The views were great, you could see the mountains and the Shoshoni river! The room was spatious and nicely decorated. The bathtub was a great size and very comfortable. Staff was nice. There's a shooting range right in front of the hotel with historical guns I also recommend. There's a historical trail right next to the hotel along with a recreation of an old western town.
Everything was fine, nothing to criticize. The only downfall of this place is that it's "far" from the city center, on the edge of Cody.

Last minute booking on a x-country trip, I had apparently previously missed out on the Big Bear Motel in past trips thru Cody. In my defense, the place is just never available in the summer but I'm glad I was able to finally stay here during the off-season. Super friendly and funny welcome, spacious clean room, classic Western-style motel, perfect location with access to everything nearby and stunning 360 views, but most of all AMAZING COFFEE!!!! I'm used to brewing "trunk coffee" on-the-go on roadtrips (vs drinking watered-down whatever) but was shocked at how good and strong the coffee was and how generously it was offered upon check-out. If you're on the road for a while, you know how important good coffee is, so I'm not ashamed to admit this was one of the highlights of my visit to Cody this time around.

This was our second trip to Cody, Wyoming. We stayed at the Big Bear Motel two years ago, and it was phenomenal! It definitely did not disappoint this time either.....we ended up staying an extra night, and we went to the rodeo. Excellent people! My husband got some info on Jeep trails near the area, too. Big Bear is a great family atmosphere with miniature pony rides, pool, and beautiful landscapes surrounding it. They also have excellent coffee! This is a locally owned place. I HIGHLY recommend it!
24 hour drive home to Kentucky. Honestly, the Big Bear Motel is great!

I loved the location. The second floor facing the mountains was an exquisite view during both sunset and sunrise. The location was lovely and the staff gave me excellent recommendation to try The Irma for a bite to eat. The staff were excellent and incredibly helpful. They also had a heated pool available to all guests for free.
I'm only sorry that I was only able to stay one night!

Great location to the east gate of Yellowstone and 5 minutes from Cody. Across the street is the Cody Shooting Experience. You can literally walk to Old Town, close to everything, but it gives you quietness when you want to rest for the evening. There is laundry on site, has a refrigerator, beds were comfortable, direct access to your room (no hallways), great views of mountains, etc.

Big Bear motel is next to the Rodeo, Cody Cattle Company and Old Trail Town. It also had a big pool, live music and horse rides.
Air conditioner was louder than usual.

The staff the entire time was overly helpful and more than friendly. My little girl enjoyed the fact there was a few ponies that she could go look at right outside of our room. The pool, even though a little chilly, was very nice.
Hard to complain about the price when it’s a tourist town. But that would be my only negative review was it was a little expensive for the amenities.

The location was quiet but close to town and the sights. The room was large and clean, the beds were great, and even though it was on the second floor, it was accessible. It also had a spectacular view of the mountains.
The water pressure in the shower was a little light, but still functional. The fridge was a little small, but still worked fine.

Nice that it's just off the highway, so easy to get too. Feel like a great home away from home Enormous room, updated features & had that rustic feel & clean smell as you entered. Temperature on the A/C unit had the room comfortable the whole night through.
Screaming children that could heard through the walls late into the night, made it harder to settle in for the evening.

This place doesn’t look like much when you drive by, but it is definitely a diamond in the rough! The staff were so inviting, and the privately owned, down to earth feeling in the atmosphere is definitely palpable! They knew who we were (the big group from MN) when we walked in the door- despite us never having been there before. The pool was clean, and perfect for the kids, and they LOVED the horse rides! The rooms were aesthetically pleasing, clean, and showers were hot. There was a grill on the property, and a playground for the kids. The view was breathtaking! This was one of our favorite places to stay on our road trip, and it was so nice to feel like we had room to walk around and hang out, and not just be stuck in a hotel room. We will definitely stay here again if we are ever back in the area!
The only thing that could’ve made the stay better was if they offered breakfast. It’s just a nice convenience when you’re staying at a hotel, and even better when it’s hot and included in your stay. That being said, the pool, atmosphere, playground and horse rides for the kids was something you don’t get anywhere else, and was well worth the sacrifice of a free breakfast. They had an excellent recommendation for a nearby restaurant, and there was plenty of space outside, had we chosen to cook on a camp stove or grill. They did have hot coffee in the office, and a vending machine as well as a washer and dryer, so way more valuable amenities than a place with just a bed, and free breakfast.
