Absolutely loved this place. We enjoyed our retro look apartment with ktchen facilities. We really appreciated the totally private outdoor area and outdoor shower. The bed was huge and very comfortable. It was quiet and had atmosphere. We noticed the little things like spare candles, sarongs and pool towels to use and a fun BBQ area near the pool. The laundry facilities were also useful. We scarcely saw anybody else during our time there even though the place was fully booked. Its about 2km into town, which we both drove and walked. Highly recommended this quirky but comfortable place, and great value.

Possibly it was the position of our apartment, but the outside lighting did make it a little bright inside at night.

As you open the door, you know your stay is going to be memorable! The room is big, the bed comfy and the gardens and swimming pool just perfect! We had room 1 10 minutes walk to the beach and 10 to 15 more to the main street. Better to have a car but surely you can rent bikes too (not sure there are some available at the Pink Flamingo, we did not ask as we had a car). There are a couple or restaurants near by (walking distance) and a bottle store around the corner. You can also use the BBQ for a meal, which we did one night and loved our romantic evening. Loved The Pink Flamingo. Great value, super relaxed. Spacious and private villa with outdoor shower/bath, covered courtyard with comfy hammock, inside big long daybed and basic kitchen, cute and quirky decor. Great little extras like coffee plunger, candles and bug spray, library and games room, free bikes, honesty bar. The pool is a great size and plenty of lounging areas. Good location just few minutes from Main Street of town. Short walk to beach. Easy parking. Highly recommend.

We loved our villa but it is quirky and rustic. Not for lovers of sleek and modern.

The pool area was perfectly relaxing, the trees and colours were awesome. I enjoyed the honesty bar! The room is super spacious, with a large outside area too, it was much bigger than I thought it would be! The outdoor shower/bath was fun! I made use of the free bikes to get around town, which was really handy.

The only thing I didn't like was the height of the kitchen bench and the toilet, both are shorter than normal, and as I'm tall, it was a bit strange. Also, the bikes desperately need a service.

Friendly welcome, beautiful gardens, good pool, comfortable beds, enjoyed the hammock, plenty of space in the villa, used the library for books and DVDs. Loved the decor and the private courtyard with the outdoor bath and shower. There is a good sized indoor shower as well. For me especially a teapot as well as coffee pot. Walking distance to the beach and about a 25 minute walk to town.

Nothing about the resort, the backpackers next door across the road did get a bit loud at times

Amazing gardens - beautiful communal tropical spaces and lush and secluded private courtyards with your own outdoor bath/shower and a hammock! Gorgeous swimming pool and bar area, alongside lots of other amenities - pool table, library, bikes, laundry etc. The place has everything you really need and none of the major resort stuff you don't. And this makes it excellent value and really relaxed.

Plants and pool area with shared BBQ and trust-based bar are very nice and relaxing! There is table tenis and board games. Everything that is listed is available (even the outdoor bath was functional). Overall we had a great stay and would recommend this location :)

Unrelated to the property: The people in the neighboring bungalow left their dogs locked inside and they were crying the entire day.

Such a fabulous, relaxing, tropical oasis. We had the best stay at the pink flamingo, all the little touches from the outdoor bath with bathsalts provided, herb garden and honesty bar, huge selection of books and DVDs, communal BBQ and laundry facilities, and the amazing tropical gardens surrounding the beautiful salt water pool.... So many things to enjoy. The grounds are very peaceful and set away from the main road, you feel like you're in your own secluded paradise and while you may bump into other guests, the size of the resort and number of areas to lounge make it feel very private and peaceful. Access to town is made easy via the communal bikes, although we tended to walk along the beach or Wharf road to enjoy the port Douglas surrounds. The staff are very friendly and helpful, but also leave you to enjoy your stay in peace. For our special getaway as a couple, the fact it was adults only meant we could enjoy tranquil mornings and lounge by the pool without competing for space. Highly recommend and would definitely stay there again.

Easy check in. The rooms were spacious and comfortable with everything you need. Lovely little private outdoor area to relax in after a busy day exploring. Love that there is a small kitchenette with microwave and stove top as well as a fridge and coffee and tea supplies. My room was very clean and the pool area was nice and relaxing. I actually wish i booked a few more days just to stay at the pool and relax reading a book. The free bikes were an added bonus to get around town as parking is competitive around restaurants and on the main street.

The only issue was my shower leaked all onto the my bathroom floor a little bit.

Very laid back, peaceful during the day and private. Spacious apartment with fully enclosed courtyard where you could eat or have an outdoor shower or bath. Everything provided including beach towels and sarongs. Nice gardens and pool. 'Honesty' bar stocked by the pool. No children. Free use of bikes. Ping pong and pool tables were a hoot. You are really out of the hustle and bustle of port douglas and it does not feel crowded like a big resort. We would go back again.

Bed slightly firm and there was a very noisy night bird frequenting the gardens. Just part of the tropics I presume and probably there because of all the lovely forest and palm trees around.
