Farrington Inn and look forward to visiting the Farrington Inn whenever I need to get away during the week or for the weekend.
I have no dislikes but hopefully in the near future and if I'm ever in the situation I've been going through these past several months, it would be nice to have more of a variety to watch, when staying at the Farrington Inn. Thanks again.

Location is also a subjective issue. To us, this hotel's location is perfect, because we visit our son who studies at Boston University and this hotel is very close to the University. The price of this hotel is right, unlike many others in Boston, and it is respectful, clean and friendly. We felt safe, affortable, and convenient at this place.
One could always ask for more, more luxurus and more comfort (such as an elevator!) However, given the price we pay in this city, we feel the hotel has done the best to provide the guests a good environment to travel!

I did not stay here myself but booked a bedroom for my Amish neighbors. They were traveling from northern New York to northern Maine via train and bus and wanted a more comfortable place to spend the night than South Station! Finding a Place that would accommodate them was challenging because they do not have credit cards or cell phones. And they would be most definitely out of their comfort zone in Boston. I found the Farrington Inn online and explained the situation to John. I was able to monitor their travel via Amtrak tracking and emailed the Inn when I knew they had arrived in Boston (after 8 PM). John immediately called me to say that they had arrived and had checked in! The next morning however they could not find a cab to take them back to South Station. John and staff went out of their way to find an Uber for them and kept in touch with me until they got back to South Station. I am so grateful for this and that is why I give high marks to the Inn!
Since I did not stay myself I can not comment on accommodations only to say that I personally would liked to have had a private bathroom (I am spoiled!). But this was not a problem for my neighbors.

Was not what I expected for an Inn but it was fine if you like the basics. It was more of a college dorm room than an old fashion inn. but it was fine for what I needed: bed, bath, microwave refrigerator, wifi, comfortable bed, easy access to downtown Boston, parking, nice staff. Big challenge though: it was cold, little heat.
- room very cold, cold air around window but ok when curtains closed. But add another sweater and ok.
