It's hard to rate this magical property without gushing. Superb, quiet location, yet close to the city - and what better way to get there than by ferry? Plus just a few steps away is the wonderful Cremorne Reserve and the beautiful Lex & Ruby Graham garden right on the shore of Mosman Bay. What bliss to have a room with an open window in summer. The shower rooms are handy to guest rooms, the Continental breakfast offers a variety of cereals and breads - and the option of eating inside or out. It's worth making the trip to Sydney just for the pleasure of staying here.

Not a criticism - but does anybody use hotel TVs these days? I never used mine, but caught up with the news on my tablet. I'm sure that's the way the market is going, and much more convenient for the customer too.

The friendliness and understanding of the staff to myself and my friends was incredible, as with sore heads from the festivities of New Years Day, well looked after and welcomed into the hotel before checkin to relax and recover. Additionally, staff were hospital in holding our bags prior to check-in, even doing so for friends who weren’t staying within the complex - outstanding friendliness and helpfulness!

The only complaint was a squeaky bed, very sensitive but also very minor in the scheme of the booking. Literally the only negative of the whole stay, and again, ABSOLUTELY MINOR.

The bed was comfy, the room was cosy and the bath was an excellent size. It was close to everything I needed it to be close to and felt secure.

I was really disappointed that I wasn't given a heads up about the photoshoot within the hotel that started early on Sunday morning. It woke me up, they weren't even trying to be quiet and was RIGHT outside my door. A heads up with a note and perhaps something to sweeten the deal (like some earplugs and chocolate, you know, something that acknowledges the inconvenience) would've gone a long way to make me less grumpy. Alternatively, the room should have been cheaper that night to account for the disruption.

The room we were in was Very quiet away from the road. We couldn't hear other guests either. The lounge area is great for guests to relax in. The staff willingly stowed our baggage before our flights. A shuttle bus was promptly organised for my trip to the airport - Very cheap too. Room was very economical for the stay. Love the heritage ambience.

Not much hot water in the shower in the mornings. No milk capsules provided for tea or coffee. Could have another lamp on the other side of the bed and another blanket provided if required.

This is quite a charming, older style boutique hotel that has loads of character. While it is on a busy road, it is in close proximity to leafy streets with historic terrace houses, food outlets, pubs and the like. After spending a few days in the hotel, it became apparent that it is situated within a delightful inner-city community with loads of street life and appeal that reveals itself the more you walk around and engage with the area. More than just a place to stay, this hotel truly offers a memorable 'accommodation experience.' The staff are friendly and helpful and the pricing is fair and reasonable.

Like most hospitality venues, COVID has clearly taken its toll and staffing constraints meant that the continental breakfast advertised on the hotel's website was not offered. On the up side, this did lead to the discovery of some wonderful cafes just a short walk away that do excellent breakfasts. As with any older building, there are aspects that would benefit from some attention and maintenance but if you can look past these and appreciate the overall experience, it is a good place to stay.

We loved our stay here! The staff member on reception when we arrived was very friendly and helpful, even though we arrived early and forgot to mention that we needed a second bed made up 😬 We really liked the decor - old world charm with vintage furnishings, chandeliers etc. Something with character The location was excellent - close to central, and Moore Park. Heaps of places to eat nearby - we had dinner at the Taphouse, and breakfast at Susie Qs. We'll definitely be back!

Loved the antique aesthetic, obviously dated, but felt purposeful, not for lack of care. Plenty of space, and access to communal leisure space was a nice touch.

The bathtub sides are very high, with a partition screen where the flattest area that would be most practical to get in and out is, so I struggled to get out without slipping. The lack of elevator or ramp was a little inconvenient, but understandable given the structure of the building.

Excellent location, walking distance to restaurants, pubs, public transport, shops, gardens and the CBD. Our room was spacious, clean and well appointed. The gentleman on reception was very helpful and courteous. Would definitely book again!

Maybe a light breakfast, but not really a criticism as cafes so close by and there was coffee and tea supplied in our room plus in a lounge room on the premises

Bed set up. I requested a twin set up as I was travelling with my sister. On arrival it was a king bed set up. Staff accommodated the change professionally however I had to experience the pleasure of sleeping on a fold-out. Not a big one but never the less would have been nicer in a mote comfortable bed!
