The rooms were exquisitely decorated and the bed was very comfortable. The suite was spacious and offered lots of amenities. Loved the coffee being available at all hours. I am celiac, so could not eat the muffins, but my husband said they were wonderful. The hosts offered recommendations on nearby activities or restaurants and included a very sweet note mentioning our celebration (reason for travel). Check-in was contactless and very easy to manage. The hosts were available for any questions and very accommodating.
The shower had great lighting, but the sink area was too dim. The low lighting fit the historic atmosphere, but it was not conducive to putting contacts in, shaving, or applying makeup. Thankfully, I travel with lighted mirror so it wasn't a problem we couldn't get around.

Such a beautifully preserved home and in a great location! We walked to the Nelson Adkins Museum, which is just two blocks away, and two of variety of great restaurants, which were a few blocks in the opposite direction. Our suite was incredibly spacious! We had a very large living room, nice size bathroom, and huge bedroom. The bed was very comfortable and hard to get out of in the morning! Loved how cared-for the place is. We will be back.
Because it’s an historic home, there is no elevator. We were on the third floor, which means we had to negotiate a very narrow set of winding stairs between the second and third floor. But the suite itself was worth it. Just be aware of this fact if you get a room at the top of the house.

Gorgeous beautiful rooms and great details. Common rooms are thought out and sexy. Will definitely be returning.
Few small things in our room would have been nice. A small dresser in bedroom, a soap dish on the bathroom vanity, Kleenex in the bathroom as well as in bedroom space. Swinging doors between bedroom and bathroom. Knobs only on outside making it difficult to close. Medicine cabinet had lots of chipping & chipped paint. It’s a 100 + year old property and has some quirks, but well priced and very enjoyable.

The ambiance of the hotel and the room was excellent. As you entered, you a wonderful smell filled the air, everything was beautifully set up. Very clean with a lot of small special amenities, we loved our stay. Extremely well located, we walked to most places and returned by Uber. Parking onsite was easy. We never saw any staff. Everything was arranged by messages and entry codes.
The room was not very functional for someone who wanted to work on a desk, as there was no desk. We had to make a special request first and refrigerator (needed to keep medication in it). Our request was honored and we found the fridge in the room. We had difficulty bringing our luggage and stuff into the room (despite it being upon request on the ground floor) as there were a few steps and no cart.

Nice, vintage, very quiet, beautiful setting near museums. Exceptionally comfortable mattress!! Lighting was on fader switches to adjust. Wonderful downstairs of property too.
Breakfast was unavailable at the boutique hotel; the neighborhood and greater surrounding area did not appear to support any breakfast restaurants or diners, or convenience stores. Westport is exceptionally difficult to drive around at this time due to mass road construction everywhere, very narrow street infrastructure in the same vein as Santa Fe, MN. Would like some sort of area where guests could microwave their amazing leftovers from the fine area restaurants.

I LOVED this hotel. Before I checked in, I got a call from the hosts that I got upgraded to a suite. The space was so moody, cozy, and really beautiful. Self check-in was really easy, and I lucked out when I hit a snag with my door (the battery on the lock was dying). One of the staff members helped me by grabbing new batteries and changing them out in minutes. The location was perfect. I was able to walk to museums, restaurants, and parks. Parking was also a breeze. I'd definitely come back.
The only nitpicky thing I'd change is the curtains over the bed. There are blackout curtains in other rooms, but not in the bedroom. I'm a pretty early riser but I do like to sleep in on vacation. The curtains made that harder.

The very stylish design of the boutique hotel makes to feel you like are in the '60s-70s. Every small detail of the interior is selected with incredible taste and elegance. Hospitality, cleaning, and services above and beyond. The morning-flavored coffee with cookies and an evening bottle of cold chardonnay in the lobby was a wonderful cherry on the cake! Thank you for two wonderful days to the owners of this wonderful hotel and I highly recommend everyone who is going to visit Kanaz City to choose this hotel. without a doubt, it will leave a wonderful aftertaste and the warmest memories.

The old mansion into which this hotel was retrofitted had a lot of charm. Rooms were large with high ceilings and big windows. Thoughtful amenities provided (fan, white noise machine). Bed was comfortable. Good shower. Location was excellent for our purposes: less than a 10 minute walk from the Kemper Contemporary and Nelson-Atkins art museums. Some, although not a lot, of off-street parking. Contactless check in went smoothly thanks to a quick response from Ryan, who also arranged a much appreciated early check in for us.
Sound insulation not great--we could hear the sound track playing in the common rooms downstairs whenever it was on and the people above us when they were present. Not much in the way of hanging hooks or counter space in bathroom. Hot water took a long time to arrive. No place to get breakfast near by, although hotel did provide coffee.

The location is great, and I loved the look and feel of the property. I would definitely stay here again.
Not necessarily things I didn’t like, but things to be aware of. First, there are no staff on site; I hadn’t realized that when booking. I did have to text a question about something and got a prompt response. Second, I was staying in one of the upper floors and it took a long time for the shower water to heat up. I eventually just jumped in and took a really cold shower, but at the end the water finally started to get warm and I wished I would have waited a bit longer. It’s an old house/building with I assume old plumbing.

Absolutely excellent! I don’t leave reviews but I will gladly make an exception. First time staying in a boutique style hotel and honestly will be our go to from now on. Property was excellent and met and exceeded all our needs and expectations. Location is great, former resident of Kansas City so very formally with area and highly recommended. We felt like we were home away from home. Will stay at again when we come back to visit. 15 out of 10
