Beds were so cozy. Room was cold when we walked in. Love that they have all the amenities like the ironing board, hair blow dryer, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, body lotion, Keurig, free coffee, microwave and refrigerator. Free breakfast was complete with bread, oatmeal, yogurt, pastries, cereal, eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits and gravy, fruits, etc. They even have a take-out bag available if you need it! I love that they have hot chocolate for those who don't drink coffee. And the staff were really nice. Location is good. It was walking distance from the University and little shops. Parking outside is safe. They will clean your room everyday.

No bottled water in the room. Had to ask for some. You have to ask for toiletries. Wish it was all placed in the room. The little store downstairs did not have much selection in their refrigerator. All they had was cheese pizza and some drinks. No Pepto-Bismal for sale.

Very comfortable bed and cozy rooms! They have a convenience store area with reasonably priced (for a hotel) things like snacks and even TV dinners. (Wish we knew that before searching for late night food elsewhere.) The free breakfast was the first hot food I've gotten from a hotel since the pandemic. Parking was easy to access/use and was secure. All staff we interacted with were very nice and helpful. We were there for a show at the Tacoma Dome and it was perfect walking distance (and felt very safe to walk.)

We could hear our upstairs neighbors stomping around and someone in another room having a normal-voiced conversation. This did not inhibit our ability to sleep, but it's not something I'm used to in a hotel like this one. If you're a light sleeper who turns in early, bring earplugs.

Our room was very spacious and comfortable. And spotless. Nice bed and pillows. We didn't use the Keurig coffeemaker but appreciated that it was there. Front desk staff were friendly and helpful. Plentiful breakfast selections. The free Link light rail was great. Pleasantly surprised overall and would stay here again.

Bathroom doesn't have a fan. Loud partiers outside at 6 a.m., but can't fault the hotel for that. Omelets were awful but luckily there were plenty of other breakfast choices. A little trouble with the thermostat.

The location was good for visiting downtown attractions (Museum of Glass; Washington State History Museum) and some good downtown restaurants. We could walk to those places without having to worry about traffic and parking. (If you want to avoid walking near busy traffic some of the way, walk through the university campus.) The hotel's parking garage was reasonably secure. The staff were very nice. There was good water pressure and steady temperature in the shower even though we were on the top (eighth) floor. My husband looked into the guest laundry room and said it was the best one he'd ever seen in a hotel (a number of machines, a place to fold clothes, a place to sit). For a city hotel, our room was reasonably quiet (we asked to be on the top floor and not near an ice machine). We did not mind having a crummy view in exchange for quiet. (To get a photo of Mt. Rainier one evening, we walked up the hill a couple of blocks and then north one block.) We would occasionally hear sirens and train whistles from our room, but the train whistles were not loud. (We play white noise at night to mask sounds, so had absolutely no problem with noise.) The breakfast area was roomy. The breakfast itself was a step up from most chain hotels but still pretty standard. We had a room with a king bed, microwave oven, and refrigerator. It was spacious.

The bed was too firm for me (and the main reason I did not give this place a perfect score). I am a senior citizen and a side sleeper, so I need a slightly softer than average bed or at least a bed with extra cushioning on the top. I think the bed would be acceptable to most people, though. My husband had no problem with it, but he is a back sleeper. There are some homeless people that roam the area, but we never felt unsafe, even after dark. We were approached in a pizza joint by one young man asking if we'd buy him some food, so we just shared our pizza with him (he sat at a different table).

A glass light cover from the ceiling was shattered on our floor when we arrived on the second night. I called the front desk and but the maintence staff would not be onsite until the morning. Staff offered to us to move rooms but this would be too much of a hastle. We cleaned up the shattered glass and put towels down to walk as there we many tiny pieces of glass still in the carpet. We are unsure how this fixture became loose and dropped.

I was impressed with the friendliness and efficiency of the staff. I seriously wasn’t expecting too much- Holiday Inn, but I am going to return here for future travel to Tacoma (and I’ve done the fancy hotels and AirBnB) but for the money it had exceptional parking availability, ease of location, great access to restaurants, very clean and so quiet-not to mention large rooms and comfortable beds! This ticked all the boxes for me!

Secure parking, Location close to the Museums, the Glass Bridge, the Foss Waterway redevelopment and UW Tacoma, the breakfast, great value !!! I would stay here again !!

I was warned not to walk around the area after dark due to some homeless encampments nearby under the freeway.

I really appreciated the check-in and check-out process (easy and quick); and the friendliness of staff, especially the housekeeping personnel and the cafeteria workers. The hotel facilities were very clean, and the location is convenient for our purposes.

Breakfast itself (the choices) was limited. Location is not the best for sightseeing, if this is what a guest is for in town. There were no water bottles in the room (however, there was a drinking fountain at the reception). And also, there was no kettle in the room (only a coffee-maker that uses pods). I think that the prices (at about 200 bucks a night) are somewhat high, but may be this is a norm for this city).

The staff was helpful and friendly. Any question or request that I had was taken care of immediately. The breakfast room staff asked if I needed assistance before I even asked.

The windows could be more sound proofed. I loved my room which faced the street, however I could hear every truck or noisy car that pass the hotel. However, I was able to sleep as the activity outside went away.

They have a parking garage to keep your car safe from all the homeless people around! Rooms were very clean, smelt clean and curtains kept the room dark since we came from.a concert and wanted to sleep in! Hostess was very helpful with questions and it was very cozy!

Just the homeless but nothing about the hotel! Hotel was amazing and again the parking garage made us feel like everything was safe!
