Stony Creek is near the end of Maggie Valley leading towards Cherokee. It's a no-frills motel that was super clean, super spacious, with well appointed rooms. The bathroom is dated but I LOVED that about it and it was SUPER clean. It gave cozy vibes and I didn't overly worry about my 5 year old touching everything. The bedroom/living space was MASSIVE. It great for our little one to run in without fear of breaking anything and the chairs were incredibly cozy. The beds were comfy and I loved their comforters. The AC was THE BEST. It was so dang hot out and the AC did an amazing job of making the room super comfy. There's a dresser, huge open closet with a massive bench, a microwave, mini fridge with freezer, and mounted TV. We had everything we needed. Breakfast was a little but of a let down. When making our reservations we were choosing between a pool and breakfast. As a family of 5, we went with breakfast to help save on food costs. The morning we were there we found 3 types of cereal, toast, applesauce, oj, and coffee provided. Nothing to snub your nose at, but also not enough to sustain my husband or our twins. We ended up at the Buttered Biscuit, which was such a great experience that I can't even complain. We each got a drink and went and sat on the patio by the creek and enjoyed a slow wake up there. That was brilliant. The patio had lots of seating options and the creek is just "mountain magic". There's a sweet little pup named Sassy that stays in the main office and she was a bright spot for all of our kids. She has excellent social skills. Overall, our stay was great.
Breakfast could have had included a few extra options.

Amazing Stay!!! Very Friendly Staff! They treat you like family! You feel as if you are coming home! I had a room in the two-story building. It had a wonderful balcony with rocking chairs overlooking the creek! It also had a nice front porch with beautiful views of the trees and mountains! My room was very comfortable and clean! The bathroom had plenty of towels, soap and shampoo! They had an adjustable shower head with great water pressure! There were some pretty flowers in the bathroom too! The breakfast room was nice and you could also eat on the table outside with a peaceful view of the creek! There is also a big balcony over the creek for all the guests to enjoy! There are many quaint and cute finishing touches at this classic motel! I will be staying there again! Thank you! 😊

This was my second stay at Stoney Creek. It was a great overall experience. This motel is a cozy spot for a get away on vacation. I was able to book a room ahead of time. the motel is right on a creek and the sound is very soothing. The staff is very friendly and very happy to help with all needs. The rooms are clean and very well prepared for tenants. They have free breakfast and a very homely patio to sit and enjoy the sights and sounds.
The only thing I did not like was the noisy neighbors. I was in unit 19 and they were in 18. I left my rear window open for the night so we could hear the creek. It is very soothing. My neighbor was slamming doors and talking loud. They were also smoking marijuana on the rear balcony. I could smell it. There were signs that said no smoking on premises. I am guessing they don't follow rules. Other than that, I had a great stay.

We loved the balcony off the back of the room that over looked the River.! Gorgeous rooms! All updated and fresh looking! Best value and view for the money in this area of the Smoky’s! We would definitely stay here again and for longer periods of time!

I loved having the river directly behind my room. The newer part of the motel was nice and the bed was comfortable and clean.
There wasn’t anything I didn’t like- it suited my needs ok. It’s just obvious there is an older section but I wasn’t staying in it.

first and foremost the lovely lady at the front desk greeted us so warmly, and when we told her we were there to snowboard she immediately said to just let her know if we needed a later check out to accommodate the hours we were going snowboarding the following day! the room was quaint and cozy, perfect for our one night adventure! the other guest were very respectful and quiet as well the creek behind the room was lovely! we can not wait to go back to Maggie Valley and we will definitely be staying at the Stoney Creek Motel every time

The staff were so wonderfully nice and kind, including Sassy the dog. I had a room with a private balcony, and it was peaceful to listen to the creek in the morning and in the evening. Location is great in Maggie Valley if you are coming by motorcycle like I was - it's easy enough to get to the main exciting roads in the area (ToTD, Cherohala Skyway, 28, BRP, 276, etc.) but also very peaceful and quiet in the general area. They provide clean rags to wipe your motorcycle if you have one. The gas station across the street has some of the best boiled peanuts I've ever tasted.
I didn't have an issue with this and enjoyed what they had, but you may end up being disappointed if you expect a full spread at breakfast.

I've stayed here multiple times. Staff are wonderful, and the rooms are gorgeous. They're always renovating and updating. Very clean. Prices can never be beat and there's a stream right behind it with a gazebo... Beautiful.
The fact I gave to go home... I'd never leave if possible.

We did not eat the breakfast there.
We were on an end unit that had upstairs units over it and the noise was tremendous each time the people walked across the floor, you could hear it constantly . I also wish that they had hair dryers and irons provided in the room without having to request them.
