We recently stayed at Mantra Nelson Bay over the Easter holiday break for a family getaway, and it was an amazing experience from start to finish. The location is spot-on—just a short stroll to the shops and restaurants, making everything super convenient. Our accommodation was spacious, spotless, and had everything we needed for a comfortable and relaxing stay. The kids absolutely loved the pool area—they had such a great time and didn’t want to leave! A big thank you to the two lovely ladies at reception—they were fantastic! So welcoming, friendly, and always happy to help with anything we needed. We highly recommend Mantra Nelson Bay to any families looking for a convenient, comfortable, and family-friendly place to stay. We’re already looking forward to our next visit!

Everything else was great, but just a small suggestion: when checking out, we had to wait quite a while for the lift as everyone was leaving at the same time with their luggage. Since many people were trying to use the lift at once, our turn took longer than expected. With so many apartments in the building, one lift doesn’t seem to be enough to handle the load during busy times.

Very convenient location. Within walking distance to Nelson bay shops and restaurants. The apartment was well presented and especially the living-dining and kitchen were very spacious. Bed was comfortable and reasonably supportive. A/C worked well and not noisy. Parking spaces were undercover and generously sized. It really offers a lot of value for the price I paid.

I only found some minor gripes which may not bother other people. Vertical drape blinds are fitted on both of the bedroom windows. I would prefer some properly lined curtains as the morning sunlight makes a sleep-in more difficult. My Visa debit card was charged a 1.0% surcharge via advance charge from the hotel (Mantra). The surcharge was not shown when I made the NON-Refundable reservation, so you should watch out if you are a price conscious person. The apartment was reasonably clean compared to other holiday apartments in the area. They could do a bit more "detail cleaning" in the some areas of the bathroom, door frames, light switches and window frames.

We got an amazing deal for a two bedroom apartment for 3 nights at this property, our friends got their own two bedroom apartment - it worked out cheaper than an Airbnb and gave us more freedom to hang out together at the bbq/pool and also have some quiet time as a family. Overall, I’d say it is correctly priced for what you get and therefore we were happy with our stay. You can’t expect a 5 star hotel when you are paying an affordable rate ;) The location was perfect, free parking in the center of town was brilliant because you need to pay for street parking everywhere else. We enjoyed ourselves.

The only thing to note is on booking.com the room we selected was listed as a Seaview room. We arrived and were handed the keys to a ground floor apartment, overlooking the carpark. In the far distance we saw a tiny little bit of the water. The photos and room description were misleading and reception didn’t seem to want to help look into it any further for us - it felt a bit like they were saying, bad luck, we are fully booked, this is all we have left. @management: It would be good to change the description in the listing and not show the penthouse apartment view for ground floor apartments to avoid disappointment 😉 For the price, we brushed it off and chose to enjoy our stay regardless of this, which we did.

The reception staff were professional and welcoming even after a rocky check in process due to misinformation on payment options. The issue was resloved and our family had a wonderful stay.

The fact that Booking.com advertises AfterPay as a payment option and the the actual facilty does not accept it. Extremely frustrating as I checked ahead of my 3 hrs travel and then told it was not vallid payment option.

Lovely staff who were very helpful, and Modern in-room amenities that were lovely and clean. Beds were nice and comfy, but I cheated and took my own pillow ;) Loved the bathrooms, however there was no proper ventilation so very foggy after a shower.

oh the dear old gym facilities - yuck! So very old and tired. I felt like I was in a room that was a dirty little secret, or a shameful relative no one wants to invite to Christmas dinner. It's down a winding path, away from eyes, and oh so smelling of mould. Pretty gross and offputting.

Great location, easy walk to shops and marina. Rooms were spacious and basically clean, bathrooms could do with a freshen up. Pool was great although not much seating around it. Parking a bit of a tight squeeze for bigger cars but they got under there and were convenient to rooms. Service at reception was friendly and helpful. Would stay here again.

The location is excellent, the family room we took was very spacious and had everything you need from kitchen utensils,towels,dryer,dishwasher and a big fridge. The pool was really nice .we enjoyed our stay and would consider it again in the future.

It was clean at first sight. But once you sit on the couches and you see the dirt in between the cushions and under it you know they dont do a thorough clean .the blinds need repairs as there were some missing or broken.

Walking distance to CBD, where various restaurants are located for a variety of lunch and dining experiences. Very near to Marina for quite moments and stroll along the coast as well as main attractions of whale and Dolphin watching. Walking distance to woolworth.

The parking allotted was in another building. Although it was not a big hassle.

Lifts make for easy access to all rooms. The apartment was quite similar to the pictures seen on Booking.com. Pool area was easy to access from our room. Underground parking was good - 2 car spaces per apartment are provided. Although being in the centre of Town, Nelsons Bay, it was very quiet at night, and handy walking distance to shops and facilities.

Kitchen area very functional, but cupboards and similar are getting a little dated.
