This is an island in the barrio neighborhoods of Albuquerque west of the Rio Grande on Route 66. The property is great—secure, clean, friendly owners, etc. Rooms were spacious, clean, and well-equipped, and there are other facilities (like laundry) and a variety of businesses nearby.

While this is a great place to stay on Route 66, the walkability of the neighborhood is questionable, and traffic is always revving, if not actually racing, on Route 66 all night long. The pool felt too cold to try.

Wonderful staff! The breakfast is very basic; yogurt, two types of cereal, and bananas, but they do have a waffle maker and batter. If they would just have sunflower seeds/flax seeds/sesame seeds or peanuts or tree nuts in a shaker, the breakfast could be converted to a healthy, high-protein breakfast, just by sprinkling the seeds/nuts on the waffle batter right after pouring. The seeds would incorporate into the waffles, making them a high-protein, healthy food. (Easy enough to bring your own to make a good breakfast without much cost or effort.) I will certainly come here again when I come back to ABQ!

The pool is indoor, which to me is not nearly as nice as an outdoor pool, especially in the desert, but of course this is a matter of taste. It is also not really walking distance from Old Town. (You could walk, but it's not a pleasant walk, and a bit farther than comfortable walking distance.) It's fine if you have a car, but if you are planning not to use a car, you may want to consider something closer. On the other hand, the price is considerably lower than the closer hotels, and there is free bus service in Albuquerque, and there is a stop right by the hotel.

This little gem of a motel was exactly what I needed for a good, warm nights sleep. The continental breakfast was simple and adequate. The bed and room were very comfortable. The floor was a bit cold but the heater by the window really kept the room toasty. The desk and table were a nice touch. I would stay here again for sure and perhaps get a jacuzzi next time! And of course, the staff were so warm and friendly. I felt safe and welcome and I’m happy to support a family-run place. Thank you!

The only complaint I have has nothing to do with the inn but just the loud traffic at night. I was able to get to sleep and slept well but the noise was noticeable.

The front desk clerk was very pleasant friendly and relaxed. The rooms are large and very clean. The table and chairs were appreciated we could seat down to eat comfortably. The whole grounds were very clean and well maintained. We travel through New Mexico a few times a year and usually stop in Albuquerque for the night. I decided we will be staying at Sandia Peak Inn from now on. One recommendation put the little refrigerator in the room instead of the bathroom.

Staff was very kind! If you need something, they will do their best to help you for sure. Room and bed were huge! (it was a king room). It was clean, bed was comfy - shower was good. Breakfast was good with a waffle machine, some nutella (yes -- nutella!!), syrup, some fruits, milk, yogurt, cereals, small cakes, bread. The location was good for us as it's 20-25 min driving from the Petroglyph Area and maybe 15 min or less from the old downtown. There are a few supermarkets in the area and restaurants. The hotel is on a main road but it was not busy at night so we didn't have any noise to sleep. I really recommend it!

The internet was not very good. Not a huge deal for us as we just wanted to watch something but if you need to work, it may not be the best place.

This is an older facility, so some condition issues are expected. No frills. The staff are wonderful and we had everything we needed at a very affordable price. It is conveniently located for exploration of Albuquerque‘s old town, the outstanding Albuquerque botanical gardens, and Rio Grande river. The bed was exceptionally comfortable for a modestly priced hotel.

Route 66 is noisy, and Albuquerque is known for modified muffler cars, but they quiet down soon enough for a good nights sleep.

The manager was very sweet. The room was generously sized and the bed was comfortable. We were there for the balloon festival which unfortunately got rained out during our stay. The location is convenient to get to and from without having to battle the traffic in Old Town.

Being that this is a motor lodge and adjacent to a main street, we were awoken by loud cars (mufflers?) at all hours of the night. This property is on the edge of town just a couple of blocks south of the Rio Grande.

I most appreciated the young woman at the front desk. She was very welcoming and helpful. She was a delight to interact with. I also loved the fact that they had a Tesla charger for my car. I now only stay at hotels that have tesla chargers.

The lack of electrical outlets at the desk in the room. These days, with all of our electric/electronic gadgets, we need more outlets. Luckily for me, I brought a little power bar with me and so was able to make do.

Good location and pretty quiet. The entire parking lot is covered by the cameras so I wasn’t concerned about my car getting broke into as my toolboxes were in there. far enough from the highway that I could actually sleep. Also excellent price!

The breakfast was pretty weak so I am glad it was free. I was hoping for a hot and fresh meal before I left for a 12 hour drive but the only hot choice was a waffle from a do-it-yourself waffle machine and the batter was not very good.

loved the couple that run/own the hotel. we had a nice little chat as we checked in. our room smelled fresh, and was really spacious. nice shower and hot water pretty much on demand. no running the shower until it ran hot. coffee was good. we didn’t stay for breakfast. continental. outdoor decor was a nice touch. the wife was so cute apologizing for traffic, something beyond her control, yet apologizing

it’s on old 66, so traffic was a bit heavy due to accident on I-40. and of course old town having an event. other guests inconsiderate and were slamming shut their room doors.
