I traveled alone and had the King suite, and it was huge! Nice tall ceilings, the bed was very comfortable with so many pillows. The bathroom had a big walk-in shower (with shampoo, conditioner and body wash). The location was fantastic! I was able to walk to everything I wanted to see (with the furtest being 30 min away) it was amazing, you're in the middle of everything. The room was very quiet, it's nice that you can grab some (sparkling) water on your floor, the lounge downstairs is super quiet, nice if you want to read something. The staff was friendly!
It would've been nice if I could connect to any streaming platforms.

A few things I loved about The Hotel Salem. Location; this hotel is steps away from museums, restaurants, and stores. The rooms!!; splurge into a suite… you won’t regret it! Cleanliness of facilities. They provide coffee and tea every morning. There was a glass water bottle in your room and machines along the hotel corridor that provide still or seltzer water. Though you only have to walk a few meters to any restaurant, there is a restaurant on site that provides great food if you want a night in. But most of all we loved the incredible people who work at the front desk (Zachary, and staff), made our stay an unforgettable one! Highly recommend this hotel and will definitely stay here when we go back to Salem.

The location was a chefs kiss! Essex street is where you want to be at in Salem. It is the happening spot and within walking distance to everything. Once you get your bearings, you’re unstoppable in that city. Also, once I made my reservations the hotel immediately was in contact with me and welcomed me! They were so helpful and friendly which was so lovely! They were as lovely in person once we arrived too! The property itself is an old repurposed clothing store so it’s really a cool space. They have really neat spaces to hang out with games to play, coffee, tea and hot chocolate in morning with still and sparking water on every floor and cookies put out between 6-9pm every night. The Rooftop bar was amazing at sunset for nibbles and drinks! Would I come back again? In a heartbeat!
Nothing. We loved it!

Property was perfect downtown location. Right in the heart of everything, but no parking and very difficult to drag luggage along the cobblestone. Staff was very friendly and eager to help. Beds were comfortable. The pillows were amazing! We wanted to take them home LOL. Loved the water dispensers on every floor!
Really wished each room had a coffee maker since it was hard to get up and get coffee. There was also a wedding brunch when we stayed and it was hard to figure out what was their coffee/tea and what was for hotel guests. Would have also loved room service as an option but that is more of a luxury and not a need.

Absolute perfect location. Bed very comfortable. Air worked great. The staff was amazing. The nicest people I have ever met. Always asking what they could do to make it better. GREAT Experience!! Anything I needed, I got it immediately. I had no idea how to get to the hotel. I called and she talked me right to it.
Room was way smaller than I expected. I thought we would have had dresser for clothes or hangers. No microwave. No where to sit except on the bed. I just wish the room had been bigger but I suppose I got what I asked for . I was overall very pleased with my stay and would definitely recommend it. Exactly in the middle of everything. We walked to it all.

Great style, very helpful staff, and super clean. The location can not be beat: it's located right on the main drag, and is conveniently located to everything you'll want to see or do. I'd stay here again in a heartbeat.
The bathroom set up is a little wild: the shower and sink are in one room, and the toilet was by itself in another room. Having to walk around to wash your hands is kinda funky. Also, no parking on the premises (understandable considering the location) or parking validation for one of the parking garage is a bummer. To park at the closest garage is about $30/night, so factor that into your stay. Neither is a deal breaker, just something people should be aware of.

Well this hotel exceeded my expectations. The location was in the center of a public walkway so it was very easy to access shopping, restaurants, and tourist attractions. It was also in a very quiet area despite being in a busy area. The interior of the hotel was very beautiful and cozy. And the room exuded spaciousness and comfort with a separate shower and toilet; this provided a lot of privacy while your significant other showered. On the floors they had a fountain that you could fill with cold water or seltzer water in the provided glass bottles at the water station (I filled two that I kept in the mini-fridge. If you were a night person, like me, taking in the night sky with some drinks and food on the rooftop bar was more than ideal- it was a great location to end the evening.
Nothing at all. Nothing.

There were not extra amenities like a pool or breakfast but the location was phenomenal! I knew that there were other places that might have those options but they weren’t important to me. The room rates are incredibly reasonable and you don’t need to have any transportation as your are in the literal epicenter of Salem. So considering everything it’s an amazing bargain. You’re also like 5 minutes from the train to Boston or several adorable towns like Rockport which I highly recommend for someone visiting. This property was amazing.
The only thing that would have been nice was some type of breakfast but it wasn’t a big deal since there are lots of fantastic coffee shops literal minutes away with all kinds of options.

The location is excellent for tourist activities. Staff was very friendly and helpful. There is a convenient restaurant/bar downstairs. We didn't eat there but the food looked good and the cocktails were nice. Bathroom was very nice with a great shower. I would likely stay here again if we were able to book a traditional sized room.
We had a micro-king room which was actually bigger than expected. However I think the design could have been better. There was no real storage and it wasn't easy to live out of our backpacks. The hanging area was not designed for full-size hangers. A row of hooks near the door for hanging jackets is a needed addition. Given the size of the room, I think it could have been more functional. Also the window is behind the bed so you have to climb into the bed to reach the shades. Our window was not well sealed and it was a windy and rainy weekend so sleeping was drafty and damp.

Great location in the middle of everything. Very clean room and a nice bathroom. The bed was very comfortable. It was summer so the rooftop bar was open, and that was convenient and enjoyable. Staff at the front desk were very friendly and helpful.
The shower has no shelf for body wash and shampoo, so we placed them on the ledge that was near the floor. A minor inconvenience barely worth mentioning. You can’t drive your car up to the front entrance but the hotel offers parking options close by. Just be prepared to drag your luggage a little ways.
