My husband and I took a short weekend trip to Vicksburg on the spur of a moment. I searched for a B&B on short notice and found Steele Cottage. Steele Cottage was very nice. We enjoyed our stay in MaeMae's room. Very clean and comfortable room. We very much enjoyed having breakfast at Duff Green Mansion on Sunday morning followed by a fascinating tour of the mansion and an exceptional tour guide!! Steele Cottage was very convenient to places we were interested in going. And so quiet and peaceful!! The Caldwell's have done a wonderful job of keeping the sense of family in Steele Cottage. On our next trip to Vicksburg, we will certainly check on Steele Cottage first!

Very conveniently located. the bathroom was very clean. The furnishings were very period on point. It is also one block away from the Civil War museum so very walkable. The downtown nightlife is a short drive away. we felt everyone we met in Vicksburg was very friendly and accommodating. Our check in process was very efficient and the manager lives on site and had great dinner recommendations.

Due to the age of the property our door did not lock properly but we were able to lock the other lock. Under the night stands were dusty and should be cleaned.

Harley was knowledgeable, gracious and flexible. It was last minute and very cold and I had a tiny dog with me. Also, I felt safe. I appreciated her getting kueerig coffee cups at the last minute. Breakfast was available at other house but my schedule didn't allow.

The mattress was a "bit" overdue for replacement but the linens were nice with extra comforter I the armoire.

Great location, breakfast at nearby Duff mansion. Amenities as described, and lovely home!

The window started leaking when it was raining. To turn the light on and off, you had to use the pull cord. I wanted to keep the fan on, so I couldn't use the light switch.

The staff was wonderful. Super convenient location. The breakfast was so much better than average and served so beautifully. very accommodating.

You have to give a little grace for a very old, but charming room. If you want everything to be perfect, this isn’t the place for you.

The breakfast was exceptional! The quality of the food and the beautiful plating was outstanding. I was so impressed! In addition, the service was the very best part. They were so kind and welcoming. I will definitely come back.

We decided to stay at the Steele Cottage due to its value. As part of our stay we had breakfast at the parent B&B, the Duff Green Mansion. Wow - this place is incredible. We were treated to breakfast and a tour. Wonderful

Location, atmosphere, and overall coziness were very nice. Loved the breakfast and mansion tour. We slept better than we had in weeks.

The room could have been cleaner, especially the carpet

Quaint..quiet..no worries about safety with police dept next door..clean, relaxing, beds are super comfortable and very well kept.

Nice old home - lovely breakfast a few blocks away at the associated mansion.

Needs a little polishing up.
