The grounds are lovely, and have play equipment children would enjoy. There’s a pool and hot tub, as well. This facility seems like a great place for a family reunion. The rooms are an excellent value—extremely large, with a jetted tub, free internet and a apartment-size refrigerator. The breakfast facilities are roomy, pretty and have lovely windows. The food itself, while plentiful, is simple and, since it is self-serve and in warming trays, becomes rather tired towards the end of the serving time, which is when I had breakfast. It could be a good choice for a group, including children, as there are so many offerings, but it wasn’t really the same as a meal cooked to order. The coffee lady, Mary, provides friendly, excellent service.

This is now our go to when passing thru. This Inn is amazing super clean, large rooms, friendly service (Jackie was our waitress) she was amazing. They have a breakfast buffet that is extra from the price of the room but very reasonable. If you're in the area and need a room this is the place. We have been all the way across the country and by far this is the best place we stayed. Thank you all for doing such an outstanding job of keeping it up.

Absolutely nothing we didn't like, other than they need to expand on more locations. We will always stop here when passing thru wish they had more locations.

This was the largest motel room we have had in YEARS! No squeezing between the dresser and the bed. Even room to play with the dog. We were delightfully surprised at the size, cleanliness, size of the bathroom, ease of parking. It was very convenient to be able to park right in front of our door rather than schlepping everything in thru a hallway. Some of why Village Inn is nice is because it is an "old style" motel. If you're tired of "cookie cutter" econo motels - try this one!

Very little not to like here! Maybe a higher quality of coffee in the room. And I thought having the coffee maker bolted to the wall was kind of tacky - and made the shelf crowded. It could be out by the microwave, frig.

This is a relaxed, friendly place. The rooms rival the nicer chain hotel rooms without the fuss. I did not get a chance to enjoy all the facilities but the grounds are a pleasant change from the usual hotel parking lot view. Easy to walk out your door and stroll around the grassy fields or over to the dining room.

This is a lively, family-oriented place. It can get a little busy outside your door. Also the little road that the Village Inn sits on can be noisy with trucks coming off the Interstate. But mostly, it was quiet and relaxing.

This facility was more than we expected for the cost of stay. It was exceptionally clean, comfortable beds, real pillows, not those little flat things most places use. Was able to control our room temperature. The refrigerator was larger than most other places have. For a handicap room it had good space to move around in and the walk- in shower had a low 3-inch step to get in. Plenty of counter room for toiletries. The location is near major shopping, restaurants, etc., but far enough away from the city to feel you were not crowded. As for parking, there was plenty of room to park and not feel like you were taking 2 spaces. Located at the end of the building, room 139 was everything we hoped for and much more. The check in was short and sweet. Friendly staff both checking in and out. Was told all I needed to know upon arrival and with a great attitude.

We couldn't stay longer.

Our check-in was very easy and welcomed by a nice receptionist. The area had welcoming lemonade and coffee. As soon as you walk into your room, there is a good vibe of warm welcoming homeyness that you do not see in chain hotels. This atmosphere helped us to relax well after a busy day. The room was very spacious and you can see a beautiful and open golden grass area (winter). The deck with 2 chairs might be enjoyed when it gets a bit warmer. Everything was clean and functional with a huge closet, a mini fridge, a coffee maker, a hairdryer, a desk and a chair, and some sitting area. The entire premise was clean, too. This is a pet-friendly hotel, and yet the room did not smell at all. This place is a winner. To us, this hotel was much better than some of the hotel chains we stayed at. A buffet-style breakfast is served which had quite a lot of people at the restaurant. We did not eat there because we just don't eat a large enough breakfast for the price, but it seems like it is popular. It has been a long while since I have seen details that scream "Warm welcome" and "Value guests" like this one. I will definitely come back and stay. Super happy traveler here!

I could not locate the pet waste bin.

The Village Inn was one of the nicest of the 50 motels we stayed in on our epic 11,000 mile road trip through Canada and around the United States. The rooms were gorgeously decorated with a deck that overlooked a lovely meadow with a brook. All was clean, roomy, and very comfortable. We stayed for breakfast at the attached restaurant. For $11 per person, we enjoyed the most fabulous brunch imaginable. There is no way to describe the incredible variety and delicious quality of food!! You must experience it for yourself. I would go at least once a week if we didn't live thousands of miles away. I still dream about it.

This place is perfection!!

All rooms on ground level , Walk from car right into room. GREAT FOR OLDER PEOPLE AND YOUNG PEOPLE.😀 Roomy rooms. Parking great. Not close to bang car door next to you. STAFF WAS VERY, VERY, VERY NICE. JET WATER TUB. Fridge, microwave, coffee machine, iron , DVD player in room. CLEAN, CLEAN.

ICE machine was broke when I really needed ice but I am sure that it would be taken care of immediately. NO FAULT OF MOTEL. The continental breakfast SUCKED . Hardly anything out. That should be corrected. I think the price of room was to high.

Attractive, clean, & comfortable with views of grassy fields & trees. Our single queen room was like a little self-contained apartment with refrigerator, microwave, desk, & loveseat. The patio door to a private deck was a great bonus. Check in was easy, staff friendly, parking right outside our door. The on-site restaurant was open for an unbelievable country-style breakfast buffet. So many choices, and everything was hot, fresh, and plentiful. There's a modest price for the buffet, and it was worth ever penny.

From our deck, we could hear traffic. But that's what you get when you're conveniently located between two highways. Inside the room it was very quiet.

We have been enjoying our stays at the Village Inn for several years. The staff are efficient and friendly. Accomodations for kids are fine. The pool is our favorite place. The restaurant serves a full, filling breakfast. The location is excellent for exploring the caverns and other sights of central Virginia.

The price seems to have increased substantially in the last couple of years, so it isn't the excellent value it used to be.
