Staycation with my family (including baby) during home renovation. The Rand is a really beautiful new-ish Art Deco-like buildout in one of Minneapolis' few great historic towers. Comparable to the nearby W Foshay but feels like more of a hideaway and less of a nightclub. We had almost every meal in the Blondette restaurant which has a glass roof -- great for dinner, good for breakfast. Restaurant staff was kind and positive and cool with our baby. A lot of people-watching in the elevators. We nabbed a free upgrade to a corner room from Booking.com -- great, though I wish it had been on the southwest corner instead of the northeast.

Beware of surprise parking charges. I requested parking validation to check in. So they gave me a QR code and I mistakenly thought I got complimentary parking for the stay. When I checked out I was hit with $40/night for parking I didn't really need. Management has been unresponsive on this complaint; I'm not sure the listed manager works there anymore. A sour ending to an otherwise great stay.

I liked that it was 3 to 4 blocks from Target Center. I liked that it was 3 to 4 blocks from where all night life is happening on Hennepin Ave. Their cocktail bar was decent and seems to be a popular place to get a drink on weekends. I didn't try their restaurant, but it looked busy and seemed like a potentially good place to try someday.

Some of the check-in staff were perhaps fairly new as they did not provide all relevant information needed for staying here for the first time (like how to use the elevators appropriately and I had to ask how the parking situation worked otherwise they probably wouldn't have called it out). The walls are a bit thin and we could hear our neighbor all night who was sick in their restroom. There is no information about the cocktail bar or restaurant in the room (we later found out at check out that there was a QR Code perhaps near the phone in the room to scan for this info but this was another detail that was not shared with us at check-in).

The hotel is located in a wonderful Art Deco building, and the decor is modern and functional, yet respectful of the building's heritage. The location is good, and the hotel is connected to Minneapolis's Skyway and right next to a parking garage (you can get a QR pass from the concierge for $30/day, IIRC).

The staff seemed to be a bit disorganized at times. The computer was down when we arrived, and as a result we were unable to check in for more than an hour.

I liked that it was furnished nicely. The facilities were always clean and not shabby looking. it was close to the Minneapolis convention center.

I didn’t like the parking location, hours and that we had to pay a separate fee. $37 a day. There was also some confusion that cause me some stress when I checked in. The young man wasn’t aware how to process a payment transaction. Someone had to step in and take over.

I absolutely loved the facilities! I loved the style of the room and the view with the tall windows! I also really enjoyed Miauo Miauo bar, the drinks were good and the bartenders were very nice and helpful. The breakfast at Blondette was very good as well, I especially liked the potato pave. I also like that they have a 12pm checkout instead of 11am.

I can't think of anything that I didn't like about the hotel!

Beautiful, comfortable and well decorated rooms. The hotel is right in town. Lots of food and drink options near by and a close walk to shops. Parking is next door too.

It was close to perfect. The only thing I noticed across my two stays was that there were often room service trays in the corridor for full days at a time.

Love this hotel! Designed with extreme elegance, it feels like you're entering a grand palace of sorts. The rooms are nice and spacious, and I absolutely love the smart TVs that are right infront of the bed—enjoy streaming on Netflix or other services while tucked in for the night. The front desk staff were very nice, helpful and courteous!

Room service is an issue if you are staying for a longer period of time. I enjoy my 1-2 night stays, but if I spend longer then I get a little frustrated because they "do not have room service" and all they will do is bring you some extra towels. This seems quite strange for such a nice hotel, but it is what it is.

The room and bed was very comfortable as well as the shower. The staff was very kind and polite.

I wish they had more amenities like a pool and lounge like most other five star hotels. Also, the A/C seemed to turn off on its own after a while in the morning as if on a timer or temperature limit.

Since there was no valet parking I would have appreciated a handout listing the available parking ramps close by.

The hotel was very pretty. The bed was very comfortable. The front desk people were very nice.

Our room was so small it was very tight to walk around the bed. I also thought we could have used more washcloths. We had 1 for 2 people and 1 towel each. We paid 280.00 which I felt was overpriced for what we got.
