The mansion is BEAUTIFUL! Staying in Dec. Allowed us to enjoy seeing beautiful decorations and a tree in every room! The fireplaces weren't working which was the only downside because there are many throughout the property. The staff explained this is a recent problem and will absolutely be fixed eventually. Even so, everything else made up for it. The breakfast was hot and continental both. Sausage, hash browns, scrambled and hard boiled eggs, rolls, cereal, etc. The breakfast dining room had great ambiance like the rest of the property. Melissa and Naomi were very accommodating. Even had beer and wine to buy on site for reasonable price. Would like to return in the summer to enjoy the beautiful patio and grounds outdoors. A real gem and memorable experience this was for my partner and I! Would be a great place to get married and/or accommodate some guests.
Gas Fireplaces not working but I'm confident staff will get working as soon as they can.

Super-friendly and helpful staff, and very flexible as well. Great breakfast with hot sausages, scrambled eggs, and hash browns. Absolutely gorgeous rooms and grounds.
Each room has a name rather than a number. The shower in my room, Goodridge, was absolutely tiny, and I kept banging my back on the shampoo/conditioner/body wash dispenser. Since they provide bottles of shampoo and conditioner, they could just get rid of that. Also, because it's on the third floor, it takes FOREVER to get the hot water going (more than 5 minutes). Finally, the mattress was incredibly lumpy and old, and should be replaced. My travel partner's room, Rust, on the other hand, was amazing, with a gigantic bathroom, and he had no complaints at all. NO ELEVATOR, so those with serious mobility issues should look elsewhere.

It was such an awesome experience, felt like we stepped back in time. I took my girlfriend there as a surprise because she loves to take pictures and loves history and it was her birthday weekend. Great experience, we wandered around and checked out all the unique rooms. The room that we stayed in was awesome it had a dining room, a sitting room and a fireplace with two wingback chairs. Such excellent craftsmanship went into building this place and we read all the history about it while sitting in the room, so it really felt like we were experiencing what it would have been like to live in luxury 100 years ago. From the tiled shower, to the dual sink bathroom, to even seeing outside the window of the bathroom in our room, two little baby birdie eggs, and then the bird finally showed up to sit on them. It was so cool! So many unique and interesting things to see with textures colors fabrics woods metals. Just amazing on the eyes to be immersed in such artistry and craftsmanship and history. Wonderful! The staff were all friendly, the room was very clean the house was really fun to walk around. The grounds were peaceful. Excellent stay. We also went to the Temple Theater which is a few miles down the road and watches the symphony, in a beautifully restored theatre, which also was excellent and beautiful. Highly recommend!!
Only complaint, and is very minor was that the bed was kind of hard. If the bed was replaced with a nice soft squishy pillow top it would have been absolutely perfect. Yet, the trip was really great and the place was amazing.

It is some sort of historical mansion, very romantic. There is a main building and a smaller house. It's different than other hotels, sort of unique. The bed is comfortable, the bathroom is large. Parking is free. The breakfast is quite good, that day having a hot and continental breakfast. It was a nice touch that there were two small chocolates left in the room with water. There is a lake outside. The location has a lot of potential.
I booked and arrived in the evening, but there was nobody at the reception. I had to call two times, before somebody came. The heating control is outside the room in a common area. I turned up the heating, but then somebody turned it down. I had to turn it up again. That's kind of inconvenient, that you don't have your own thermostat in the room.

When you compare the value for what was received, it was worth it. It was fairly quiet, could hear the main road, but we were in the front too. The rooms were clean, the place was cute, and everything worked as it should.
The bed comfort was horrible. The TV was tiny, I would if rather had no TV. And I felt that the details of the maintenance of the property was lacking. I understand it's old, but these details make a difference to me. The place felt nice, I just wasn't 'wowed' at any point.

The Inn was almost fully booked when we stayed so we had a hot breakfast. The food was good and there was a variety of breakfast foods offered.
I loved the property at the Montague Inn. It was beautiful. I didn't care much for the area near the property. Just a short distance away (a couple blocks), the area was very rundown and did not appear to be a safe neighborhood.

Staff were hospitable and informative about the history of the homestead and family. The main floor was welcoming, and we enjoyed sipping tea in from of the warm embers of the fireplace in the library.
Our room (Norman Little) was a little warm, but we were able to crack a window to make it comfortable.

The Montague is BEAUTIFUL!! We found out about it on the Internet & decided we wanted to stay. We will definitely be back again!!
Nothing about the Montague. Only thing we didn't like is that we could only stay one night due to our travel plans. That is why we are planning a return trip sometime next summer & hopefully spend a couple nights to fully enjoy the amenities & atmosphere.

Wow! This amazing house and property was so beautifully decorated for the holidays! I appreciate how I was able to walk through and tour whatever parts of the home weren’t booked. The hotel is close to everything in Saginaw and the breakfast was very enjoyable as well. Walking outside around the property was so lovely. What a memorable experience! I hope to come back again soon.

Beautiful b&b and wonderful grounds. A time machine back to 1929. Wonderful breakfast.
They did not honor the Booking.com reservation, and gave us a small room with a full bed instead of a single queen suite, despite documentation. We overheard another couple discussing a similar issue.
