historic, cool layout. nice staff. the beds are great, if a little high. but nice mattress and pillows. great breakfast in historic part of hotel.
It’s dark, hard to find at night from the road. The front steps are awful. Maybe add some easy steps. I get it. they’re historic. still they are very tall! We were given the wrong kind of room after I explicitly called to get a king accessible. We ended up with double non accessible. but we were too tired to move once we got to the room. but I may have paid more for that king room. so… actually the guy I called to ask the question wasn’t very nice or helpful. but everyone else was.

This is quite a unique Hampton Inn situated on a spacious, well-manicured lawn in downtown Lexington. I stayed in one of the Historical Manors, and it was quite an experience. These colonial style rooms are elegant and spacious, using colonial style and decor. Don't worry though, the bathroom is quite modern. A definite must for history buffs passing through Lexington. Its a short walk into the downtown shop, restaurants, and museum area, as well as to Washington & Lee College. Also just a hop and a skip away from a Blue Ridge parkway entrance, where you can get stunning views of the Shenandoah Valley and drive on to Shenandoah National Park.
You do have to carry your luggage up spiral staircase steps to the manors, so bear that in mind when planning what to bring. I felt it was a small price to pay though for the historic ambience, so not really problem for me. But could be limiting to those not able to carry heavy bags well.

This is a gorgeous motel, close to everything. I was surprised it was less expensive than I anticipated. The room was clean and the breakfast was pretty good. Wish the pool was indoor since it rained the entire time we were there, so my young grandson was a bit disappointed.
Nothing, this is a great place to stay.

When you get to the hotel, the entrance has a long driveway up to the brick main building with a large green front yard. Very charming. The front desk is located in the main building which has characteristics of the time which it was originally built. There is also a dining area near the breakfast nook that has tables and pretty benches to sit, as well as a terrace (?) area to sit outside and enjoy your coffee and meals. The hotel has a small pool in a gated area that was perfect for a swim with the kiddos.
The bathroom was clean. But there was no fan for circulation and the shower would go hot/cold randomly. Most definitely not relaxing after a long day. The hotel was quiet for the most part, but having one of those adjoining rooms was terrible. That door carries noise as if the person next door is in your room. I will in the future request no adjoining room. The continental breakfast was nice, but there was an unhappy staffer that seemed to be quite upset about the waffle maker issues and it felt that each morning we were in her way as she was cleaning up and restocking things etc.

I was thrilled when I drove in and looked at the property. What a beautiful building, in such a gracious setting. Checking in was a great. When we asked about restaurants, we were given a paper with all the downtown choices, and a map. Everything was only a short walk away. Our room was larger than your standard hotel room, but we had booked the standard room. Everything was clean and well-kept. The vanity is large enough to put all my make-up, with room for my husbands toiletries, too. The outlets are well placed for the hairdryer. I was so surprised about all the lovely things I found here, that I sent family and friends photos. I'm used to stopping at Hampton Inns along major interstate highways. They're always clean, comfortable, efficient, but this one took me by surprise. Thank you.
There is no magnifying mirror in the bathroom, and the vanity is so wide that you're unable to get close enough to the mirror to see what you're doing when applying make-up or putting in contact lenses. Also, the coffee maker is of such poor quality, I always go to the buffet for my morning coffee. Trash that thing. I'm a retired flight attendant and I run across that machine frequently. How that company stays in business is mystifying. I prefer a hot pot and instant coffee to that. Your TV remote is horrible. Try it yourself if you don't believe me. It is not user friendly.

The Hotel was part of an historic building on a beautiful piece of property. It was clean and the breakfast was good. The porch was an excellent location to read earlier in the morning. My Wife and I will not hesitate to stay there again if we are in the Lexington, VA area.

Our room at the far end of the building was nice and quiet. I appreciate the fresh fruit and oatmeal at the breakfast bar.
Not a fan of the turkey sausage in the breakfast bar. I can't eat them because they're a gout trigger.

Breakfasts were awesome and the property was very clean.
The toilet in my room was working good until the last night of my trip there that I used more toilet paper and it did not flush completely.

This is a great looking property. It is reasonable priced and very convenient. If one wishes, the historic downtown is within easy walking distance. Lexington also has ample fee parking and lots to see.
I haven't heard back from housekeeping about a left pair of shoes. The door to the ramp next to room 221 was a bear to open. Other than those minor issues, I have no complaints. I'll recommend this property.

It was beautiful and still historic. I applaud Hilton for allowing it to be different than the normal Hampton’s. This hotel was a perfect fit for the area.
I really can’t think of anything .
