“Continental” breakfast was lame, to say the least.

A very nice hotel for a romantic getaway, conveniently located from NYC. Popular location for weddings, but areas big enough to accommodate other guests. Very easy access from NYC on the Hudson Line. Hotel is half hour walk from town centre but both Uber and Lyft readily available within Tarrytown. Some parts of the spacious bedrooms are slightly dated, but very comfortable. Great outdoor pool area, a nice bar and a luxury spa right next door. Staff is very friendly.

Had some issues at check-in, with finding the Booking.com reservation, but this was fixed by management the following morning.

The Castle Hotel and Spa is a beautiful hotel steeped in history and the perfect place for a relaxing and romantic weekend. It captures your imagination and transports you instantly to the Gilded Age. The building and grounds are well maintained and there has been extensive work to preserve as much of the original Castle as possible. The pool sits just below the main building and was a relaxing escape and one of the most beautiful locations all by itself.

The onsite restaurant is only open Friday to Sunday and was closed during our stay. It would have been nice to have had even a small lounge onsite but Tarrytown was close and we found plenty of excellent restaurants open.

A unique experience! Our son was visiting for his birthday from Australia and we decided to have a family trip away. We wanted to treat him and his girlfriend like royalty so we booked suites in the castle for a short pre-birthday break. Rooms were bigger than expected, well-appointed and quiet. A plus that we could make your own coffee and tea and that there was a small fridge. Outlook from the room was serene. Grounds were exquisite. Pool was great, a good size. Giant chess board and pieces were a nice extra touch. Highly recommend. Great memories of our stay. Would love to visit again!

Wish the tennis court was in good condition, as we were hoping to play.

The location is secluded yet a five minute drive into town and only a few miles from many historic sites. The Castle is beautiful and the grounds lovely. The King bedroom we stayed in was very well appointed, large and very clean. The staff was pleasant and accommodating at all times. There was a complimentary gift basket with wine and snacks - a great surprise!

I'm older and like my "comfort" so maybe take my critique with a grain of a salt. The mattress was firm and would benefit from a mattress topper. The pillows were comfy and pliable but quite flat to sleep on. The chairs in the room were deep with flattened cushions and could use an ottoman or foot stool for reading, watching tv or just relaxing. The heat/cooling system was directly across from the head of the bed and I could feel it blowing on me. The breakfast was disappointing, not plentiful and in my opinion, not quality food items: cold bagels and danish, instant oatmeal, fruit salad was nice though.

The place is just amazingly beautiful, it is a "real castle", with all the decoration that comes with that. The grounds are astonishing, the big chess is such a fun extra part to the garden. The occupancy meant that there was plenty of space for us, always a deck chair available, lovely views, great pool area. The service was great, every single person we interacted with was nice and friendly.

The price was really steep, but okay for what you get. Except the continental breakfast, which could have included a few more items such as croissants and a variety of jams (there were only apricot jam left, which none of my kids like). Also, the restaurant only serves a fix price menu for dinner. I realize this is partly to keep families out, but considering that it was a fairly family friendly place already (the pool was great for kids), it would have been nice with an option to have dinner at the restaurant one of the evenings.

Exceptionally beautiful. Historically cozy, comfortable and quiet. Views from the restaurant look out over gardens and the Hudson river. It was fun to explore a castle and the grounds. The rooms were spacious. I really appreciated having a complete separate bathroom with a dressing room, extra sink and spacious counter for my cosmetics.

Would liked room darking shades so I would not need to play with curtains. There were nice quality offerings for a free grab and go breakfast, but would have appreciated a little more protein other than a hard boiled egg.

1) Our room was superb. Big comfortable bed and bedding 2) We attended a concert at the local Music Hall and therefore the location was perfect. 3) A mini Castle set in its own grounds with swimming pool.. 4) Staff were very helpful.

1) I would have liked to have stayed longer but our flight home was the next day. 2) Small point - something hot for breakfast would have rounded off the experience.

The castle has an amazing charm and history behind it. Even though a number of amenities are still closed or limited with covid, there were plenty of comfortable spots to relax in old world charm. The hotel was spotless and the staff was outstanding. Can't wait to visit again.

I wish the Spa would have been open back to full service, hopefully soon.
