Lovely and helpful owners. The service couldn’t have been better. The room was very clean, warm and comfortable. We had a little balcony which had a good view. A day or 2 before our stay we received a message to say breakfast would now be included for free. The shower head was amazing. The room had Stan, Netflix and other viewing options. It’s in town and close to everything.

There was no cutlery in the room. We messaged to reserve parking but it was more of a first in best dressed situation and at one point we had to park on the road. The curtains didn’t block out any light so the room was bright, very early. The bed head made noise every time we rolled over or even just moved a slight amount, making it hard to sleep. We didn’t mention this to the owners because we were too polite so maybe they aren’t aware.

From check in to check out we had a fantastic time! So good for families with bedrooms upstairs and lounge room downstairs Foodworks across the road was so convenient , especially during peak times not having to find a park for groceries was a bonus 2 minute walk to the patrolled beach was our favourite part of staying here as well as very short walk to all the restaurants and cafes

Kitchenette doesn’t have a sink but clean dishes are available in guest lounge area and house keeping swap them out too

Lovely sized room, with fantastic decor and fixtures and fittings. Complete with balcony with a view towards the bay, the setting was superb. One road back from the actual beach front, meant it was quiet and relaxing, which was just what we wanted. Lovely bathroom area with a large walk in shower, twin sinks, as well as a sculptured bath in the main living space area!

Having to leave! Absolutely nothing to dislike, although it was a shame that the dining area was no longer in use for Breakfast etc.

Fantastic location, close to beach, grocery store, liquor store, great dining. But still on a very quiet street. The included breakfast was very good - lots of options with both hot and cold choices. Jack and Natasha were amazing hosts helping with reservations and guidance for sightseeing. We stayed in the Captains Cottage, which was very large and a haven at the end of the days. Exceptional bathroom renovation. The little outdoor space was the perfect spot to enjoy appies and a glass of wine. I hope one day we might be able to stay for a longer visit.

There was nothing we did not enjoy while staying at The Captains at The Bay.

The owners are such lovely couple. They look after us very well. We arrived late that night, but they left the keys and notes at the front desk and left the heater open in advance which made us feel so welcoming considering it's a cold and miserable winter night. The next morning, they prepared nice breakies for our family. The property is very well maintained, very neat and tidy. The location is great. We stayed overnight in the two-bedroom unit. It's amazingly specious and very clean. Two separate bathrooms. Separate living room with a large balcony. Loved our stay, and would highly recommand to anyone who wants to stay at Apollo Bay.

There's no tape water in the living room, which means you have to fetch water from bathroom if you wanna to make tea or coffee. Not a big issue but would be perfect to have such facilities installed in the living room.

The staff is super friendly and could easily accessed via Booking DMs. They have car parking lot for each terrance. The room is big with a small backyard with chair and table for each terrace. The facilities in room is a bit dated, but it’s nice and clean. The shared lounge room has free coffee and hot tea warms you up in an early morning.

If you are goint to experiance the "Great Ocean road" this hotel is a perfect starting point, for day trips around the area. Visit the Twelve apostles, the Cape Otway national park, the beaches, or just the spesial nature around. The rooms was perfekt, and you have your own car park outside your dor. 100 meter to the shops / resturants Duncan and Anna was realy nice, telling the story around the Apollo Bay area. Very nice breakefast with your own *al a cart" egg and beacon........ Highlig recomended.

It is a lovely property, divided into smaller suites of rooms. We had one of the larger suites above the main building, and it was perfect for two friends traveling together One FM had two children. It was a very nice balcony/patio off the room where we had meals and played games. Breakfast was very good with eggs down to your liking. Very good coffee and a selection of fruit and cereals. The landscaping was really beautiful.

The air conditioning in the smaller, two rooms was somehow tied together and worked fit strangely. At one point we messed up the setting and could not get the air to work. The owners lived on site, but we could not get them after about 8:30. it was not so hot that this was a real issue.

We could not fault this property it was exceptional. The bedroom come sitting room was large and the bed extremely comfortable. The bathroom was huge with plenty of space for any necessities. Breakfast was held in the dining room which was well set up and there was everything one could wish for ranging from fruit juice, fruit, yoghurt, cereal, a cooked meal, toast and all you need to go with it plus various teas and coffee.

We could not fault this motel it was a wonderful experience with very friendly hosts.

Our stay at Captain's at the Bay was excellent. The location, just behind the main street of Apollo Bay was perfect. Just a few steps to the local supermarket, and only several hundred meters to the beach. The room was comfortable, well appointed with a very clean and spacious bathroom. The bed was also very comfy! We received helpful tips to explore the wonderful surrounds, as well as a friendly and personal service on check in and check out. Apollo Bay, although a little smaller than other cities down the Great Ocean Road (such as Lorne) is blessed with a beautiful beach, great seafood and a stunning location close to the otways rainforest. For those looking to explore the area, we would highly recommend Captain's at the Bay!
