We were travelling by road to Canberra and return, so this was simply an overnight stop both ways. We weren't expecting the Ritz, but we were expecting a clean room and a comfortable Queen size bed. What we got was the clean room, very comfortable Queen size bed, and a great night's sleep ready for the drive the next morning. The facilities were tiny, but functional, the bathroom & toilet were combined and also very functional. We were both surprised at the water pressure in the shower, it was fantastic. The lady at Reception was the only staff member we saw, and she was very friendly, courteous and professional.

To be honest, the only thing I can complain about is the TV didn't have the Netflix app. If the TV had the Netflix app/function, then the guest could log in under their own account. The Motor Inn doesn't need to have a Netflix account, just the app installed, so the guest has the option.

We initially planned on booking two rooms but noticed they advertised a three bedroom apartment for a similar price. Turns out this apartment is actually an amazing period cottage a few streets away from the motel. When we arrived at Sams cottage we were delighted to find it was huge. It has three bedrooms, very comfortable lounge room and enormous kitchen diner. The heating was already on which was appreciated and the second bathroom (wheel chair/ disability accessible)at the rear of the property was very handy for one of our group with mobility issues. If you are planning on booking more than one room at the motel you should definitely consider this option. Check in was very friendly and easy.

The staff member was really lovely and welcoming. The bed was very comfortable and the room was nice and clean. The shower had good pressure as well.

There was a really bright light at the bottom of the tv that we couldn't cover. This could be easily fixed with some of those l.e.d. light stickers. And the towels were quite small, so some larger bath sheets would be appreciated. Otherwise no complaints!

The greeting by the receptionist was fantastic - friendly and welcoming. The room had a King bed which made me feel like I was home in my own bed. The best surprise was that we are traveling for the first time with our new PHEV and we were able to use the charging station. What a great idea. We will be booking another visit on our trip home in three weeks.

Absolutely nothing - it was really great.

We stayed here on our way to Adelaide to relax before driving to the next destination. Our room was very clean, and the bed was very comfortable. The lady was very nice and very helpful and made us feel at home even though we were only passing through. We were so please we stayed again after visiting Adelaide on our way back to Brisbane.

We cannot fault anything.

The location of the cottage was fantastic allowing us to see a section of Hay we had not seen before as we had always stuck to the main street when traveling through. The cottage is roomy, practical and the owner clearly enjoys decorating. The bedrooms were beautiful and the stay was well priced for a family that needed space. We would happily come again.

Nothing really

We stayed at 'Sam's Cottage', which is a renovated 3 bedroom shack just down the road from the Motel complex. It has 3 generous bedrooms, large well provisioned kitchen, dining room and lounge room with large sofas and chase lounge. TV with Netflix etc in both double bedrooms and a large full access TV in the lounge. A large leafy and grassed area at the rear of the property, with BBQ facilities. A/C throughout, and many nice homely touches. Very peaceful stay for a group or larger family.

Dollar for dollar you are unlikely to find a better accommodation deal in Hay. This place was amazing! Nothing to dislike or complain about at all. Honestly, a terrific place to stay! Can't be beaten for location or value.

It is a basic old fashioned Motel building but scrubs up well and is excellent value for money. We particularly appreciated the EV charging facilities which were very well located, and the thoughtful touch of windscreen cleaning buckets scattered around the parking area. Very welcome after crossing the Hay plains.

Great location. The ladies on the front desk were just so lovely. They remembered my son who had stayed there a month before & recommended it to us. The bed was comfortable, instant hot water in the shower, all facilities nice & clean & good walking distance to the pub for a nice meal. And the fridge was quiet at night too (absolute bonus).

Actually nothing.

Bed was very comfortable. The breakfast brought to our room was first class. We would definitiely recommend - and stay there again in the future. Being allocated a room at the back of the Motel meant it was extremely quiet and restful. We liked the vines and other plant in front of all the rooms.
