The building is amazing, the art as well, the room was perfect, super comfy and in a perfect location. I will come back...

...but I will not have anything at the bar or for breakfast. The café staff forgot half of my breakfast although I was the only customer, I had to ask the kitchen lady to send the waitress to me. I was simply forgotten. The table was dirty and I had to ask her to clean it. She was not familiar with the menu. I was told she was new, but instead of taking care of the tables and getting comfortable with the café drinks and dishes was yawning and sweeping on the phone... The pool terrace could have been cleaner, the bed was rather on the hard side (which some of you may like)

wonderful large rooms in an interesting cluster of renovated older buildings by the Mur riverbank in the center of Graz. Great contemporary art in the corridors and a cool cafe for breakfast and afternoon snacks. Very clean premises and upscale design furniture in the room as well as nice bathroom products. Great quality linen and towels. I received a room upgrade as a Genius member. I appreciated the extra amenities, all great. Staff are professional and helpful, especially the lady on the day I checked out.

The hotel's location is excellent—by the river of Mur, within walking distance of downtown. Parking is not a problem; nice guys from the hotel park your car in the garage, albeit for 22 EUR per day. The rooms are spacious, clean, and have a nice city view. The bad is comfortable. The girls at the reception are kind and helpful, to be commended. The hotel has a cozy bar, where you can have some drinks and cake as well as breakfast ( a la carte).

The only complaint is that there is no breakfast, only a la carte.

Beautifully reconstructed hotel, design is great. Very comfortable room, great view towards the river, proximity to city center. Staff is very polite and welcoming. Unfortunately we didn't get to enjoy outdoor pool, but it looked amazing.

Breakfast at the restaurant was only average, was expecting amazing food, given the attention to detail throughout the hotel. The privacy of the bathroom could also be an issue, as it has glass window towards the room, and glass door with zero soundproofing.

Delicious breakfast from A la Carte menu, lovingly prepared fresh. Good coffee too. Room was large, well equipped, comfy bed good pillows. So handy to have the cable car to top of hill next door. Town has a good 'feel', is buzzing and many events and museums. Needed more time to see everything. Charming helpful staff. Hotel well located, cleverly designed, a gem.

probably an uncontrollable issue... The sound proofing in our charming attic room roof space revealed itself problematic. The woman next door in high heels who first paced the floor and then had loud long sexual encounters at 4 am was to say the least unwelcome. I did enter the corridor and request some quiet. Didn't really work. A one off I hope...

A very individual hotel. I imagine that every room has its own personality. Set into the Schloßberg rock the Kai 36 has a little surprise around every corner. The pool was a welcome addition in the 34 degree heat. Don’t let the fact that breakfast is not included put you off. The little cafe within the hotel serves breakfast until 14:00. It was a welcome change to the usual hotel breakfast buffet to be able to relax over a freshly prepared delicious coffee, your choice of eggs and much more.

Although the bedroom was very spacious, it would have been nice to have more shelving in order to unpack more of our things. The terraced areas around the pool could have used a few more sunshades… I realise the high temperatures during our stay are not the norm in Austria.

Comfortable hotel, with lovely, friendly staff and a great terrace overlooking the city. Our room had its own outside space, but it wasn't very appealing so we didn't use it, I wouldn't book that option again. A good breakfast menu is available in the café downstairs. Location is great and there's a tram stop just outside. If you're coming from the train station, you need to get a tram to Hauptplatz/Congress then change to a 3 or 5 to get to the hotel (less walking than the option offered by Google Maps!) - note the tram station is down the escalator outside at the front of the station.

Kai 36 is an nice and comfortable hotel with amazing style and well organised work. Staff helped us with late checkin. We felt care and really appreciate effort around guests care. Breakfast in caffe was delicious. The room, yard, terrace and all other things create nice atmosphere and joy of vacation. Thank you! For sure will try to stay in Kai 36 during our next visit to Graz.

Nothing to add. Hotel is amazing.

This hotel is just wonderful and very special! The most I liked the decoration and the beautiful view of Graz, there was also a nice pool with view, opened 24 hours, very clean rooms, very tasteful interior. I also loved the delicious breakfast and the kindl and helpful staff! Also quite close to the center. I had a special room: the pool house, felt like a very personal stay!

Would have loved to stay longer!

wonderful staff; able to assist when I could not climb stairs to original room booked; fabulous, whimsical art throughout the property; my new room was a childhood fantasy of a loft space with windows that opened to the street and sound of the River. Really wonderful kind and smart employees!!!

older individuals (I will be 80 on my next birthday) need to be cautioned that some rooms are only accessible by stairs, not a lift. but that problem was solved by changing rooms. recommend explanation in room selection process: “this room is accessible by stairs only”.
