We were looking for the most bang for our buck. We were picking up our new puppy and wanted to pay the least amount of money for a clean, comfortable place to sleep. The Nittany Budget Motel lived up to it's name. Don't be alarmed when you find the "office" in the Bottle Shop, the young lady that checked us in was very nice and helpful. Our room was only $80.00, it was clean, the bathroom was clean...none of the bells and whistles which we did not need. There were plenty of places to charge our phones and it had free WiFi, Complementary breakfast was our choice of a breakfast muffin and choice of beverage, which was placed in a "drop box" in the room at the time we chose. All in all, we had a pleasant stay.

The heating unit did kind of sound like we were at the beach but the most important thing, it worked and kept us warm!

The stay came with breakfast which wasn't a lot but decent. The wifi was pretty consistent. Pet friendly. There was both a fridge and a microwave. Checking in and out was easy and quick. There was a folding luggage holder. There was a very large desk space area for working and a lot of storage throughout the room (drawers, cabinets, shelves). There were also plenty of chairs. Bus stop dropping off and picking up is close. Worth the price for the stay.

Roomed smelled a little smoky and when the ac wasn't on, the room also felt wet. The toilet didn't have a strong flush and would sometimes run on for a while. The pillows were a little too soft for my liking. A bit far from campus, though not a problem if you know how to take the bus or have a car.

Clean rooms and very pleasant staff. Nice hotel for a cheap clean place to stay. Close to Penn State and easy to get around. Great restaurant next store. (Gigi’s)

I was put into a handicapped accessible room which wasn’t convenient for me. I even asked if it was a mistake for me to be placed in it, and they said no.

This is a nice little motel for the PRICE PAID! It is an older motel, but the owners have put work and care into it. Yes, it is a bit of a "throwback", but if you are looking for inexpensive, no frills and clean, this is a good option. The hotel is located about 2.5 miles outside of State College, in a quiet area composed of student housing, some residences and some industries. The beds were reasonably comfortable, the room and bathroom were clean, the towels were much better quality than is the usual case at budget hotels. Neutrogena bath products were also provided, which is also better quality than most budget hotels provide. The room has a small mini fridge and the tv / wifi were acceptable. Upon check-in, you are given a form to choose a few continental breakfast items (coffee/tea, a muffin or coffee cake, juice ...... basic but very nice for a hotel within this price point). You choose your preferred time for the breakfast to be delivered and (this is pretty cool, but shows you the age of the motel) your breakfast items are delivered quietly ...... like a NINJA did it - to a small locked compartment that is accessible thru your hotel room wall! You have to see it to fully understand. There is also a small "bottle shop" at the hotel office that sells beer, soda and snacks. The hotel allowed me to have my dog with me for a small $5 charge, which is one of the primary reasons I booked here. Kelly at the front desk was super sweet and helpful as well. Thanks Nittany Budget Hotel; I hope to return!

The pillows could be a bit better quality. They were a bit flat. There are no USB outlets near the bed or on the counter. The wall-to-wall carpeting in the room was a bit strange.

location was the key! The woman that checked us in was very nice and helpful, however they give you a slip to fill out for breakfast for each person. we had 3 people and they delivered 2 bagels and a coffee to our room n left. why give the slip of choices if you don’t intend to give ? 2 flat generic bagels and 1 coffee did nothing for 3 of us. we had to check out early to go get breakfast elsewhere on our way to our daughters field hockey tournament.

The room was pretty big with a desk, comfortable matress, although very old based on several springs that I could feel. Loved the shower faucet that regulates the power of water. Not all 3 and 4 star hotels have it this way. Friendly staff. Overall great motel, strong 2 stars.

They were out of cream cheese for breakfast :(

Comfy bed, clean room.

Marketed as sleeps 6, but only had 2 full size beds. When asked at the front desk for a room that actually slept 6, they basically told us that's the biggest room and the two beds is the best they can do. We had to sleep on the floor.

Breakfast was delivered each morning to our room-basic juice and muffin/bagel. We called in our order and gave a delivery time--they put it in a cubicle in the wall! Housekeeping staff was efficient!

I could have used two servings of juice--they limit it to one per person.

The room was very clean The room smelled clean The breakfast was bought to the room and they had gluten free bagels!

No way to warm up water for tea in microwave. No coffee in room. Could not warm up coffee that was part of breakfast bought to room .

So convenient, drive right up and unpack your car. Plenty of parking. Right next-door to an amazing restaurant. If you forgot your beer, they’ve got you covered there too. 

Not a lot of attention to detail when it came to cleaning. We always bring our own cleaning supplies, so that helped.
