Booking.com failed to mention that there was a fire in the hotel and was under renovation. Finding the entrance was hard, because the signs weren't lit. The first room smelled like chemicals, the second one we checked had a few things not working. Pool was a bit dirty, but it was early morning when we went out there. But because the staff (Johnathan) was extremely understanding and above and beyond helpful, we stayed. The manager on on staff the next morning was also extremely polite and helpful. We're considering going back to stay there once the renovation is completed. Just because of the great way we were treated.

The hotel is remodeled and quite nice, and very comfortable. The staff was very accommodating and helpful. The fireplace in the lobby is super cute too.

The staff in the restaurant were not great. We were basically the only patrons at the time that we sat down at the bar, but we waited a long time to be offered menus. Then we waited a very long time to be spoken to again about if we wanted to order anything else. We asked for the check and waited for another ten minutes or so while we watched the bartender use their cellphone, have a glass of water, and watch their coworkers mess around with the dishwasher. After receiving the check we waited another 10 minutes for them to take my credit card to pay before we got so tired of waiting that we just paid with cash so we could leave.

Location was out of the busy Newport center, but still so close. Parking was super easy. Room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. We got a $15 food credit each day (comparable to b&b amenity), and we were able to bring food back to our room instead of eating with others (COVID precaution).

Getting around the large facility can take some effort. The Noni Park Restaurant operation was disorganized. The food was ok, but getting it took more time than we thought was reasonable. The tv didn't work the first night, for all guests I believe, and then it was fixed the next day. And we had a frustrating experience when the front desk staff seemed to be having a personal conversation on the phone while we waited to ask a question.. it went on about 5 minutes before we were acknowledged.

I love the decor of the lobby and rooms. The beds were comfortable and the room was neat and clean. The hotel is less than 10 minutes away from downtown.

The location is right off the highway, so you won't really have a view of anything special. Which may or may not be a big deal, depending on your preference. There are only two lights in the room, and none by the doorway/closet. Lastly, the hotel is currently short-staffed in housekeeping so check in was delayed a few hours. They were kind about it with us, but probably should have let travelers know up front, either on their website or in an e-mail communication, what the situation was because it created a chaotic scene during check-in. Dozens of us showed up at around the same time, about 45 minutes into check-in time, and were all turned away. Some became irate. It was a shame to start the stay off that way because the hotel is actually very nice and pleasant!

I love the beach mid-century, modern e electric decor and well appointed rooms. Room was spacious and more comfortable than an average hotel. The atmosphere was welcoming and the beds extremely comfortable. Bathroom was spotless, water pressure was great and we didn’t mind that the location was a bit outside of downtown, but close enough to everything we were there to do/see. The check-in staffer was so helpful, pleasant and deserves accolades as do the morning breakfast staff.

So minor, our one disappointment was the bartender in the restaurant area. We went in and had our complimentary happy hour drink, which was lovely; but we were planning on staying a bit longer. I ordered another round and seemed to be the only one at the bar there for more than just the free drink or tipping. We were trying to engage him in a little conversation - nothing. No personality, no pleasantries and it was not like he was busy and we were interrupting. it was just strange. You would think with hospitality and people on vacation he would be a bit more warm and lively. I would have preferred our check in associate to pour my drink and at least have smile. For that reason we decided to go to a bar outside of the hotel for our meal.

I have to admit when we first spotted the Wayfinder from the highway, I was disappointed at it's location. Yet, the reset design was so cool I was very intrigued and always found many details to delight me. The room was not cookie cutter and it felt more elevated because of the design, materials and the eco slant The lobby area and the restaurant options and quick to go snacks were excellent. I would love to go back during the summer.

The Wayfinder far exceeded my expectations! The hotel staff were all warm and accommodating and could not do enough to make our stay enjoyable. The hotel front and entry way were nothing to look at but the hotel rooms were super clean and large. We wiped the room with antiseptic solution and usually, we find some dirt, but not this hotel! The layout was well planned. The beds were very comfortable. We have found a hotel we will always stay in when we visit Newport!

A small microwave oven in suites with a kitchenette would have made our stay perfect.

The room was clean and very comfortable. The quality of the bedding was greatly appreciated. Thick, fluffy, quality duvets were heavenly. The extras like lotion, shampoo, and conditioner were appreciated. I would highly recommend the lotion! I even bought a bottle to take home! The meals exceeded our expectations and were eclectic and DELICIOUS! I would definitely recommend eating in the restaurant and staying at the Wayfinder! Although, the Wayfinder is not downtown, it is a short distance into town and it is easy to navigate the back roads to the beaches, Salve Regina University, and the mansions.

Unfortunately, our room was not ready at check in. Although we were willing to wait for a bit, we did not appreciated waiting for an additional three hours. Thankfully, we were compensated for our wait and an unpleasant situation was corrected.

We stayed at the Wayfinder suite and it was huge. It was perfect for a 1 year old and small dog. The sofa, long dining table and microwave really made us feel at home. The hotel was very clean and everyone at the front desk and restaurant were super friendly. It was at most 10 minutes from the downtown area. We would stay here again!
