Wonderful period building with original features, staff were lovely and very welcoming, room was clean and tidy with a great bathroom. A 20 minute walk into Wilmington with its great bars and restaurants but as the road is unlit I wouldn't recommend walking at night.

We arrived on a Monday to discover that the restaurant and bar only operated Wednesday to Sunday which meant that we could not enjoy all that the hotel had to offer which was a great disappointment. The room did not have a refrigerator or coffee maker which was also disappointing as all the other hotels on our trip (all of which cost less) did, also the AC unit in the bedroom was so noisy we had to turn it off.

My sisters and I had a most comfortable stay at The White House: 1) Tara, the woman who was responsible for the facility was most congenial. Very happy to chat a bit or help out in anyway. 2) The house was spotless! the rooms had not one speck of dust. :-) 3) the restaurant, Claras was a bonus located in the house with delicious food

The staff at The White House Inn is among the friendliest innkeepers and staff that I have ever experienced. Georgia, Jan and Charlie...WELL DONE! The inn is historically charming, but I couldn't call it cozy. A nice fire in the hearth would have helped but the wood was unseasoned and couldn't stay burning. Also, the main relaxing area was dark enough that any attempt at reading would be difficult. A couple of easy chairs with good reading lamps would be welcomed. The room had a nice comfortable chair but who wants to stay cooped up in their room? This is a newly reopened inn, and it will take them a while to get things really right. I have NO doubt that they will succeed and have a wonderful business in the future.

I'm afraid the mattress was somewhat soft and non-supportive. Needs replaced. The radiator would also make quite a bit of noise when the heat would kick on. Sounded like an obnoxious teenager playing wooden drumsticks on the top of a table! This IS a problem for all old heating systems and more of a nuisance than a real problem.

Wow!!! I am incredibly impressed with The White House Inn. I really had no idea what to expect, as I booked the place quickly and without fully reading about it. I was pleasantly surprised with the perfection that was our weekend. The hotel is historical, quaint, traditional, home-y, comforting, and cute while also being up to date and a comfortable place to stay. We learned that it was built in 1915 as a summer home for a lumberbaron, and it kept the feel. It is I think 18 bedrooms, which makes it feel more of a hotel than a bed and breakfast, but not too big at all. The food at the restaurant and bar was shockingly good. (I don't think I've ever eaten a better meatball!) I would easily choose to stay here again. I think I'm going to send my dad up here too!

lovely. new owners just took it over and renovated the main spaces . we hung out the lovely main line parlor area with fireplace and cookies available in the afternoon. Restaurant still hd limited options, but they are expanding soon I was told. Rooms were comfortable. Nice hiking trails right there.

about 20 minutes from mt snow for skiing, so a bit far. Not too much in the town of Wilmington.

Breakfast was good . Though few things can be improved . We didn’t find salt , water for tea was cold . Maybe another variation of egg/ sausage .

1. rooms can have a tea or cofee maker 2. Our balcony had cobwebs .

Breakfast was good for a continental breakfast The dinner there was the very best I’ve had in a very long time. I would have like to have stayed an xtra night just to dine there again

Breakfast they did seem to run out things like coffee bowls etc. but they were very quick to fix that.

Very much enjoyed it.

There was a light that kept flashing on and off all through the night keeping me awake. I think it was a motion sensor light to the left of our room outside. Very disturbing.

The mahogany room was perfect for relaxing and reading a book, and the bartender/all staff were very friendly and informative.

The dinner was good, but our food was either over or under salted. We enjoyed the meal, but that could have been slightly better.

Always wanted to stay there, planning to come again some time.

No refrigerator in the room, for left over food, medicine.
