We recently stayed at Imlauer for night with the family. GOOGLE maps took us direct to the hotel with no issues. Checking in was a breeze, the room was clean and quaint and prepared for our arrival. Unloading is available in the loading zone in front of the hotel and their parking lots, just around the corner. The hotel is situated a short walk to Mirabell Gardens and Palace and about fifteen minutes to the Getreidegasse shopping area. There are several restaurants nearby, but the in-house hotel was great for local cuisine. The breakfast in the same location as the restaurant had a great variety and was plentyful. What I liked: The service was incredible. / The ever-present Brigitte, the front desk clerk was amazing with her ability to serve multiple individuals concurrently. She keept calm and professional when overrun by 25-30 individuals after exiting tour buses, all expecting immediate assistance. It was fascinating to watch as she kindly assisted everyone with a smile and in multiple languages. / The restaurant staff was in typical Austrian fashion friendly, expedient and professional. / The buffet was always stocked or immediately re-stocked by the cooking staff, never allowing anything to be missed. There are also no complaints about the quality and plentiness of food provided.

What I did not like: The hotel is situated next to a major train line and station and if you desire a breeze like me, opening the windows will ensure that you will not rest if you are sensitive to noise. / Some reviewers shy away from this topic, but the bathroom tissue was like sanding paper. / The hotel is extremely busy and has only one elevator. Be ready to wait for a long while at times. or use the stairs. I am physically challenged, so that was not an option for me. / The morning coffee was unfortunately available from a machine and just did not have a kick. / Finally, the price was a bit high for this time of the season, including the parking, but for transients like us, it was acceptable.

The rooms were very spacious, plenty of storage, very clean, good shower and AC. The beds were very comfortable with lovely soft white bed linen. There was a fridge, kettle and hairdryer with shower gel and hand soap provided. The hotel was in a good location for walking into the very centre of Salzburg and close to all the tourists sights and attractions in the old town (10/15 minute walk), plus the train station was within walking distance just down the road. Also close to plenty of cafe and restaurants. The hotel also had a lift, restaurant and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

Location is perfect especially if you travel by train. Few mins to Salzburg train station and Mirabell Gardens, 7 mins cycling to the old town and around the hotel there are plenty of shops and nice cafes/restaurants. The hotel’s BräuRestaurant is also very good. Very quick service even on busy days. I must also highlight all (reception, restaurant and housekeeping) the friendly staff of the hotel that really made our stay very warm and comfortable- especially all the ladies at the RECEPTION. My 2 year old daughter is always excited to go down to the lobby to see them. Thank you so much!

1. The cleaning could be improved - the floor is not really clean after the housekeeper’s cleaning 2. The bed is comfortable, but the pillows are not great. It’s one of those wide, very soft, airy and crookedly shaped type. Should be changed to a hotel standard comfort pillows

Check in and Check out was quick, the reception staff were friendly and helpful, they even provided me with a Salzburg Card to be able to attain quick access to all the attractions and museums without needing to wait in queue. The Hotel was in a a great location just 15 min walk to the city center and old town. The food for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner were delicious and the beds were very comfortable. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone and if i were to re-visit Salzburg again I would stay here.

The only constructive criticism i could give is that the the reception staff could have stated the time the kitchen closed for dinner, as apron my arrival the receptionist said that the restaurant closed at 23:00pm. Which I was surprised when one day I went for dinner at around 21:20pm and the waiter said that the kitchen was closed, and was only able to serve me desserts. But the restaurant Manager had overheard my issue and provided me with a solution. He suggested that i could have dinner in there other hotel the Pitter as there kitchen closed later.

Room - we were traveling as a family with 3 adults and 5 yr old and the hotel worked with us to make sure our 2 rooms were next to each other. Breakfast - Amazing selection and excellent service. Very attentive staff and focused on details. Old School customer service which so many hotels are lacking now a days. Well done Dinner - we arrived early evening and decided to have dinner in the hotel dining room... Best decision we could have made as the food and service were top notch. So much so that we decided to hustle back after an action packed day of site seeing in time to have one more opportunity for having another dinner in the same.

Location is right by the train station but you don't hear the trains. Room was comfy and I slept well every night we stayed there. We had 3 rooms and they were all clean. The restaurant there is very popular and quite good. We took advantage of the umbrellas everyday since it was pouring in Salzburg.

Rooms are small but it is Europe and its more affordable. There is only one elevator but it works and didn't take long to use. Our trip it was pouring in Salzburg which is not the hotels fault.

Excellent location, within 10-20 minutes of all historic monuments, museums, downtown, shops, restaurants. Very close to train station. 20 min taxi drive to airport. Very good breakfast. Also, possibility of receiving bonus of 5 euros per day if request that room not be cleaned, to be used in restaurant. Very friendly and helpful staff. Smallish hotel, and thus fast elevator. Also very good restaurant, many colleagues not lodged there went to have dinner there more than once (I went to a conference). Notice that restaurant was always filled with locals.

Wifi quality varied depending on where I was in my room, so that I had to try to find the best wifi location. Room was not very appropriate for working, no plug close to the table to connect electricity, but lots of plugs in room. TV only German channels (that I could see). Also, combination of tub+shower (excellent shower) was hard to get out of, since tub needed some sort of anti-slip protection. I had to place a towel in the tub to avoid slipping.

The hotel is very close to the main train station, only about 5-10 minutes on foot. The old city is also easily reachable, a 15 minute walk and you are there, but plenty of buses stop in the street as well. Our room was spacious and clean, the bathroom is also big and well equipped. Beds were comfortable and there was no noise coming from the train station. We had breakfast included and it was delicious, one of the best and widest selections I ever had in hotels. Staff was nice too, and you get a voucher for the restaurant if you don’t ask for cleaning every day.

There was no problems, maybe the pillows were too soft.

3 stars hotel at best, but good value for the money considering prices in the city, very friendly staff, very good service at the hotel restaurant and tasty food, walking distance from all touristic attractions and in a quiet area

It was cold in our room, we notified it to the reception, but despite their effort to help, I hunk the heating system is just outdated

We stayed in a twin room it’s a bit on the small size but it was very comfortable, clean and had everything that we needed eg tea/coffee tray, mini fridge. The bathroom had an overhead shower which was good and easy to control, big mirror which amazingly never steamed up and everything was clean and shiny. The breakfast was amazing served in a lovely room, the choice was amazing and was being continually topped up and tidied by staff. Talking of staff they are excellent, working hard to make your stay a pleasant one with a smile on their face.

The walk into the old town is a bit in the long side but it’s a pleasant walk.
