The location was good. The property is good. The staffs were very friendly and helpful. I liked that breakfast was included. Free coffee and tea were provided as well.

Although I liked the room that we booked. I am a bit disappointed with how the room smells. There was a bit of musky smell. The bed sheets in particular did not smell clean to me.

This was just what we were looking for over the Thanksgiving holiday - a romantic country inn with a feast in house on Thanksgiving Day, a lounge with a wood fire, friendly yet discreet staff and fellow lodgers. Very charming location and delicious breakfast included in room rate.

The tea water in the common area of the inn was not really piping hot for proper brewing. Such a small thing to comment on but it is really the only thing I can think of!

Breakfast was excellent. I truly enjoyed the light, fluffy blueberry pancakes and the lovely room where breakfast was served. The staff was friendly, and the rooms were very comfortable. The bathroom was spacious, very clean, and did not get steamed up after showers. Bennington seemed charming, and I wish I could have spent a little more time there.

We were on a road trip with a lot of bags, and our room was on the third floor, which meant lugging a lot of stuff up and down, but we knew this ahead of time, and it was ok. Our mattress seemed like it was due for replacement. However, it was certainly acceptable, and I slept fine.

Beautiful Inn on a lovely large piece of property with a very good restaurant

I’m not saying all the beds are this way but the bed in Room 6 was the most uncomfortable bed I’ve ever slept in, the room was lovely, just the bed was terrible

We loved Four Chimneys Inn. It is a beautiful property, the staff was super helpful and accommodating, it was close to everything we needed to do in Bennington and the daily breakfast was yummy. They had great choices for food and the menu didn't change the entire time we were there so we could try different things on different days if we wanted to try several meals while we were there. We stayed in the 'icehouse" and really enjoyed the place. It was cozy, well appointed and afforded a good deal of privacy.

The only complaint was the bed wasn't as comfortable as we would have liked, but we are used to a very soft, pillow top type of mattress so it is just a personal preference. It is about 50/50 if we are going to like the bed when we travel. I will say that I did not have a hard time sleeping and information was left in the room about the mattress type so there are probably many people who will enjoy that mattress.

A charming Inn with a lovely room. The location was excellent for exploring the area around Bennington. The breakfasts were terrific and the ambience was very bright and pleasant. Although it is an older structure, everything had a newness about it.

Characterful old house with places to sit outside. Staff were friendly and helpful. Kate was particularly helpful to us when our hire car went wrong; much appreciated.

We would have loved to have a lounge separate from the bar.

Lovely inn with nice period features. Personable staff who made us feel very welcome. We loved sitting on the porch in the evening.

The breakfast could have been better. The scrambled eggs were overcooked and tasteless and the potatoes were not hot.

Attentive hosts. Responsive to any concerns. Warm welcome on reception. Comfortable room is a nice location and easy access to Old Bennington.

Interior design rather fusty and would benefit from updating

An exceptional breakfast after a very comfortable night. Bedroom was spacious and well equipped with the bonus of a jacuzzi bath. Quiet area for sitting out on rocking chairs looking across the gardens.
