- nice staff, I got fantasist recommendations for local places to visit - nice buildings with lot of facilities: swimming pool, rooftop, gym room, silent room, laptop room. - each bed has a curtain, a socket and a usb plug

- shower with no pressure, it's more haze - no hand soap in the bathroom, ensuite dorms should not be synonym for lack of hygiene - the dorm wasn't clean and the bin emptied the days when there was no one checking out the dorm - my dorm was two floors underneath the sport room but on Friday and Saturday I could hear the loud bangs from weights being dropped on the floor every minute, the gym room should have more restricted hours than until 11pm. - the kitchen and diner room are too hot when it's raining outside and there is no possibility to open the doors of the rooftop - 4 dryers for 5 washing machine is not enough, I had to wait 1h to be able to use a dryer

The property was clean and fresh, the rooms were spacious and tidy. The rooftop bar was nice and various spaces to relax. Overall worth the price!

I was charged twice, once when booking through booking.com and again upon check automatically from my card, I had to go to reception and they organised a refund but not much of an apology was provided. I also booked parking for 1 out of 2 nights of my stay (that was all that was available) when checking in, the lady at reception gave me a access key card with no instructions on how to get to the car park so I had to go back and ask, I still couldn’t find it so had to call up and get further instructions, was quite confusing and misleading.

It is a mix of university doorm room, hostels and hotel, in a good way as it is very structured and organised. The building is huge, with multiple levels and rooms. The rooftop area is nice and I wish I had enjoyed it more. The beds are comfy and have a privacy curtain which I love.

This was my second time staying here and this time I was in a floor with way more rooms and way less bathrooms available, so I ended up going to the floor I stayed before to shower. This stay I downgrade a little and I kinda notice that downgrade on how well the bathrooms were kept. Also, I don't know who's ideia it was to do bathroom cleaning 1h before checkout, but that it was annoying having to take and elevator just to brush my teeth.

Smooth check-in, excellent staff helping out wherever they could. Love the curtains on the bunk beds in the dorm rooms for privacy also they have lights and own power outlets too. Comfy bed and doona. Nice big lockers in the room. Rooftop pool, bar kitchen, socialising area, gym, study room and food locker area.

Windows aren't soundproof, there was carpet replacement going on the next morning I don't know if there was a notice and maybe I missed it, twas abit of an inconvenience saying excuse me few times a day and all nonetheless twas alright. You had to walk down to the other side of the corridor to use the shower. Location is on a little hill so you better not mind the walk.

The location is just walking distance from bus stop and train station. They have many facilities in hostel, especially the kitchen. The room and bathrooms are really clean however they don’t clean the AC that often. There are many recycling boxes in the hostel and they’re taken environmental matters seriously. Staffs are nice and friendly and helpful. There are many facilities which broken at that moment but they also fixed them really fast, unlike any other hostels which never repaired their devices and tools.

The AC always turns off automatically at night, I guess they want to save the energy. But it’s annoying me coz I had to wake up and turn it on again. Besides, the AC is really dirty as if they’ve never cleaned it before.

The property was super clean and despite the amount of people there, it was fairly quiet. The amenities are amazing, and the staff couldn't be more helpful. Absolutely enjoyed our stay, it's conveniently close to the CBD. I would totally recommend this property. Loved it. 😍

The property is a vape and smoke free property, which is fantastic for some but I'm a smoker so I had to leave the premises to smoke. That was ok and I understand but there was no ashtray or seating where everyone obviously smokes so there was a patch of cigarette buts that looked messy. One thing I would add is our private room could have had a small fridge for real milk and keep drinks/food cold. There is a communal kitchen, which is exceptional but it was two floors up from where I stayed. This property was definitely worth the stay. Loved it

I had a great stay at YHA Brisbane City. The room was clean and comfortable, and I really liked the spacious dormitory setup. Even though I stayed in a shared room, the environment was quiet, and everyone was respectful, which made it easy to relax. I was impressed with the cleanliness of the hostel, especially in the shared bathrooms and common areas. The staff were friendly and ensured everything was spotless every day. I also wish I had experienced the swimming pool, but I had to leave early to do my regional work for my Working Holiday Visa. I wish I could have stayed longer to enjoy all the activities and social events the hostel had. Overall, I would recommend YHA Brisbane City to anyone looking for a great stay in Brisbane

While I enjoyed my stay overall, I found the shared room aspect a bit challenging. With multiple people coming and going at different times, it could get noisy, especially when people were arriving late or leaving early. There was also limited space for storing personal items securely within the room, which made it a bit cramped at times. However, the hostel staff did a great job of keeping the room clean, and the lockers provided some peace of mind. I also wish I had experienced the swimming pool, but unfortunately, I had to leave earlier than planned to do my regional work for my Working Holiday Visa

Rooftop bar was its best feature. Great beer and drink selections and had a lovely view of the Brisbane skyline. Nightly events allowed for mingling with guests. Met many lovely international guests. Bed was comfy and room was clean and spacious! Great view of the river and lovely ambiance. Staff were always ready to assist and awesome!

Construction along the river called for noisy mornings. This was of no fault to the hostel but it did make me irritable in the morning. The food sold at the bar was awful. Ingredients tasted cheap, defrosted and was just not tasty. Ordered a burger, karage chicken and loaded fries. Good for soaking up the beer/alcohol but not to be enjoyed. Mosquitoes made its way into the room. Again, no fault to the hostel but it was annoying having to kill them.

Room with one single bed and two bed bunk was a bit small and I arrived late around 9.30pm thankfully just before the two girls were going to bed. Used ladders to climb onto top bunk bed which was very comfortable bed and had my own wall box bed lamp and plugs to charge my phone and pull curtain across for privacy. In room there was a cupboard where you could also place your belongings. Must have own padlock. My bag and laptop was small and was able to keep with me on my bed whilst sleeping. The bathroom had a few shower blocks with bench to place you things when showering. It would have been great to have mirrors up on the walls of the bathroom to use for putting on makeup and hair. Only one mirror over two basin sinks, only room for a few girls. some rooms do have mirrors. I stayed for one night so this was suitable for the price paid and would stay again. The two girls were lovely. Had a great big kitchen area and seating areas outside and inside. The pool area was great with views of Brisbane city, but you need to get in early as not a lot of room and only a couple of sun beds. Ground floor near reception had seating area with powerpoint plugs and a cafeteria and great seating area inside and out. When checking out, Reception offers a day pass for you to place belongings in secured storage room if sight seeing and late flights to catch. You can also use the facilities for the day. Location was convenient as it's a 5-10mins walk up from Roma Train Station.

Bathroom slightly small with only 3 shower blocks and 3 toilet blocks, could do with more, though I didn't have issues getting a shower. Pool area was slightly small with only two sun beds.

When I arrived I was greeted by a super friendly receptionist (he had long dark hair), and he got my stay off to a great start. Then I met Bruno, from cleaning, from whom I would receive help and a rewarding talk. I participated in two of the activities offered by the hostel, the trivia night and the speed dating to meet friends and found them both well organized. I highlight the green initiative that the hostel has, trying to save as much paper as possible, providing spaces for guests to leave items they no longer use to give them a second chance.

The only thing I would change is the garbage cans for larger ones and thus reduce the use of plastic bags
