The restaurant has a new chef! After travelling around from Sydney to Adelaide and stopping at alot of hotels & pubs we couldnt believe that they were only charging $18 for a 250g steak. Pear/rocket salad $8 - everything was cooked to order and made fresh. Steaks were cooked medium rare - hard to get a steak cooked to your liking anywhere. This restaurant is a well kept secret and we highly recommend it. You can drink and eat and just walk back to your room. The room was nice and clean and the pool was great in the 40 degree conditions on that day! Our 3 year old loved it.

We had no complaints.

Loved everything about the place.It was spacious, clean, comfortable with a modern bathroom with a great shower. A swimming pool to cool off and hostess Pam was so friendly and accommodating. We were originally concerned about having just a bar fridge in the room, but the size of the fridge and freezer sections were ample to accommodate our travelling needs. Pam also offered to freeze our ice bricks if there wasn't enough room.

I stay in a lot of motels - this is one of the best I have ever stayed. Not necessarily the fanciest but amazing customer service, great location, recently renovated bathroom & super comfy bed. The best bit though, was the amazing lady in reception who when she discovered work would keep us from getting a decent dinner, organised to collect something from the local pub (on real plates not take away) & have it back in our rooms ready to heat up when we made it back to town around 9pm. It was above & beyond her role but greatly appreciated.

The front of house staff greeted us warmly and were very professional. The room was spacious and clean and parking was available right outside the door. It was a short walk down the road to a coffee shop and a pizza bar, as well as iga directly access the road

Its a big rectangle outside and you can hear from inside the room every voice being spoken in the rectangle, including the pool noises

We were impressed by the lovely modern decor and newly renovated bathrooms. The beds were comfortable, and the shower was lovely and hot. The rooms and shared facilities were absolutely spotless. Friendly Staff too. The motel is located across the road from IGA and close to local hotels. We will definitely stay here again as our half-way stop from Sydney to Adelaide!

The Saltbush Motor Inn is easily located in the main street of this quiet, beautiful town. The rooms were well equipped, air conditioned, and wonderfully clean. The pool was perfect, and safely shaded. It's a short walk to shops, playgrounds, and facilities (like the free public pool and water park).

I wish we'd had more time to investigate Hay and its surrounds, but at least we know where to stay when we return!

This is my third stay here, and the service, clenliness, and room comfort have again proven to be consistent and of a very high standard. I will continue to stay here whenever passing through Hay!

It would be helpful if there was a restaurant or cafe on, or close to, the premises. However, the room did contain infromation about the bistro at the local bowls club (about a 10 min walk away according to Google maps), and I believe they had delivery options available/listed which was helpful.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, the room was beautifully presented, very clean and comfortable. Comfortable bed's, modern bathroom, and a lovely pool. There were plenty off eateries to enjoy a delicious meal, we thoroughly enjoyed the South Hay Hotel and New Crown Hotel , they serve delicious meals at reasonable prices.

Having stayed here before, we were expecting the same standard which was very clean, comfortable and quiet. They didn't disappoint. They apologised for a group that was staying and warned us they may be a little bit noisy, which they weren't but nice of them to inform us. They offered us an alternative parking position if ours had been taken by the other group but it hadn't. Nothing was a problem for them, very happy to stay there again.

Large room, full size ironing table, good quality iron, complimentary moccona coffee and biscuits. Super friendly staff. Chilled wine glasses in the fridge as well as complimentary bottled water. Large bathroom including very generous sized shower. Nice touches. Would 100% stay here again.
