location, view, room with balcony overlooking lake was just amazing!

we checked in very late and went to the bar to have quick snack. felt a bit rushed as bad was closing in an hour. understand everyone wants to go home:) but it’s 5* so a bit of patience would be appreciated. I work in 5* hotel in London so I know how it is!

Lovely location and the overwater bungalows were great! Also really loved the huge tub!

A couple of things - I chose to go to this particular hotel/location because it was meant to be a restful trip away from the hustle and bustle of Hanoi. It was disappointing that the sunset bar started playing music as early as 4pm which meant late afternoon naps were out of the questions. I would second some comment that the rooms feel a little dated and that some buildings could probably do with a paint refresh. The pool during the day was super crowded, lots of families with young kids and not enough sun beds or room for everyone to relax. All in all, I would say it felt more like a 3* (or 4* experience at a stretch) and definitely needs some improvement to be on par with other 5* hotels. Especially for how much you pay!

The location of the hotel is very convenient. Less than 20 minutes to the old quarter and the lake. Breakfast was fabulous with many choices. The staff at breakfast were always smiling and the service was excellent.

It’s Intercon. up to its standard. we stayed at 3 different hotels in Hanoi. if you are coming for a longer trip, it’d be nice to stay a night here to have a traditional 5-star hotel experience with a relatively budget price compare to other parts of the world. The room is spacious so good for family with kids. continental breakfast have plenty of choices for those who misses home, mostly Asian food like Korean/Japanese. I like that their room has that indochina design, where it’s a wooden shutter instead of cloth curtains, meaning it’s not adjustable and light can shine through. there is not much light pollution in this area so it’s quite dark outside, and I got up by the warm sunshine everyday around 6; it could be a minus for those who like their room blackout while sleeping. The gym is well equipped if you are very diligent with those machines training…

location-wise this is far from most of the attractions but we explored surroundings of westlake. Can’t really see sunset at the sunset bar, unless you are staying in one of those rooms facing the lake. it’d be nice if they have a jacuzzi, in this resort-like setting hotel unfortunately they don’t.

- Not close to major attractions, needed to call Taxi/Grab for all visits - Overwater room was dated and damp with small bugs flying in, definitely not 5-star standard. (No issue for main building room though) - Dripping noise from ceiling's hidden pipeline when raining, woke me up at midnight - Weak flushing toilet, might need to flush several times for a piece of tissue paper - No free snacks/drinks at minibar and over-priced restaurant - Big TV but Chromecast/YouTube not supported - Swimming pool and gym room were a bit small comparing with other 5-star hotels in Hanoi

1) The breakfast provided (within room tariff) was awesomely good! Cafe Du Lac is really classy. If you are lucky, there will be a pianist playing at the same time you are having the yummy nosh (along with a range of refreshments; 2) The King Room Above Water option is good (Pavillion 2, where we stayed, is highly recommended); 3) As usual, the Milan restaurant was awesome!

1) Some of the food provided by the Saigon restaurant was over-cooked; 2) The menu/food selection choice offered by the Saigon restaurant would have benefitted from being more detailed; 3) For the quality of the food provided by the Saigon restaurant, the bill was felt to be somewhat overpriced; 4) Overall, the quality of the food provided by the Saigon restaurant was fair, but not excellent (as expected); 5) The view from the apartment was very good but not as stunning as hoped (and unfortunately, not the hotel's fault, mind you, my wife and I saw some dead fish in the water (the apartment was just above West Lake).

As a well known chain, the InterContinental has a standard to uphold. The facilities were to a good standard but not as high as expected. Good selection of items in the room fridge, however 90 VNR for a can is just funny. You can walk to a little shop and pay 20 VND. The staff were awesome, however no buggy service from the carpark.

The room was with a city view but we had a view of the hotel so I think they needed to change the title. You pay a little more and think you will look over the lake at the city, we had no view. Breakfast was disappointing. We have eaten better at places that charge less. There was a good selection of Vietnamese food, however they lacked the extra step considering the price. For the amount you pay you expect a better selection of seafood, hot meat, fresh bread. The room didn't have walking slippers, just house slippers. If you want to swim or walk to the lobby you need to walk around the pool, walking slippers would be a good addition for this activity.

The hotel is well located in Hanoi, not far from anything a tourist may want to see. The Lake should be a fantastic attraction in Hanoi and as such the hotel should have a great advantage. The staff are super friendly - couldn’t be more helpful - I think the B&B rate was fair and the food and drinks were very good and fairly priced. We also had a massage which was excellent if a little strange that it was i a converted hotel bedroom but I wouldn’t be put off by that, it was great. The Sunset Bar is great and the breakfast superb.

I think we were disappointed with the lake - possibly more one for the local authorities but there were plenty of dead fish in and around the edge which the hotel should deal with. There are a couple of guys go around in a little flat boat - they could easily deal with this and litter floating in and around the hotel. The room itself was a little dated in our view - good rather than WOW, Finally our big gripe would be the wooden slatted windows which basically leave the room bathed in daylight as soon as sun’s up. We feel curtains are a must to allow for holiday lie ins.

Very beautiful and scenic property. The hotel staff was very courteous and polite. We loved the pool and all the facilities. We were even upgraded to Royal suite from Classic room free of charge. Rooms were very clean and cosy .We ordered amazing brownies for room services late at night. The hotel has all day menu at different restaurant within the property. Breakfast spread has too many varieties and food was delicious...really loved it.

The staff at Skyline lounge bar were a bit inattentive to us, they were mostly helping people who were speaking Vietnamese and didn't bothered to ask for refills our drinks or take orders. We had to go inside from the outside seating area every time we wanted to order anything whereas nearby people were attended repeatedly by the skyline staff.

Everything. Very relaxing experience. Although we arrived several hours before our check-in time they gave us a room right away (great service!). The food was amazing (specially the buffet). The view is amazing! You have a full view of the lake and the buildings on the back which looks great at night. The facilities are well maintained. The pool was clean and relaxing, we had a great time. The rooms are nice. We recommend to book a "lake view" room. It is quite close to the Old Quarter but without being inside the noise. This hotel is pretty quiet.

The TV set is quite old and small compared to other hotels. The room service menu is only accessibly by mobile, which are PDFs hard to read in smartphone screens (my recommendation here is to either use smart TVs so you can browse the menu on the TV, or develop a mobile friendly web page).
