Super cute refurbished hotel from maybe the 50s? Repainted and redone, beautiful and a great room with comfy bed! For this price in ABQ compared to other hotels, its amazing and I highly recommend! Also there is the most delicious taco truck (actually a bus) super close with the best Mexican food and open late.

only complaint is the breakfast, it is mostly really poor quality foods with a bunch of chemical additives, I think its possible to stock the breakfast with cheap food (Trader Joe's for example) with much better ingredients. Other than this, everything was amazing!

I stayed here twice this week. The first time I had lower expectations because of the price and because its a Motel. I was surprised that the room was So Clean, and the decor was cute! I liked the design of the window shades even. The second time, some of the furniture was a little more worn in. Same furniture, but maybe they rented out the room more? I tend to be weary in budget hotels because they carry a vibe that I have a hard time sleeping in, but both rooms had good energy. I would definitely stay here again.

Wish the bedding was warmer and the smell of the cleaner not so strong.

The atmosphere is appealing and the owners truly care about the property. It is very close to Old town, the arboretum and aquarium. There is a refrigerator, microwave and coffee pot, all important for those on a special diet. There is a slight view of the beautiful mountains and the crisp fresh air of Albuquerque adds to the atmosphere. There is a/c for hot afternoons. We have stayed here 3 xs due to staff and location. To care about the property and customer is very important to us.

The shower curtain was missing the internal liner.

The Sandia peak is my number one motel I go to now when I'm in albuquerque. I know the rooms will be clean the staff will be pleasant and breakfast will be served in the morning on time with no hassle about bringing a plate of food back to your room. Good experiences and Good vibes here even better memories with my family. If I was you I would book here before I book at the Ramada inn, Green tree hotel, motel 6 super 8 or any one of those motels up and down University 😂🤣🤮🤢 nice clean rooms beds without dents and no roaches or bugs to speak of downstairs are upstairs I think I made it on thick get down here and see for yourself. You won't be sorry.

Nothing to speak of

This is an island in the barrio neighborhoods of Albuquerque west of the Rio Grande on Route 66. The property is great—secure, clean, friendly owners, etc. Rooms were spacious, clean, and well-equipped, and there are other facilities (like laundry) and a variety of businesses nearby.

While this is a great place to stay on Route 66, the walkability of the neighborhood is questionable, and traffic is always revving, if not actually racing, on Route 66 all night long. The pool felt too cold to try.

Motel is in older but improving neighborhood on West Central a short drive to Old Town. Motel itself is also older, but the owners, who are very nice, are continually making improvements. I stayed there in June and September and had no issues with the motel or neighborhood.

Not impressed with the breakfast but it’s good enough to tide you over. The rooms are what is most important anyway. Traffic on Central was annoying at times. But not the motel’s fault.

The rooms are very large. Room has a desk. The lighting is bright. Not to far from Old Town and the hip area to the east. This place is not the Four Seasons but for the money it’s a very good deal. I often stay in Albuquerque before flying out and stayed in a LOT of hotels there and maybe 20 times at the Sandia Inn. The extra benefit is I can back up to my room. I often have my bicycles to cycle along the river trail.

Cute set up. Appreciated all of the amenities in the room, including a couch . Appreciated the extra outlets on each of the lamps. Liked the wooden shades. Comfy bed and nice comforter. We had been traveling the evening and through the night. So great for a shower and comfy room to rest and get a good night’s sleep

Space around our door let in coolness and light during the night. Shower curtain is thin and can stick to your body. It really helped that the curtain was on a rounded rod which helped to keep away from the body.

I was on the bottom floor and was able to park directly in front of my room. Room was very clean and spacious. Staff was amazing. Given the location, I felt relatively safe at the property.

A lot of homeless in the area. Through out the night I could hear individuals walking by the property. Also, the designated smoking areas are located everywhere in the property. There was a smoke pit directly in front of my room and I could hear other guests talking in front of my door and smell the smoke.

Wonderful staff! The breakfast is very basic; yogurt, two types of cereal, and bananas, but they do have a waffle maker and batter. If they would just have sunflower seeds/flax seeds/sesame seeds or peanuts or tree nuts in a shaker, the breakfast could be converted to a healthy, high-protein breakfast, just by sprinkling the seeds/nuts on the waffle batter right after pouring. The seeds would incorporate into the waffles, making them a high-protein, healthy food. (Easy enough to bring your own to make a good breakfast without much cost or effort.) I will certainly come here again when I come back to ABQ!

The pool is indoor, which to me is not nearly as nice as an outdoor pool, especially in the desert, but of course this is a matter of taste. It is also not really walking distance from Old Town. (You could walk, but it's not a pleasant walk, and a bit farther than comfortable walking distance.) It's fine if you have a car, but if you are planning not to use a car, you may want to consider something closer. On the other hand, the price is considerably lower than the closer hotels, and there is free bus service in Albuquerque, and there is a stop right by the hotel.
