My daughter and I had a lovely overnight stay in this lovely boutique hotel. We booked a basic room, which was perfect for our needs, was comfortable and clean, and had everything we needed. The location was great, very close to everything you’d want, but despite being in a busy area, it was very quiet at night (didn’t hear a thing). The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We were grateful for the secure on-site parking and the early check-in they were able to accommodate, and the complimentary breakfast we didn’t know was included until we arrived. Would happily stay again, amazing value for money.
The breakfast we had was a little underwhelming… lacking in taste and something wasn’t quite right about the texture (bacon/egg roll which was pre-made and heated up and toasted banana bread). Not a major issue but could’ve left a better impression as it was the last stop on our way out.

The location for access to the Eastern suburbs is perfect. Access in is very easy. The hotel offers a complimentary small breakfast (eg ham and cheese croissant and coffee, or yogurt/granola and coffee) for each guest. This was really effective and easy in the morning. Our room was a Pet Friendly room so it came directly off the parking lot, so access for pets was excellent.
Being in a Pet Friendly room means that you have a tiled floor and a lot less comforts that you would want. It definitely isn't a luxury hotel if you need a pet friendly room. But for the location and access it's very practical. Parking is a challenge...only about 8-9 spots for potentially 30 ish rooms. So we found we could not park inside the gate for our whole stay. The local precinct parking has 2 hour rotation between 8am and 9pm...so if you intend to leave the car for the day...watch out. Finally...the pet room did have an issue with ants. So be careful with open containers.

$10 breakfast included in the rate was a nice bonus, as the on-site cafe does good coffee. The location at the top of Oxford Street is close to a bus stop that goes straight into the CBD. It’s within walking distance of lively shops, several pubs and lots of eating options. It’s a gorgeous part of inner Sydney and close to Centennial Park. The building is old and quirky, with historical architecture mixed with modern conveniences.
It can be pretty noisy, being at a major road junction and with old rooms that aren’t soundproofed and doors that bang. It’s not easily accessible for mobility impaired people.

Breakfast was included in our room rate, which was really convenient. The location was great, the surrounding area was lovely and a short 20 minute walk to the Horden Pavilion, which is where we were heading. The hotel itself was an amazing old building, with a lot of charm. Our room opened out onto the sun deck, which had tables and chairs, a cute little area for relaxing with a cup of coffee and a book.
The property does not have an elevator. This did not bother us as we were travelling light and have no issues with stairs. Due to the age of the building the staircases are quite narrow, I imagine that if you had a lot of luggage, this may be an issue, similar to if you have any mobility considerations. There are ground floor rooms which may be more suitable for these guests.

Everything! We were here for a concert at the Hordern Pavilion and it was the perfect location - close to the pavilion with great restaurants nearby and in a beautiful neighborhood. Easy to get a bus from central to this spot. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, the room was nice and clean and the hotel has a nice old (but well kept) charm about it. Cafe downstairs is very handy for morning coffees etc. and the rooftop was a nice surprise!
The room was quite small - it’s good if you’re not planning on being their long but definitely not much room to move.

Staff were brilliant! I had problems (travel documents stolen), so gave Hughenden a call - the staff member who I talked to could not have been more reassuring, or more helpful (in giving me instructions on how to securely enter the property after hours). Her advice made a stressful situation way more manageable. And that's just the staff - the complimentary guest breakfast was so welcomed (and yummy!), the area is wonderful (I met locals who said they stopped at Hughenden regularly - constantly - for the excellent coffee), and the accommodation is full of character, and quiet.

A gorgeous heritage home turned into a boutique hotel. Beautiful, spacious and clean rooms with air conditioning and lovely decor. Friendly and professional staff, and the cafe at the front of the hotel had a wonderful selection of savoury and sweet meals. Great coffee also. The lounge/ lobby / bar area is a relaxing place to sit and unwind. The location was ideal for us, as we had a concert at Sydney's Alliance Stadium; less than a 10-minute walk away. I would recommend booking a car spot if you are travelling by car, as street parking is near impossible. Also, if you have trouble climbing stairs, request a ground floor room, as the stairs are relatively narrow and steep.

The location of this hotel is excellent with ready access to transport for city or Bondi , with nearby shops restaurants cafes etc. and centennial park The staff are so friendly and helpful . Adequate breakfast served in hotel cafe . The room with patio is small and not suitable for two people .
The room towels are a bit old and need to be renewed . The hotel does not have a restaurant , as stated and the bar has limited hours - with staff not on duty at the hotel after 15.00 . if you need to check in after 15.00 you need to ensure you have been in contact with hotel to obtain relevant codes etc to obtain access to hotel

Ideally situated for festival in Centennial Park. Lots of restaurants and shops on your doorstep and it's a quick bus ride on the 333 into towon one way or Bondi the other. Satff we fabulous. The bed was VERY comfortable. The $10 credit for breakfast was a nice touch and you could get a good start to the day for that.
Showers over baths are something I don't like and our bath was very narrow and old and in a tiny bathroom - rip it out and put in a proper shower!! Our room onto the car park was noisy from road traffic but I am a light sleeper.

excellent customer service. easy check-in process, they messaged me with the entry code and lockbox combo for key. loved the mini bar with drinks, water, snacks. Very convenient for a tired traveler. Loved the location: close enough to restaurants and cafes but without being in the noisy action. Walking distance to a bus stop that takes you to the train stations. loved the coffee and juice at the hotel's cafe. very cute place. felt classy but it was budget friendly. the main reason I booked it was because they have luggage storage if you need to have them hold luggage until or after check out. Windows opened for fresh air / ventilation and the heat worked great.
wifi didnt reach my room that was just above the reception area. Tiny bathroom but it was clean and comfy and nice hot water. The main reason I booked this place is because they have luggage storage, but I wish I had known they have limited reception hours only until 3pm. They did offer to keep my luggage stashed if I needed to leave it until after 3pm, but the place they would store it after 3 would have potentially been accessible to any of the guests or potentially anyone who got curious. I appreciated the offer, but just a heads up to anyone who might need luggage storage. I didnt see a lift / elevator, and walking up stairs with luggage is tough, so if you cannot carry heavy bags up stairs, ask for a ground floor room.
