The place is very affordable and centrally located. Bathrooms are shared. In general the place was kept clean and tidy. There was a “tv room” with fridge, tea/coffee, board games etc. The bar downstairs has some good offers and a lot of the hotel guests seem to go there. They close early so it’s quiet at night. It’s definitely not a luxury hotel but it was fine for us for a few days.

The staff was rarely at the reception and seemed to not know a lot about the place. They were all very sweet though. They don’t have any locked luggage room, so we just had to leave our luggage in one of the common rooms while we had breakfast on our last day, which felt a bit uncomfortable. The place could need a fresh paint of coat and some general maintenance.

An old hotel with a climate. The room is very small but for a couple of nights and if you don't plan on spending much time at the hotel alone it's perfectly fine. The bar downstairs offers great beer and it's a shame that it closes around 9 -9:30 pm. The shared bathroom was clean with spacious showers and a shelf to leave your belongings while showering. The hotel is located a 10 min walk from Rottnets Island ferry terminal and Fremantle Station. The streets can get pretty quiet at night so I guess one can feel a little unsafe when walking back late at night. Overall it's a great place to stay if you're planning to explore the region without the bustle of the Perth city centre. If ever in Fremantle I would definitely return.

Location, wifi works very well in the room. The bed was very comfy. Our room was very close to the toilet. Food is very good in the restaurant downstairs. Staff is very friendly.

We supposed to have a room with a sea view but they gave us a room with a view to the back of the hotel, anyway, it wasn't a problem for us. We didn't have light in one of the bathrooms for the week we stayed there.

The facilities were exceptionally clean and the room was tidy. It was lovely staying near the beach and rail lines and having the chance to see the sunset through my window. It had an old style hotel feel.

The staff seemed quite distracted. The floorboards creaked so you could hear people walking the corridors above and at my level all night. I realise that this is a small issue but some people might feel bothered.

I was pleasantly surprised. I really like that they have made some updates to this hotel, but have done a great job if keeping its authenticity. It is not all super trendy like many Fremantle places but is true to its name, an Australian Hotel. The room I stayed in was very clean, simple and quite comfortable, and a good price. The shared bathroom was updated recently and very clean too. There was a large comfy shared lounge room with tv, coffee etc. The staff were friendly and helpful. I didn't eat at the bar/cafe but the outdoor area was a really nice space and I will go back to try the food another time. Secure accommodation and parking also good. I'd stay again, it was a good place for a weekend stopover

Street noise and train noise.

Bed was good, room was good, food downstairs was good, and location was good. Everything was great apart from what I mention below.

Toilet were average but they worked. the stairs are dangerous as all hell. Very slanted to the left. Otherwise it is really funny when people trip over on it.

The room was plain, but clean and comfortable. The shared bathroom facilities were very clean. The location is only a couple of blocks from the train station which made it convenient to walk to. The staff were super helpful and let me leave my bag there early in the day before I came back later to check in.

Within walking distance of train station, good food in rest with affordable beers in the bar, really friendly staff!!

there were limited hours of staff at the front desk, but it was still OK. Sometimes getting in and out with keys was a bit weird, but also fine.

Friendly and helpful staff. Historical building, good location. Rooms and beds were clean. Bathrooms seem to have been recently renovated. Common room was quite large and the offering of complimentary hot drinks was nice to see. DVD collection and board games nice to see (the chess board is missing a piece). Free parking for hotel guests is an excellent perk. Free WIFI has good connection.

Decor was tired looking for example there is a mouldy framed picture in one of the common rooms. Hung paintings in rooms looked a little strange. Rooms are also without air conditioning would certainly not stay here during warm summer days. Consider using essential oils for a better smell in the hotel, there was an artificial fragrance smell when walking up the steps to room. Toilets need the toilet paper rolls hung in appropriate place, having them on top of the toilet is not hygienic. Covers for blankets and pillow cases are a strange choice. Hotel should encourage those staying at the hotel to eat at the hotel, there should be special deals for those who stay.

The room was big, huge bed and i had soooo many pillows. The bathrooms are huge and always clean. I work away and usually stay in hostels on my time off but for sure i will stay here whenever possible
