We loved our stay here! Breakfast and coffee were incredible and made to order by the lovely woman at the coffee desk! Comfy beds, fun decor, overall good vibes and nice places to socialize in the lobby and the courtyard if you're traveling with a larger group. It is a little bit of a walk to the city center (maybe 15-20 minutes), but the walk is gorgeous - right along the river with incredible views both directions. The very quick 10 min walk to and from the train station was convenient. Check out the Pelikan bar if you go and say hello to Gottfried for us.

We needed a wine opener and ended up finding one behind the bar (no staff was working because it was a holiday), but it would be nice to have one or two out for guest use. :) Also, we were missing either shower gel or hand soap. Not a huge deal, but would be nice for next time.

Self check in was nice. We had a very modern, pleasant room with a nice ambiance. Even though the room overviews a busy road, no noise got into the room due to the double windows. The separate toilet is a nice addition. Salzburg really positively surprised us as a whole.

The parking facilities were only payable through a credit card link. As we did not have one, we suggested multiple solutions. They were all refused and the personnel did not help us out in making it work. The hotel charges EUR 25 a day for parking, whilst the day-price of the same garage is only EUR 24. There is not really an option to drop off luggage before parking. There is a few hundred meter walk from the nearest garage to the hotel. When walking home from the city center at night, the path along the river houses a lot of homeless people. Of course, the hotel cannot help this and this is not a direct problem, but it might be good to take note. Small details to a great room and great stay!

good concept: simple and practical, rent a bikes. Bed is good, breakfast is fine (dining style).

The hotel is located in one of the most 'heavy traffic' streets of Salzburg. This should be made clear on their intro page. We had luck, because there were a room available on the inner side as well and we got a free upgrade (thank you for that, once again). On-site personnel only from 7 am to 12 pm. Rooms on the heavy traffic road side are way overpriced - you cannot open the windows. 1 oversized (gigantic) pillow per person in the beds.

The hotel is really nice and our room was large and everything new and clean. We had a room at the back of the hotel so we had no problems at all with the busy street at the front. Melanie was lovely and a great help with navigating the public transportation. If you visit by car and use a parking spot via the hotel, please note that you have to go into the SPAR garage on the right side (we had some trouble locating the right place). We loved the city, old town is just a short walk along the riverfront from the hotel.

We liked how the room was set - small, but cute and effective. Clean. Promoting ecologic attitude. I liked the small gifts. The PIN code entrance. The bartender Rebeka - and her marvellous breakfast. Helpfulness and correctness of your staff over the phone.

I book the room with belief, that breakfast and parking are included in the price - at this very occasion I missed the reception (yet we manage to solve the problem). I also booked the room in anticipation of a beautiful view over Salzach and the Altstadt - yet I only gazed at a building vis-a-vis and a noisy street.

Nice and very new hotel. Location was very good and nearby the old city center.

Das Salz was the perfect place for my stay in Salzburg. The rooms are very clean, modern and decorated in a fun, quirky style. The staff were all wonderful and friendly. There is a nice cafe attached with a sunny courtyard that is great for a delicious breakfast. There is a supermarket just around the corner, plenty of bars, cafes and restaurants nearby and the city center is a 30 minute stroll along the river. Thank you all.

Great location, only a 15 minute walk to get to the old town. Rooms are furnished very nicely, quirky but good layout and very modern looking. On-site cafe from 7am-2pm with very friendly staff.

Rooms aren’t cleaned daily, we stayed for 4 days and only had our towels changed twice during that time. We would’ve liked it if the bedding was changed at least once and if the room was hoovered during our stay.

The design of the room is great. Generally a comfortable stay inside the property. Train station is walkable which is great for early bus/train to Hallstatt. Breakfast in the hotels cafe was good and staff was nice.

The location isn’t the best. No shops or good restaurants nearby. Also wasn’t the prettiest area of Salzburg. We mostly had to go into the town to get food (other than breakfast).
