The room was larger than expected. The entire facility was very clean. The staff was very polite and friendly. The employees who worked in the breakfast area always made sure that everything was full and warm. I wish I had gotten the name of the employee who worked on Monday (9/16/24) and Friday (9/20/24) in the breakfast area. She was fantastic! The outside of the hotel wasn't doing the inside any justice. The outside was a little plain/mute. I would definitely recommend this hotel!

If I had to say there was something I didn't like, it was the toasters in the breakfast area. They took forever to toast anything. However, it's understandable when you have so many people coming and going each morning and using them incorrectly and correctly.

This was a very nice hotel, with a big room and comfortable beds. The room had a fridge freezer and a microwave. In the hotel lobby there was a coffee/tea maker machine which you could use any time of the day. The breakfast was excellent (usually something warm things: e.g. scrambled eggs/sausage or bacon) and yoghurts and toast and waffles and fruit). Staff was very friendly. There was a nice restaurant just around the entrance (less than 1 min walk). It is an excellent place to visit Newport. Easiest is to take the bus (no 60) that stops at the petrol station across the road and costs 2 dollars per trip (cash needed, staff at the hotel changed some fivers for us into 1 dollars) . I can certainly recommend this place as it is also excellent value for money.

The was a small private patio off of our room. They had a pool, hot tub and fitness center. The room, bathroom and bedding were clean. It would have been perfect if the carpet which smelled a little musty was removed and replaced with lament it would be perfect.

The musty smell of the carpet was the only problem. There was a dehumidifier in the room that the housekeeper said would decrease the smell (that comes from their humid summers) but it didn’t help much. If the carpet was removed and replaced with laminate flooring, it would fix this problem.

Breakfast was great and had the usual - eggs, meat of some kind, breads, cereal, juices, etc... Nice that breakfast went later than usual to 10am. Our double queen room was very spacious with lots of storage space (dresser, open closet, and shelves) including a sizeable mini fridge with a decent size freezer. The indoor pool area was actually one of the biggest and nicest I've seen. Big windows looking out onto a lawn, lots of tables surrounding, and a hot tub. I've noticed many hotels have closed their hot tubs during Covid and never opened them again, but this HoJo had it bubbling away-and it was bigger than normal. Very nice.

The gym area was very small, although it contained two elipticals and two bikes.

It appeared that the hotel had been completely updated recently. Very clean and functional room with plenty of convenient outlets and charging ports! Breakfast room was clean and did offer a very of breakfast options. And the coffee was a pleasant surprise…much better than average hotel coffee. Plenty of wide parking available.

I would prefer a quieter heat pump type cooling and heating system. But the AC worked well with the remote wall thermostat.

The rooms were very clean and well maintained. The bed was comfortable. The hotel staff were all pleasant and helpful from check-in to check-out. We received a call from the front desk soon after our arrival, checking to make sure we were happy with our room. That was a very nice touch. Breakfast was enjoyable and the breakfast staff were attentive. Convenient location and a great price for a one night stay.

The room was spotless with great storage, plenty of supplies and very comfortable beds. Breakfast was pretty good, the coffee and bread selection were of a good standard. The hotel is in a nice quiet location backing onto countryside with an Applebee's restaurant nearby which does good food. Parking is free and plentiful.

Would have liked fruit and better range of cereals e.g. oatmeal and branflakes.

The hotel itself may look old from the outside but the room we were in was clean and updated. It is actually cleaner and updated than the most branded hotel i have checked in. I have been to different countries/places and it is the first time as far as i remember that the front desk called our room phone to check if we were doing ok..probably because we are not from the area. But it is a good gesture to make sure that the guests are comfortable. The price is affordable than the other hotels around the area.Location is convenient as well.

We enjoyed our stay. The pool incl. hot tub was great. The spa area had a sauna too. The staff was always friendly, kind and helpful. Our room was clean. In only a few minutes you were in downtown Newport or the beach/water. We enjoyed to spend time in the lobby where they had a fire place. We slept heavenly in the comfy beds.

The shower could get an up date. The sauna didn’t had a shower on side. We had to go back into our the room. The breakfast was ok. There is room to improve.

It was very clean, quiet, safe and comfortable with nice amenities, great bed, great shower water pressure and temperature, nice little deck and great, friendly and accomodating staff. Good breakfast and really nice eating area by the fireplace. I was very pleasantly surprised - I even stayed an extra night. I will be back.

The only thing I would add is a coffee-maker.
