Whole place had nice old fashioned vibe with Spanish architecture. Room had comfortable bed, tall ceilings and plenty of room for luggage (luggage bench was roomy and at a perfect height). Had mini fridge, tea and coffee facilities, air con/heater, TV and breakfast bench with two chairs. Location was very pretty, right on the river, and lovely and quiet. Even had some seating by the river for relaxing. Staff very helpful, anccomodating and friendly. Would definitely stay again.

Curtain on windows facing walkway was thin and didn’t completely cover whole window - could partially see into room when lights on. No electric blankets on beds, no heater in bathroom. Would benefit from another towel rail or some hooks on wall or back of door in bathroom.

The room was larger than expected. Had a large bay window that overlooked the river and was opposite the main doorway so flow through air was awesome. We were on adventure motorbikes and a storm was expected overnight. Although there was officially no undercover parking there was a very large cement covered patio with tables and chairs outside the rooms. We spoke to the guests on either side of us (quite some distance away who had their own entrances - we were just being uber cautious really) and no-one minded if we parked our bikes where normally out table and chairs would have been. Our patio table and chairs were actually 40 metres or so away on the bank overlooking the picturesque lake - I assume the previous guests had eaten breakfast over there, or had afternoon drinks. We didn't use it, but prior to checking in (while looking for a toilet) I noticed there was a full laundry including dryers and the ladies rest room also had changing rooms and showers. As an adventure motorbike rider had I been arriving muddy, drenched or other I would have found this to be awesome (rather than trekking stuff into the motel room). I wasn't able to hear any other guests or vehicles from inside the room so the walls must have been solid brick. The air conditioner worked (I used dry air rather than heat or cold as the ambient temperature was between 3 and 6 degrees on my stay 30 August 2023. The heavy fog in the morning was just beautiful. I cannot believe there were crazy people out rowing on the lake at 6am in almost freezing conditions with a storm due to roll in later that day! Seriously, the locals must be crazy. The owners also run the restaurant and are consequently run off their feet. We had to wait a few minutes at 7pm to check in as dinner service was in full swing but we did not mind. It was our fault for arriving at such an inconvenient hour. Despite this, everything was immaculately clean.

I wish motels would leave a fan in rooms for guests! I appreciate the moving air and quiet motor whirr to sleep and I am sure it's much cheaper than the air conditioners (which I always feel guilty running overnight)

The best things about this property were the friendly and very helpful staff, comfortable and spacious rooms, location and the price. The property was some distance from the main highway so it was very quiet and it is very close to the local river/coastline and the morning views were quite nice.

Like many places we stay at there were quite a few surfaces that needed dusting - window sills (especially the bathroom), tops of cupboards, TV and so on. The floor of the shower didn’t drain very well to the floor waste as the water pooled beyond the drain towards the bathroom door. We had to use a towel to mob it up. It wasn’t dangerous, just surprising. This isn’t a “dislike” but the drive from the main road past the property to reception is a somewhat potholed, short distance gravel road. This didn’t worry us at all, but those who dislike their car getting dirty may want to consider this!

Easy to find and nicely located on the river. The restaurant was convenient and service was quick and pleasant. Our room had a lot of space.

Pillows were very hard. Would have preferred separate shampoo and body wash/soap instead of the all in one pump in the shower. Water took a long time to heat for the first shower of the morning.

Peaceful .. great location on river. if you’re looking for luxury don’t go but if you are happy with down to earth, basic but roomy and clean accommodation offering wonderful setting for your pooch it’s more than fine. Love seeing the hibiscus bushes everywhere.. on the down side it could do with a paint job but for me I was very happy with it .. best sleep in months. Will be back .👍

.. I accepted that it could do with a makeover but if that happened it will be far costlier. it was truly fine .. I will return with my dog for a longer stay

I love the style of the accomodation. Formerly The Hacianda (?), it has the feel of a mexican village. I am inspired to build a replica unit out of mud brick on my parents' property nearby. The unit I stayed in has a simple, comfortable style that suits all my needs. I stepped into the foyer, with ample closet and luggage space, next to the bathroom with shower, toilet, ventilation (a window/fan I can't remember) and a basin with room for some toiletries. Next to that are well positioned single bed, Queen bed, bar fridge, tea and coffee making facilities, ironing facilities, bedside drawers and lamps, and curtains that block out all light!! Opening them gives private view of outside covered sitting area. Walking the grounds is peaceful, with a wide river (The Nambucca??) bordering the property. Excellent motel!

We stayed on New years eve and everyone was lovely. The other guests were great to be around and kept the noise to a minimum whilst still having a great time. The location was amazing! Right on the river and views were beautiful in the morning. Room was clean and tidy and bed comfy for a good nights sleep. Huge personal plus was they are pet friendly!

The room was very clean and quite. It was a short drive from Nambucca village situated on the river with water on one side. We arrived late in the evening so it was a pleasant surprise to discovery it's nice setting in the morning. Room was perfect comfort beds older style however very clean and spacious.

The only thing was that the aircon heating did not seem to be too hot however in saying that the room was not cold.

We had the big Family Room and our doggy came along too. The room was very comfortable. The small park outside by the river and little lake were beautiful. We came on Xmas day, so no restaurant facilities were available, but we were on our way further north. We could by juice and wine from reception and we also borrowed some cups and plates and cuttlery from reception/restaurant which was very helpful.

The swimming Pool was advertised as available and being Xmas day, it was very hot. But the pool was empty and sad looking -uncleaned or out of order.

The room was clean & tidy the bed was comfortable was great to see a ironing board & iron in the closet & extra pillows. Was also great to see a hair dryer in the bathroom. The motel had a Restaurant which we dined in the food was excellent great selection of meals with Chinese dishes & great service & was allowed to take the bottle of wine which we didn't finish to our room. The staff was very friendly.

It was a bit to far out from the centre of Nambucca heads but great location as was right on the river.
