Polite staff, from check-in to check-out and we could leave our bags after checkout and come back pick them up. Kudos to house keeping for moving that heavy sofa and splitting the bed into 2 single beds upon my request, keep up the great work, I see you. Walking distance to some great eateries along the same street; although they have a restaurant which we didn't try out maybe next time. Pretty quiet as the building is located at the end of the street I believe. We had a mountain view room.

The only thing that didn't work for us was connecting to the wi-fi we followed as per instructions but still didn't allow us. Gave up after few attempts. Don't know if reception is suppose to put you into their wi-fi system not sure but oh well better luck next time.

Nice rooms

could do with a refurb, room looked a little tired but it was comfortable enough.

The location was good and we had a good view over the river, city and marina. Close enough to restaurant's in the same street and in the city. Staff were friendly and helpful. Overall we had a pleasant stay.

We caught a taxi from the airport and the driver dropped us at the wrong Metropol Hotel. We caught a second taxi and he took us on a bit of a tour when indeed the place we were staying was just a short distance away. Not the hotels fault but nevertheless somewhat annoying. We spoke to other guests who said the same thing happened to them. From street level there did not appear to be any clear signage to show where the entrance to the hotel is located either by night or day. Being tucked away in that corner it is not very well seen from the street. A bit of noise from the work going on in the building underneath but not unbearably so.

It's always the best view and it is convenient to have kitchenette and washing machine and dryer in the room. It's home away from home when we visit Townsville.

Parking is first in best dressed. So it can be annoying if you would like to go out at night, but when you drive back to motel, you might miss out on a park. Which leaves you to then park on the street, which is not always safe if travelling solo with a disability.

Value for money. Great view from our 10th floor balcony. Stayed in the Two bedroom dual key apartment. Ideal for families with teenage children or taking an extra family member. One of the more outer locations but plenty of eateries close by to choose from. If you are ok with walking, the CBD and the Strand are all do-able walks.

We went late winter, a consistent 27 degrees celsius. Would of loved to use the pool but it was ice cold.

The staff were always very pleasant. When we had an outtage of hot water on the Saturday fortunately, it was due to the storm we had just had and switches to the gas tanks on the roof were able to be turned back on. I was very impressed with how the young receptionist handled all of that.

Cyclonic weather actually means that you don't feel like getting out of the car on the way home and getting something to eat. We went back to the studio and thought we would get Takeaways. It would be really helpful if the staff on reception had a list of the people in the nearby area who could do a takeaway for us without having to rely on somebody more than 10 minutes away.

Really good value for money, well equipped with literally anything you could need (including a hair dryer, microwave and a washing machine!) in nicely sized rooms. The staff is amazing - we had to change rooms and the receptionist was just so nice about it and made sure everything was done quickly and smoothly. Location is a five minute drive to the city centre, the shops and the ferry to Magnetic island. I would recommend if you are just passing through or if you need somewhere to stay for longer because this is definetely bigger and better equipped than most hotels of the same standard.

The furniture is a little worn out but they try really hard to make it clean and presentable.

Room amenities were good, Room was large in size, AC was great. The staff were very helpful during our stay. Great value for money hotel which is in a quiet location. Nearby Restaurants are in walking distance. Close to the ferry port if heading over to Magnetic island. Undercover parking at no cost was available.

Pool wasn't in working order during our 3 day stay. Wasn't able to get hot water from shower (in both rooms - was only warmish).

We had a small mix up, for the first night, when we checked in. This was fixed first thing in the morning. We weren't upset, the staff at the front desk were great and helpful. And once everything was sorted it was great.

Not really a dislike, but The pool was freezing... 🥶 wasn't expecting it to be so cold when the weather was 31 degrees. However, once you were in it was a nice swim.

Beautiful room, amazing view and friendly super helpful staff. Loved all the amenities, was amazing having the washing machine/ dryer and full kitchen

Small coffee cups (we would have 3 cups of tea before bed because the cups were so small). Also, not enough tea bags, dish powder and laundry powder. We stayed for 4 nights and had to ask everyday for more supplies. Would be nice to just have a good stock for the amount of days your staying. Other than that excellent stay!
